Villa Matias is a modern holiday home that sits within a quiet neighbourhood close to the town of Calpe and even closer to a sandy beach.
The villa has a stylish, contemporary look throughout and features all the facilities you need to enjoy a comfortable family holiday. It’s set within a good size plot that offers al fresco dining and relaxed terrace seating for a truly authentic Spanish experience.
The open plan living/dining room features air conditioning that creates a space with a lovely cool and calming feel. A corner sofa is positioned by both a television and a window, allowing you to enjoy views of the outside space or whatever’s on the screen. The dining table seats up to six people and is conveniently located close to the kitchen, making serving meals a breeze. The kitchen is well-equipped with facilities, including an electric oven, microwave, dishwasher and coffee machine.
There are two bedrooms at Villa Matias, with both being a good size and benefiting from air conditioning. One has a double bed and the other features two single beds. Both have an ensuite bathroom with shower, meaning no arguments over who gets to go in the bathroom first in the mornings.
To the front of the villa outside is a lovely terrace with outdoor seating and a small garden area, making it the perfect place to sit with a coffee and soak up the neighbourhood atmosphere. At the rear of the villa is a terrace with private pool, outdoor shower and a selection of sun loungers. A separate building is home to an outdoor kitchen, built-in barbecue and a dining table for seating up to six people. It’s an ideal place for eating practically al fresco without having to worry about the weather turning a bit chilly in the evenings, as you can simply close the doors.

The beautiful sands of Playa de la Fossa are just 1 km away from Villa Matias, meaning you can be relaxing with sand between your toes after just a 5-minute drive or 20-minute walk. Make up a delicious lunch and take it with you to enjoy a picnic on this family-friendly beach. And if you’d rather sample some local cuisine, there are several restaurants within easy reach. The water is nice and calm and there aren’t any rocks on the shore, which allows the children to go swimming safely. You can hire sun beds and parasols, but you’ll probably find a towel will do the job just as well.
Sitting close to Playa de la Fossa is the mighty Penyal d'Ifac. This massive limestone rock rises out of the sea and dominates the skyline of Calpe. It was granted natural park status in 1987, due to it being home to over 300 species of animal and many rare plants. If you’re feeling extremely energetic, climb to the very top of the rock to be rewarded with breathtaking views over the town and sea.
The heart of historical Calpe is just a 10-minute drive from the villa, so it’s a great place to enjoy a day of sightseeing and shopping. The old town area is perched at the top of a hill and is made up of picturesque cobbled streets. Here you will find plenty of fascinating places to visit, including the parish church of Nuestra Señora de las Nieves and the Archaeological Museum. The main street in Calpe is where you’ll find some shops to browse and there are several markets during the week, such as an arts and crafts one that’s held on a couple of evenings during the summer.
Playa de la Fossa
Costa Blanca is famous for the ‘Brits Abroad’ culture, and it’s understandable why it attracts such crowds throughout the summer months. Guaranteed weather, world-class beaches, tons of family facilities and bumpin’ nightlife is a recipe in popularity. Why not experience a different side of Costa Blanca with a villa holiday?

Villa Matias was designed with families in mind, as the second bedroom with two single beds is ideal for the children. They also get their very own bathroom, which they’ll absolutely love. They’ll also love playing in the pool and eating barbecue-cooked meals in the terrace building that overlooks it.
Around 25 km south of the villa is Aqualandia in Benidorm. It’s a fantastic water park for all the family to enjoy and you’ll certainly be spending quite a few hours here! It’s full of exciting slides and rides, with the water used having come directly from the sea. It’s twinned with Mundomar marine animal park that can be found just next door, so you can easily visit this park also.
