What Oliver loves…
- You’ll fall in love with the delightful detail throughout Villa Fortunata’s interior, terrace and garden
- The pool-side dining area is divine. Enjoy al fresco lunches beneath dappled shade
- The ‘secret’ garden is yours to explore. It’s also one of the best places to admire the view
- Two of the three bedrooms are en-suite
- You’re only ten minutes away from the popular resort of Moraira and just fifteen minutes from Benissa’s old quarter
- Both beaches at Moraira have been awarded the Blue Flag for their facilities and environmental standards
Ideally placed for visiting Moraira and Benissa, Villa Fortunata will delight and charm you. This private villa and pool are set in a residential area amongst the picturesque hills between the mountains and the coast.
Villa Fortunata sleeps six people in three double bedrooms, two of which are en-suite with an additional bathroom for all guests to share. The kitchen is modern, and the lounge has a cosy feel, with an open fireplace and exposed beams. The dining room adjoins the back of the house and is fully glazed. A room with a view! Your meal times here will be spent looking out onto the ornately decorated pool terrace and the view across rooftops, trees and hillside.
Down a couple of steps and you’re on your exquisite pool terrace. It’s bursting with detail, potted plants, sun loungers and garden ornaments. You even have an outdoor shower to help you stay cool during a hard day’s sunbathing and the outdoor kitchen and barbecue means you don’t need to go inside at all! Villa Fortunata is perfectly set-up for Mediterranean al fresco living, with the shady wooden pergola providing a rather grand outdoor dining space beside the pool. There’s a sun lounger for everyone so when it’s siesta time, pick your spot and take a truly Spanish break.
To discover Villa Fortunata’s ‘secret’ garden, go down the stone stairs next to the house. Follow the gravel path past Mediterranean plants and palms to a beautiful tiled bench and table. One of the best seats in the house for admiring the view, escape down here to read, sip afternoon drinks or just sit in the peace. Heaven.
For days out, there are two wonderful towns to visit. The smart market town of Moraira is only four kilometres from Villa Fortunata. A favourite with Spaniards and visitors alike, it also has two beaches. Or head inland about eight kilometres and explore Benissa. Its old quarter dates to the medieval times and is one of the oldest towns on the Costa Blanca.
Your private villa and luxury pool and garden will wait for you to return. Share the day’s memories and experiences on the terrace as the sun goes down and look forward to another day.

Villa Fortunata enjoys a great location. You’re nestled in the picturesque hills above Moraira and your view exposes the lush greenery that this corner of Spain is renowned for. The thousands of hours of sunshine each year and cooling summer breeze allow fruit trees, almond trees, grapes, olives and pines to grow in abundance.
It’s just ten minutes in the car to Moraira. What was once a fishing village has developed into a popular and upmarket coastal town. The marina is the place for sleek-looking yachts, water sports and fabulous seafood restaurants. While away the afternoon people-watching and sampling locally caught fish. Local delicacies include paella-style rice dishes, calamari and monkfish.
Moraira’s two beaches are on either side of the town centre. Playa El Portet is the smaller and quieter of the two. Both beaches have golden sand and clear, calm waters to swim in. You’ll be well supplied with ice creams and restaurants during your visit.
For another day’s sightseeing, head inland from Villa Fortunata. Benissa is about eight kilometres uphill, with it’s centre reaching 275 metres above sea level. Moors and Christians settled here in the middle ages and the ancient town hall, market square and cobbled streets were renovated about forty years ago. It oozes rustic charm as you stroll around the old houses and shops. Stop off at a traditional Spanish bar for a tapas dish of a local delicacy or two. And be sure to try a glass of wine from the Jalon Valley.
Supermarkets, shops and cafes
Costa Blanca is famous for the ‘Brits Abroad’ culture, and it’s understandable why it attracts such crowds throughout the summer months. Guaranteed weather, world-class beaches, tons of family facilities and bumpin’ nightlife is a recipe in popularity. Why not experience a different side of Costa Blanca with a villa holiday?
Here’s some handy tips for the best eats, things to do with groups, family activities and the must-sees for Costa Blanca. You might need two weeks’ holiday after all….
Sleeping six guests in three bedrooms, Villa Fortunata is ideal for a large family or extended family group. You have plenty of space to find your own relaxing corner in the generous living accommodation. Pick your spot on the terrace and spread out around the pool. There’s a sun lounger for everyone!
Children will love the beautiful private pool, where they can splash and play to their hearts’ content. You can enjoy pool-side barbecues and the pretty gravelled garden is a great place for hide and seek.
Beyond Villa Fortunata, children of all ages will be happy on either of Moraira’s beaches which are both just a few kilometres away. Older children can try out water sports and sailing from the marina or horse riding. It’s very popular across the Benissa-Moraira area, so there are plenty of clubs to choose from.
