Nestled in the most beautiful location, just a stone’s throw from some of the world’s best skiing and endless entertainment options, Chalet Anneliese is a lucky find for any large group of friends or family.
Three-storeys of traditional comfort, style and elegance, with tasteful décor, high-quality furnishing and every bit of Savoyard charm you could dream of. A large fireplace, wood and stone interiors and soft tones of lilac and grey compliment the wood-panelling throughout the home. The large dining area, designed in an open-plan style with the main living spaces, offers a perfect place to gather the whole group for some quality time.
An American-style kitchen is fully equipped with all modern amenities, including a stove, oven, microwave, dishwasher, fridge, plus all crockery and pans, giving you the option to prepare your meals for a cosy night in.
All six enchanting bedrooms accommodate two people, with either one double or two single beds, and five enjoy fabulous en-suite facilities. The bathrooms are as luxurious as the main chalet, demonstrating the same attention to detail, with soft lighting, neutral tones and good-quality facilities. In each of the five bathrooms, you will find complimentary dressing gowns, slippers and toiletries for all guests!
Many of the rooms enjoy access to a terrace, from which you can admire the breath-taking views. There is also private parking on site for those with access to a car, which we would generally recommend.
For when you fancy exploring a little further afield and indulging in some of the many entertainment and retail options nearby, the centre of Alpe d'Huez is about 1 km away, while the slopes and main lift is 500m walk away. Between these two well-developed areas there are numerous bars, restaurants and boutiques, as well as a swimming pool, leisure centre, ice rink and cinema. A free shuttle bus frequently runs to the resort centre and Berangere lif, keeping you easily connected.
What you should know…
- Ski-out includes a very short blue run down to the Bergers lift, so complete novice skiers are better off getting a free shuttle to the ski-school meeting point
- You’re a little way out from the local village, with a walk back up the hill to get home – unless you take advantage of the free shuttle bus!

Just under 2 hours from Grenoble airport, you can access this resort with ease, from anywhere in the world! Alpe d'Huez ski area encompasses an altitude range of 1130m-3330m, including one of Europe’s largest nursery areas, ideal for beginners, as well as a huge range of blue and red pistes.
Around the resort you will find the gentler slopes, where beginners can start to find their feet, while those more experienced can head straight to the lifts at Les Bergers, your gateway to the 250km of linked pistes on offer, including 17 black slopes, 39 red slopes, 38 blue slopes and 41 green slopes!
Resort hosts a wide variety of eateries, from pizzerias and cafés to more high-end restaurants, and everything in between! By night, the town comes alive – with pubs, clubs and often live music events, you can be sure to find the perfect spot to dance, sing and party late into the night. With five ski resorts in total and two traditional mountain villages, there’s plenty of action and something for everyone!
Of course, Alpe D’Huez is famous as a winter sports paradise, but there are endless activities on offer all year round! The range of activities for you enjoy depends on the time of year you choose to visit. The Palais des Sports leisure centre available for a range of indoor sports, as well as offering an ice rink and a swimming pool! Out on the mountain, you can try some thrilling sports, including ice climbing, snowmobiling, ski joëring and husky sledging – and even paragliding or a helicopter ride is on the menu if you’re feeling brave!
For a slightly slower pace, simply treat yourself to a trip to the spa in the local town. And that’s just on land!
Chalet Anneliese is the perfect choice for families, with great relaxation facilities on site as well as tons of activities to enjoy in the local area and the unspoilt natural landscape of Alpe D’Huez. For a relaxing afternoon, retire to the wonderful private sauna where you can relax and unwind after days out on the mountain!
Across the undulating, beautiful landscape you will find endless opportunities for an active day out with all the family, all year round! You can ski directly onto the gentle slopes around the resort, right outside your front door! In addition to tons of exhilarating winter-sports like husky-sledging and ice-climbing! Meanwhile, indoors at the local sports centre, the Palais des Sports, you will find all manner of facilities for the whole family to enjoy, including climbing, squash, tennis, indoor and outdoor swimming and badminton, as well as an ice rink in the winter!
