Tucked right on the waterfront of Bantry Bay, Cape Arno couldn’t be better placed to enjoy the stunning scenery of this world-famous stretch of coastline.

Be sure to head up Table Mountain while you’re here; you can take the cable car (or a 2 to 3 hour very steep walk!) up to the top, where 2km of paths can be wandered giving you panoramic views of the city and Table Bay. There’s even a restaurant up here for dining with a view! The Table Mountain National Park itself comprises several areas of interest along the peninsula, including Cape Hope and Cape Point, and is bursting with fascinating wildlife including ostriches, antelopes and baboons, and of course breath-taking scenery! What’s more, the city boasts 10 Blue Flag beaches, so you’re bound to find the perfect spot for you! Try out: Camps Bay, the Clifton 4th, Llandudno, Bikini, Strandfontein, Muizenberg, Fish Hoek, Mnandi, Melkbosstrand and Silwerstroomstrand for some world-class water sports and stunning sandy stretches!

One of our favourite beaches, and of the most famous of Cape Town’s attractions, quite rightly, is Boulders Beach, home to a colony of thousands of African penguins! Take a stroll along the wooden boardwalks and admire them in their natural habit, taking a swim in the cold waters or huddling together, all with the backdrop of the stunning ocean and mountainous landscape.

Undoubtedly one of Cape Town’s best-known attractions, the iconic V&A Waterfront is a retail and entertainment area right at the foot of Table Mountain with tons of shops, restaurants, markets of all kinds and even both an Aquarium and Marine Museum. It is the starting point for almost all tours, cruises and excursions. Within a short walk of here is the Green Point market, tucked just outside the Green Point Stadium. Visit on Sundays to find locals selling all kinds of authentic arts, craft and curios.

Region

Cape Town is a city of unparalleled natural beauty, cultural diversity, and historical significance. Known for its iconic landmarks, vibrant neighbourhoods, and a rich blend of cultures, it’s a destination that captures the imagination of visitors from around the world.

The city is situated on the Cape Peninsula, flanked by the Atlantic Ocean to the west and the Indian Ocean to the south. The scenic drive along Chapman's Peak, with its dramatic cliffs and coastal vistas, is a taster of the breathtaking scenery that characterises the region.
The city is framed by the iconic Table Mountain. The mountain not only provides a stunning natural backdrop to the urban landscape, but also offers hiking trails and a cable car ride, allowing visitors to take in panoramic views from the top.

The city’s history is deeply intertwined with the broader narrative of South Africa's struggle against apartheid. Robben Island, located just off the coast, served as a prison for political activists, including Nelson Mandela. Today, the island is a museum and a symbol of South Africa's journey to democracy. Another noteworthy museum is the District Six Museum, which tells the story of a neighbourhood forcibly cleared during apartheid. It serves as a powerful reminder of the resilience of the city’s people in the face of adversity.

Cape Town is a city that constantly evolves and embraces innovation. The Victoria & Alfred Waterfront is a vibrant hub of shopping, dining, and entertainment. The Zeitz Museum of Contemporary Art Africa (MOCAA), housed in a repurposed grain silo, stands as a testament to the city's commitment to contemporary artistic expression, showcasing the work of African artists and contributing to the global dialogue on modern art.

The diverse population and rich history of Cape Town is reflected in its diverse culinary scene. From the vibrant flavours of Cape Malay cuisine to the fresh seafood harvested from the surrounding oceans, the city offers a culinary journey that tantalises the taste buds. The Cape Winelands, just a short drive from the city, boast world-renowned vineyards and wine estates, inviting visitors to taste the fruits of the region's fertile soils while taking in views of rolling hills and picturesque landscapes.

From the majestic Table Mountain to the vibrant neighbourhoods steeped in history, from the cultural richness of its people to the modern dynamism of its entrepreneurial spirit, Cape Town is a testament to the resilience of the human spirit and the beauty that emerges from embracing diversity. Whether you are a nature enthusiast, a history buff, a culinary connoisseur, or someone seeking the pulse of a vibrant city, Cape Town invites you to explore its landscapes and delve into its stories.
