Palacio Santa Cristina was built in the late 19th century on the Las Alberguerías estate. The estate was managed for several generations by the Díaz de Bustamante family, which in turn is part of a sanctuary of thousands of hectares linked to the very same family. For those seeking elegance, character, style and a completely unique atmosphere; then this enchanting palace is a perfect choice, making your special occasion completely unforgettable!
Surrounded by flourishing gardens, set between cattle farms and game reserves and with breath-taking views over the bordering meadows, Palacio Santa Cristina sits in the very heart of nature. Located in Extremadura, just two and a half hours by car from Madrid, Seville or Lisbon and just a few minutes from Cáceres and Trujillo, it is a truly special place to celebrate weddings and other important events. There are large private spaces to accommodate your occasion and stunning surrounding areas for you and your guests to explore.
The palace sleeps up to twenty guests in ten bedrooms, and there is plenty of nearby accommodation for the rest of your guests. Lovingly restored, modern facilities have been blended in with the charming décor. Outside, with the palace as your backdrop, you can choose a space to suit your aesthetics, be it a ceremony under the dappled light of oak trees, canapes under a banner of twinkle lights or a fabulous dinner in a tranquil garden. There is capacity for holding events with up to 1000 people in the same space, so that huge wedding of your dreams, with all your loved ones around you, is a very real prospect!

The Villa
Palacio Santa Cristina dates back to the mid-19th century and was completely refurbished in 2019. 11 modern double rooms, all with en-suite bathrooms, decorated in detail and equipped of all the comforts, as well as a luxurious dining room, terraces and bar. A large lounge with several rooms serves as a common place in the warmth of the main chimney, turning the palace into a home away from home.

Location
About the surrounding area of Palacio Santa CristinaPalacio Santa Cristina is located in Extremadura, just two and a half hours by car from Madrid, Seville or Lisbon and just a few minutes from Cáceres and Trujillo. Surrounded by nature, in a meadow of oak trees, it offers a real escape from the hustle and bustle of city life; an oasis of tranquillity. It is the main house of the vast 750-hectare Finca Las Alberguerías, with its idyllic setting and privileged location making it the ideal place for weddings and all kinds of events.
For guests, there is very good access, with a decent road leading to the entire way to the property. It also has a large parking area, with plenty of room for large celebrations.
The nearby town of Trujillo has been described as Spain’s most romantic village! The village is characterised by the Castillo, a medieval stone fortress which sits strikingly atop a hill overlooking the town centre. An escape from the busy tourist towns of Spain, Trujillo gives you a tranquil insight into Spanish life without the constant stream of tourists. Trujillo’s Plaza Mayor, the main square is beautiful, with a huge statue of the Spanish conquistador Francisco Pizarro and a myriad of local eateries where you can taste some classic local dishes. A leisurely twenty-minute walk from the town centre will take you to the gorgeous hill-top castle, Trujillo’s pride and joy. You can go inside and climb up the tower, but the most impressive aspect must be the stunning views from the castle grounds, stretching out over the village and the Extremaduran countryside.
Cáceres is equally described as one of Spain's most beautiful cities. Relatively untouched since its 16th-century splendour, narrow cobbled streets twist and wind among ancient defensive stone walls so you can amble and wonder for hours, getting lost in the charm and romance of the city. The charming streets are lined with palaces, mansions, arches and churches, while the cityscape is decorated with turrets, spires, gargoyles and storks' nests. The historic Old Town is in fact listed on the Unesco World Heritage list, for outstanding universal value and cannot be missed when you are staying nearby.

Wedding Reception
At Palacio Santa Cristina, there are four different areas that can be used for outside events, with a total number of maximum 500 guests seated. In the event of bad weather, there is an elastic tent available for use at no extra cost. Please be aware that events are permitted at Palacio Santa Cristina from April to October.
Dancing is available to do in any of the gardens/outdoor spaces with the same capacities, with no timeframes or music restrictions.
Wedding Ceremony
For the ceremony itself, there are two different areas; one for over 300 people and one for 80 people seated. The owners of the property can provide an English-speaking celebrant if required.
Where to stay
Palacio Santa Cristina can accommodate up to 22 guests in the house. For guests to the wedding, there are plenty of hotels and other accommodations in the nearby towns, and the owners can provide transport options for these guests if requested.
Wedding planning
The owners of Palacio Santa Cristina can organise the whole event themselves, or they will happily put you in touch with the most prestigious wedding planners in Spain, so you will have the best of the best for your special day! If desired, clients are more than welcome to bring their own wedding planners also.
Catering
The owners of the villa work with 6 of the top national catering companies and are happy to provide you with more information if needed. External catering companies are permitted at the property under prior supervision.

Wedding in the Extremaduran countryside
Even though I’m from Madrid, my husband is from Cáceres, and when we got engaged, it was clear that we wanted to get married on the grounds at Palacio Santa Cristina. It’s a gorgeous country estate that you can be seen from the motorway between Trujillo and Cáceres. The estate includes various spaces where you can pick where each space will be (cocktails, dinner/lunch, dancing…). Because we chose to have an afternoon wedding, we decided to do the cocktail part on the terraces whilst watching the sunset, the main dinner on the steps under the lights, and the dancing in the marquee. The estate offers various catering menus to choose from that are all high-quality, and they also understand how best to work there. Finally, it’s important to note that the staff there are always attentive and available to talk or show you the estate. Thank you again, we are super happy with our decision, and our guests were amazed!
