Located in a secluded environment that promises absolute privacy and is surrounded by some of the most stunning scenery on the island, Villa Chopin is a real sight to behold. This incredibly luxurious three-bedroom villa accommodates up to twelve guests, thanks to its configuration of double bedrooms that also feature sofa beds - making it ideal for larger friendship groups or several families holidaying together.

The mountain scenery is simply breathtaking and almost otherworldly, and every inch of the property oozes elegance and style both inside and out. The interior is a feast for the senses with a huge open-concept layout with walls of white and exposed stone, glossy tiled flooring and rich hardwood accents. Grand arches and pillars lend the villa an air of opulence, and the whole property has a high-end executive hotel vibe. Huge floor-to-ceiling glass windows and numerous balconies showcase those incredible views and allow in plenty of natural light, and every room is beautifully bright, airy and spacious. Villa Chopin features two sumptuous living rooms - perfect for if two or more families are sharing the property; both equally stylish and modern with luxurious seating areas, high-quality furnishings, and both offering panoramic views.

The villa’s kitchen and dining areas are equally spacious, offering guests a dining experience to remember, with plenty of food preparation space, modern appliances and all of the crockery, utensils, cookware and glassware you’ll need during your stay. Wherever you look in the villa, you’ll discover interesting artworks and objet d’art that are perfectly in keeping with the property’s contemporary style, from the hallways and staircases to the bedrooms - each of which is as stylish and elegant as the villa’s common areas.   • Vila Chopin is located in the area of Sonnenland, a place not often frequented by tourists and, as such, is a quieter and more laid-back area than other parts of the island.
  • Sonnenland is set to further inland with no beach of its own, but the beach resort of Maspalomas is just a short drive away
  • There are two cots and two highchairs available on request for the comfort of even the youngest guests
  • The villa’s private pool has Roman steps, making it easily accessible for guests of all ages. Parents should note that the pool doesn’t have a safety barrier or fence of any kind, so young children will need to be well supervised.

Villa Chopin is located in Sonnenland on the south of the island - a name that literally translates as ‘the land of the sun, and could not be more aptly named. Set on a hillside above the popular high-end resorts of Maspalomas and Playa del Ingles, Sonnenland is one of the quieter areas of the island, with a very relaxed, laid-back and less ‘touristy’ vibe than some parts of Gran Canaria. Located in the suburbs and further inland, Sonnenland has no beach of its own, but the beach resort of Maspalomas and all it has to offer in the way of sea, sand, shops and attractions is just a short drive away - or a 40-minute stroll if you are feeling energetic!

If you want to stay in the area and simply enjoy the peace and tranquillity, you’ll find plenty of cafes and shops to explore. The bars and restaurants here are, for the most part, traditionally Canarian and serve both food and drink until late in the evening. However, if you want English food, you may struggle; basic choices are available in some establishments, but if British food is your preferred cuisine, you might have to travel a little further afield.

The good news is that the nearby high-end resorts of Maspalomas and Meloneras are bursting with fantastic seafront restaurants offering a tantalising mix of fantastic views and even better food! If seafood is a particular favourite, you’re in for a treat, but you won’t struggle to find other types of cuisine here, either! The region has a wide range of delicious cuisine on offer, such as pulpo and prawns, grilled calamari, paella, steaks, tapas, burgers and pasta dishes - as well as plenty of bars where you can enjoy cocktails and pre-dinner drinks.

There are some fantastic outdoor markets to visit in the area, both during the week and on Saturdays, with stalls selling everything from clothing to fresh produce. You’ll find a wide array of aloe vera products on sale here, as the plant is native to Gran Canaria, so be sure to grab some locally-sourced skincare during your visit! If you’re looking for a higher-end shopping experience, head to Boulevard Faro, where you’ll find well-known labels like La Perla, Burberry and Tommy Hilfiger, and, if you walk a little further along the seafront, you’ll come to the Bellavista Shopping Centre and El Varadero Shopping Centre, as well as even more cafes, bars and restaurants that offer a welcome break when you can’t carry any more bags!

Just like the other Canary Islands, it is blessed with an enviable climate, an eternal springtime that invites you to experience its rich natural and scenic diversity intensely, its lovely fishing and inland villages, its traditions, culture and history. And also the modernity of the tourist resorts and urban hubs, like Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. The lively, cosmopolitan city is home to one of the most precious gems the island has to offer, and that also surprises visitors.

There aren’t many children out there who would have stayed in a property quite like this before, and certainly not set in such spectacular surroundings - so they are sure to be enthralled. The villa does have several open staircases, balconies and glass partition walls, so you’ll want to be extra cautious if you are holidaying with young children. The bedrooms are ideal for couples with kids as a double sofa bed in each room makes it easy for families to all room together, and spacious dining areas both inside and out will make it easy to enjoy meals altogether.

Villa Chopin’s private pool is easily accessible for the little ones, and they’re sure to enjoy swimming and splashing about without having to share!

Villa Chopin is set in a quiet area where you’ll find cafes, shops and restaurants. Adventurous eaters will enjoy sampling the traditional Canarian dishes, but for those who are less open to new gastronomic experiences, you might have to travel a little further afield. Nearby Maspalomas has an array of restaurants that offer a wider range of cuisines, including pizzerias, steakhouses and burger bars. While you’re in the area with the kids, it’s well worth heading to one of the area’s stunning beaches for a day of sun and sand before strolling along the promenade and enjoying an ice cream or refreshing beverage.

One must-see attraction, if you are visiting with the kids is El Faro de Maspalomas - one of the oldest lighthouses in Europe. This fascinating landmark is a popular tourist destination thanks to its picturesque beach setting and rich history that lends itself perfectly to a calming and interesting family day out. With plenty of shops, cafes, bars and restaurants in the surrounding area, it’s the perfect ‘base camp’ for your day out, with everything you need: sand, sea, sights and refreshments all in one place.

If you end up staying in Maspalomas into the evening, we recommend a family trip to the Moonlight Cinema, Europe’s only permanent outdoor cinema. The kids will love cosying up on comfy sofas and blankets as they watch movies under the stars, all while being served freshly prepared food and drinks!

Security deposit €1,000 charged to the client's credit card as a pre-authorisation at least 2 weeks prior to arrival and refunded two weeks after departure, subject to a full inspection.

End of stay cleaning included? Yes. However, guests are required to leave the accommodation clean, tidy and in the same condition as on their arrival. Any extra cleaning, laundry, maintenance and/or rubbish disposal required will be charged against the security deposit.

Changeover day Flexible.
Pets welcome? On request only and with prior agreement with the owner. If accepted, a pet supplement of €50 per pet per stay will apply (paid locally).

Pool heating charge? Pool heating is available at an extra cost of €80 per day to be paid with the balance directly to Oliver's Travels. Please note that like all heated pools, pool heating and water temperature are reliant on weather and outside temperatures.

Insurance Guests are required to be in possession of a valid insurance policy, which covers them for cancellations, loss of personal belongings, personal liability and any accidental damage caused during their stay.
