High up in the idylic setting of Alpe d'Huez Grand Domaine, this type of chalet offers a haven of peace for a large group of friends or family seeking little fresh air and an active holiday.

Approaching the chalets, you will be mesmerised by the surrounding landscape and the sublime views in every direction. From snow-covered mountains to flourishing flowers and shrubs, there’s something special to see in every season!

Stepping inside, take a moment to enjoy the comforting scent of the open fireplace, perfectly positioned in a home in the cosy, Alpine style, with wood-panelled walls and ceilings and beautiful complementary dining and coffee tables. There is also a satellite TV.

You will enjoy fantastic, quality time throughout the social area, which encourages free-flowing conversation through  its open-plan design with a comfortable lounging and dining area. A large dining table gives a place for the group to gather at meal times, while an American-style kitchen, fully equipped with all modern amenities, including stove, oven, microwave, dishwasher, fridge, plus all crockery and pans, allows guests to prepare meals together. With so much space, this is truly the ideal home for a large group of family or friends looking to visit the famous slopes of Alpe D’Huez!

In this chalet type there are eight lovely bedrooms, each complete with tasteful décor with bright and airy interiors and some sublime views of the surrounding mountains! There are seven bedrooms with either one double or two single beds, and one more with both a double and a single bed. Each has an adjoining bathroom so there’ll be no queueing for the shower or bath in the morning! In each of the eight bathrooms, you will find complimentary dressing gowns, slippers and toiletries for all guests.

The terrace provides fantastic views of the towering mountains, often snow-capped, while the sauna is the best place to relax and unwind after a day exploring the many activities of the lovely natural surrounds.

The centre of Alpe D’Huez itself is just 1km away, offering numerous bars, restaurants and boutiques, as well as a swimming pool, leisure centre, ice rink and cinema. Meanwhile, a free shuttle bus runs frequently to the resort throughout the day, keeping you easily connected.

What you should know…

  • Ski-out includes a very short blue run down to the Bergers lift, so complete novice skiers are better off getting a free shuttle to the ski-school meeting point
  • You’re a little way out from the local village, with a walk back up the hill to get home – unless you take advantage of the free shuttle bus!

Just under 2 hours from Grenoble airport, you can access this resort with ease, from anywhere in the world! Alpe d'Huez ski area encompasses an altitude range of 1130m-3330m, including one of Europe’s largest nursery areas, ideal for beginners, as well as a huge range of blue and red pistes.

Around the resort you will find the gentler slopes, where beginners can start to find their feet, while those more experienced can head straight to the lifts at Les Bergers, your gateway to the 250km of linked pistes on offer, including 17 black slopes, 39 red slopes, 38 blue slopes and 41 green slopes!

Resort hosts a wide variety of eateries, from pizzerias and cafés to more high-end restaurants, and everything in between! By night, the town comes alive – with pubs, clubs and often live music events, you can be sure to find the perfect spot to dance, sing and party late into the night. With five ski resorts in total and two traditional mountain villages, there’s plenty of action and something for everyone!

Of course, Alpe D’Huez is famous as a winter sports paradise, but there are endless activities on offer all year round! The range of activities for you enjoy depends on the time of year you choose to visit. The Palais des Sports leisure centre available for a range of indoor sports, as well as offering an ice rink and a swimming pool! Out on the mountain, you can try some thrilling sports, including ice climbing, snowmobiling, ski joëring and husky sledging – and even paragliding or a helicopter ride is on the menu if you’re feeling brave!

For a slightly slower pace, simply treat yourself to a trip to the spa in the local town. And that’s just on land!

Security deposit €750 charged to client’s credit card by the owner upon arrival and refunded 15 days after departure, subject to full inspection.

Pets welcome? On request only and with prior agreement with the owner. If accepted, a pet supplement of €5 per pet per day will apply (payable locally).
End of stay cleaning included? Yes. However, guests are required to leave the accommodation clean, tidy and in the same condition as on their arrival. Any extra cleaning, laundry, maintenance and/or rubbish disposal required will be charged against the security deposit.
Smoking Allowed? Outside only.
Insurance Guests are required to be in possession of a valid insurance policy, which covers them for cancellations, personal belongings, public liability and any accidental damage caused during their stay.
