Villa Helena is a contemporary holiday home situated in lively Calpe on the Costa Blanca, and it enjoys an elevated position overlooking the town and tree-covered hills in the distance.
There’s a serene and relaxed feel that flows throughout the rooms at Villa Helena. The neutral white décor is set off by pastel-coloured features and modern fixtures and fittings. The sense of calm extends into the charming walled garden that’s screened by local plants and flowers.
An open plan living/dining/kitchen area is flooded with light for an airy and spacious feel, thanks to the number of windows throughout. In the lounge corner are two incredibly comfortable sofas and a large television. Immediately adjacent is a dining table that seats up to six people, and the kitchen is conveniently located for serving dinner quickly and easily. The modern fitted kitchen has sleek facilities that cater to every need when it comes to meal preparation and cooking.
There are three bedrooms, which are all of a generous size and benefit from a fresh, white look that makes them cool and calming spaces. The master bedroom has a double bed and ensuite bathroom, with another bedroom that has a double bed. The third bedroom features a bunk bed that sits close to the window for great views from the top bunk. A family bathroom is well-appointed with a bathtub and shower.
Outdoor staircases take you into the extensive and beautiful outside space. The terrace is home to a partially-covered dining area with a huge table that sits up to 12 people. Next to this is a brick outdoor kitchen and barbecue. Taking up the majority of the terrace area is a large, private swimming pool with a selection of sun loungers to the side. There’s also an outdoor shower and some impressive exotic trees dotting the terrace.

What you should know…
- There are several staircases connecting the villa with the garden, so the elderly and those with mobility issues should be aware
- Not all bedrooms have ensuite facilities but enjoy use of the large family bathroom
- The pool in unfenced so take extra care with younger children

Location
About the surrounding area of Villa HelenaVilla Helena overlooks the seaside town of Calpe and its range of amenities, sights and beaches. With a rich fishing and salt production heritage, the old town is naturally full of historical interest. Gothic churches and Roman ruins can be found within its winding streets as well as plenty of places to stop for an authentic Spanish lunch. You can also choose from one of the restaurants down at the marina where you can then indulge in a bit of retail therapy. There are two stretches of sand for soaking up the bustling atmosphere and taking dips in the sea. Playa de la Fossa is the main beach and is the most family-friendly, as it has a long promenade with plenty of bars, restaurants and shops.
If you’re planning a long day out at Calpe, then exploring Penyal d'Ifac is an ideal activity. A rocky outcrop rising from the sea, it’s also a natural park that’s home to over 300 species of animal, including sea and various other birds. There are also numerous rare plants dotted all over the area. Follow paths up to the top of the rock for stunning views over the town and sea.
Although Benidorm has a reputation for being a wild party resort, there’s also another, more sedate side to it. After a 30-minute drive, you can be exploring the lovely old town area with its charming streets and squares bursting with shops, bars and restaurants. People watching will be high on the list of activities as you relax with a drink or some lunch on a café terrace. There’s a market where you can buy a range of local produce to take back to the villa and make a delicious dinner from.

Aqualandia in Benidorm is around a 30-minute drive from the villa and is a great place for a family day out. This waterpark is the biggest in Spain and uses water taken directly from the sea. There are so many exciting slides and rides on offer and it’s also twinned with Mundomar marine animal park that’s located just next door.
