We especially love how this home manages to effortlessly meld old with new. Offering a distinctive blend of traditional Andalusian architecture reminiscent of some of the area's centuries-old palaces – with its beautiful central courtyard surrounded by elegant white columns, balconies, and housing a striking mosaic-tiled water fountain – and contemporary styling with plenty of handy modern conveniences this home epitomises the perfect blend of tradition of modernity.

Within its stunning interiors, you will find an enviable list of luxury amenities; including a home cinema system, games room complete with a bar area and a billiards table on the lower ground floor as well as a wine cellar, a sauna, and a well-equipped home gym. Villa Mirador boasts a great location within the sought-after development of La Zagaleta – an exclusive gated community of more than 900 hectares of natural beauty centred around a well-manicured golf course. About equidistant between ultra-lux Marbella and the more laid-back, traditional town of Estepona, this truly beautiful home is ideally placed for getting the most out of this vibrant and ever-popular part of Spain.

La Zagaleta is around a 30-minute drive from Marbella – known by some as Southern Spain's answer to St. Tropez and a well-established playground for the rich, famous, and undeniably glamorous. Here you will find an array of high-end boutiques, Michelin-starred restaurants, excellent nightlife, and beautiful beaches dotted with trendy cafes where the order of the day is celeb-spotting.

Of course, there is also the large marina at Puerto Banus, one of the world's best-known luxury ports that houses a sprawling selection of glittering mega-yachts. Spend an afternoon strolling through the marina before finding the perfect spot to sip a sundowner as the European jet-set gather on their yachts for another evening of champagne-doused hedonism. Then there is the traditional 'old town' of Marbella, which retains an authentic Spanish charm and is filled with cobbled streets lined by a vast array of restaurants serving some of the best tapas on the Costa del Sol. Don't miss out on the chance to try the famous patatas bravas (fried potatoes in a spicy tomato sauce) or, for the slightly more adventurous, pulpo a la gallega (octopus with paprika, olive oil, and sea salt).

Marbella is also home to some wonderful beaches, many of which are family-friendly thanks to their wide expanses of soft golden sand and comparatively shallow waters. All along this stretch of coastline, you will find a variety of water sports for all ability levels, as well as volleyball and other seaside activities. In the Plaza de los Naranjos, or Orange Square, you'll find yourself surrounded by opulent architecture from both the Moorish and Baroque ages, some of which dates back to the fifteenth and sixteenth centuries. Other popular seaside resorts can be found all along this golden stretch of coastline, including the idyllic Benahavis: a traditional town known for its wealth of authentic restaurants, whitewashed villas adorned with bougainvillaea and gently undulating surrounding landscapes.

The natural woodland forms part of a reserve characterised by its rich diversity of flowers, lakes and wildlife. There are a number of hiking trails for guests who want to explore the area on foot, while an equestrian centre allows riders to spot the resident deer, rabbits, and birdlife while on horseback. If you're after more activity, there are two pristine 18-hole golf courses reserved exclusively for residents, plus tennis courts, a bowling alley, and a billiard room in the clubhouse. The clubhouse also comes alive at night, offering seasonal restaurants, a disco, and a bar.

We think this home provides a great base for those travelling with children and/or teenagers. They're sure to love the pool area, while the adjacent outdoor seating area means you can keep an eye on them as they have fun.

One of the seven bedrooms (which can be converted into a twin room upon request) adjoins the master suite, making it ideal for little ones who don't need to sleep in the room with you but who would feel more comfortable being just next door with a door that can be kept open. The self-contained annexe with its own separate entrance and housing two double en-suite bedrooms could also offer the perfect compromise for older teens who might be ready for a taste of privacy and their own space while still being very much part of the household.

The tranquillity of the local area is also ideal for families looking to escape it all and unwind together in comfort and privacy. The picturesque countryside that surrounds the home lends itself well to being explored on foot or by bike, so there are loads to keep the little ones occupied (and get them tired out in time for bed so you can enjoy some much-deserved 'me time' in the evening.

These terms and conditions may be amended from time to time.

Security deposit €3,000 paid via bank transfer to the owner before arrival, or via credit card on arrival, and refunded two weeks after departure, subject to full inspection.
Arrival time 5 pm.
Departure time 10 am.
End of stay cleaning included? Yes. However, guests are required to leave the accommodation clean, tidy and in the same condition as on their arrival. Any extra cleaning, laundry, maintenance and/or rubbish disposal required will be charged against the security deposit.
Linen & towels included? Bed linen, bath and pool towels are included in the rental price.
Energy costs included? Yes, included in rental price.
Internet access? Wi-Fi internet access included in rental price.
