Surrounded by wild, snow-capped peaks of the French Alps, Chalet Mutsu is a glamorous eight-bedroom ski retreat for fifteen. Located in scenic Alpe d’Huez, it is an idyllic retreat for winter sports enthusiasts in all seasons.
Tastefully mixing the earthy charm of an Alpine snow cabin with the luxuries of modern travel, the chalet exudes warmth and comfort. Spread over three floors, it boasts a gorgeous wood-panelled decor, with exposed beams. Do not miss the wellness area, an entire floor fitted with a hot tub and sauna, perfect for relaxing with a glass of locally harvested wine.
The living room is bright and roomy, with black leather couches, soft mood lighting, and large French windows allowing ample natural light. Savour panoramic vistas of snow-draped mountains from the airy balcony and unwind before the TV indoors. Make most of the soothing indoor dining area, perfect for cosy meals with the family.
Show off your culinary skills in the open-plan kitchen, fully-equipped with wooden countertops and modern cabinetry. It includes an oven, hob, dishwasher, fridge, freezer, microwave, toaster, Nespresso machine and coffee percolator.
Sevon of the eight bedrooms sleep two guests each in twin beds, boasting a quintessentially cabin-like feel. There is one twin bedroom on the lower ground and a pair of twin bedrooms on the ground floor. The first floor boasts four bedrooms with twin-beds, plus an additional single bedroom. All bedrooms come with spacious en-suite bathrooms.
Those working from home can avail the chalet’s free Wi-Fi.

About the surrounding area of Chalet MutsuNestled in the pristine, high altitude ski resort of Alpe d’Huez, Chalet Mutsu is a family-friendly winter escape. Tucked away in the village of Vielle Alpe, its proximity to the slopes means that you can literally step onto the piste every morning.
You’ll find a flurry of ski schools and ski lifts nearby, with the tourist office only a short distance away.
Bathed in warm sunlight, it is a haven for snowboarders and ski bikers. While there are tons of options for beginners, advance skiers can’t miss the Sarenne Black Run, known to be the longest black run in the whole of Europe.
In summers, indulge in a host of activities like rambling, mountain biking, via ferrata, horse riding, fishing and pool swimming.
The chalet is close to various restaurants in Alpe d'Huez, catering to all tastes and budgets. Dig into homemade muffins and crepes at La Mere Michel Café (3 min), a charming local cafe. The restaurant in Chamois d'Or hotel (5 min) specialises in gourmet French cuisine, with cheese boards and grilled fish being a fan favorite.

Just under 2 hours from Grenoble airport, you can access this resort with ease, from anywhere in the world! Alpe d'Huez ski area encompasses an altitude range of 1130m-3330m, including one of Europe’s largest nursery areas, ideal for beginners, as well as a huge range of blue and red pistes.
Around the resort you will find the gentler slopes, where beginners can start to find their feet, while those more experienced can head straight to the lifts at Les Bergers, your gateway to the 250km of linked pistes on offer, including 17 black slopes, 39 red slopes, 38 blue slopes and 41 green slopes!
Resort hosts a wide variety of eateries, from pizzerias and cafés to more high-end restaurants, and everything in between! By night, the town comes alive – with pubs, clubs and often live music events, you can be sure to find the perfect spot to dance, sing and party late into the night. With five ski resorts in total and two traditional mountain villages, there’s plenty of action and something for everyone!
Of course, Alpe D’Huez is famous as a winter sports paradise, but there are endless activities on offer all year round! The range of activities for you enjoy depends on the time of year you choose to visit. The Palais des Sports leisure centre available for a range of indoor sports, as well as offering an ice rink and a swimming pool! Out on the mountain, you can try some thrilling sports, including ice climbing, snowmobiling, ski joëring and husky sledging – and even paragliding or a helicopter ride is on the menu if you’re feeling brave!
For a slightly slower pace, simply treat yourself to a trip to the spa in the local town. And that’s just on land!

Best Suited For: All AgesThe chalet is ideal for kids of all ages. They can build snowmen, play-fight with snowballs and enjoy various activities in Alpe d’Huez like hiking, horse riding and cycling.
Owing to its central location, the chalet is also at a striking distance from nursery slopes, vibrant ice-skating rinks and other kid-friendly winter activities. Make sure to check with the staff for details about ski schools and kid-friendly ski areas in the neighbourhood.
Children will love the creamy fondues at La Fondue en Folie (3 min).
