Situated to the west of Marbella in the pretty coastal town of Estepona, Villa Rucula enjoys a quiet, elevated position in a residential area. Around 4km from the beach, this charming 3-bedroom villa offers accommodation for up to six guests and has its own beautiful garden with a private pool. The spacious terrace which surrounds the pool gives you seclusion and privacy, offering sun loungers, an outdoor shower and a barbecue. There is also a covered terrace with a lounge area providing plenty of seating, dining space and lovely views of the sea.

Inside, the house features a welcoming living and dining room with an open fireplace, air-conditioning and wall-mounted TV, as well as large, comfortable sofas. The kitchen area offers all you need for cooking and entertaining, incorporating a dishwasher, microwave, fridge freezer and oven with ceramic hob. Villa Rucula has three attractive bedrooms: one en-suite double on the lower floor and two more doubles on the upper floor. One of these has its own en-suite bathroom accessible through a wall of spacious wardrobes, while the other has the use of a separate bathroom on the same floor.

Most local facilities can be found within 4-5km of the villa, including shops and bars. Estepona has plenty of beach bars and restaurants to visit, and its pretty cobbled streets of whitewashed buildings are complemented by modern developments like the Puerto Deportivo leisure marina. Sandy beaches draw visitors to Estepona, as does the nearby Selwo Aventura safari park and its proximity to the upscale delights of Marbella, around 30 minutes away. In the opposite direction, Estepona is less than an hour from Gibraltar. Meanwhile, north of Marbella, the natural beauty of the Sierra de las Nieves mountains provides a stunning contrast to the coast.

The southern city of Marbella remains one of Spain’s most enchanting. While it serves up all the luxury and high-end living that it is famed for, there is much more to Marbella than that. The beach life is undoubtedly a big draw for visitors, with golden sands and calm seas ideal for a family visit. Some beaches cater more for the adults, with beach clubs and bars. Wherever you are, you’ll have great facilities nearby, including restaurants and sports, either in or near the water.

Marbella hosts regular festivals also, with the summer months particularly fiesta-packed. Look out for the Starlite Festival, where musicians from around the world come together, and the week-long Marbella Feria, full of fun and flamenco. The charming Old Town area of Marbella has all sorts of boutiques, bars and galleries in the little streets leading off Plaza de Naranja, and the beautiful La Alameda Park is nearby, close to the countless waterfront restaurants of the Paseo Maritimo. Tapas and seafood are big around here, and you’ll be able to choose from the most casual street food to the highest quality fine dining.

For a taste of the high life, head to Puerto Banus and hang out with the jet-set at the marina. The shopping comes with quite a price tag around this way, so if you’re after something more reasonable, head for a shopping centre like La Canada, which has more than 100 familiar names, including a particularly good selection of fashion brands. If you are looking for culture rather than consumerism, Marbella has something for you too. Check out international contemporary art at the Museo del Grabado Español Contemporaneo, or perhaps head to Museo de Bonsai – as the name suggests, there are lots of little trees to see.

El Cristo and La Rada are among the beaches you will be happy to visit in Estepona, and there’s always the option of a day at Selwo Aventura – this popular safari park has monkeys, lions, zebras and many more inhabitants, as well as fun activities like archery, zip-wiring, and trampolining. Also look out for Estepona’s Kartfun go-kart track and play paradise, Mundo Mania.

End of stay cleaning included? Yes. However, guests are required to leave the accommodation clean, tidy and in the same condition as on their arrival. Any extra cleaning, laundry, maintenance and/or rubbish disposal required will be charged against the security deposit.
