Villa Lianor is a lovely villa with a white-washed exterior set in luscious private grounds on the intriguing Tróia Peninsula, just moments from a golden stretch of beach.

This home has been designed with indoor-outdoor living at its heart, so guests can maximise their time in the Portuguese sunshine. The living areas are set over an airy, open-plan space, finished tastefully while being sympathetic to the local style with exposed traditional stone, terracotta tiles and open fireplace. The villa has a laid-back vibe ideal for families or groups, while every little touch of comfort has been thoughtfully considered.

With comfortable seating and large dining space, guests will immediately relax into the local pace of life; the villa is infused with natural light, while the large French windows allows the outside to merge seamlessly inside.

Ambient lighting, natural accents of ochre tones and that beautiful local stone give this villa an authentic and homely feel. The kitchen is large and well equipped with top range appliances, so guests will have no excuse to whip up delicious holiday feasts.

This home can accommodate twelve guests, over six bedrooms. Five of the bedrooms offer double beds, while the sixth comes with twin beds - perhaps the latter is an excellent choice for youngsters in the group! Each bedroom has its distinct accents of colour and beautiful views - the family can spread out here.

Villa Lianor comes into its own in the outdoor spaces. Outdoor living is the way of life here, with the built-in barbecue, children outdoor play area, beautiful green lawns and lush flowering plants, palm trees and fragrant pine trees, guests will find they slip into the Mediterranean lifestyle.

There is ample terrace space, shaded for alfresco dining, with large comfortable sofas, hammocks and day beds. There is a daybed gazebo in the shaded end of the lawn space, as well as a charming balcony that leads from the kitchen.

The gardens are well-maintained, and the pool sets the space off to perfection. Imagine sitting back as the sun goes down on the terrace with a glass of local wine, looking across the beautiful lawns!

If a spacious, comfortable family space is what you are after, where every detail has been covered, on the doorstep to some of Portugal’s most beautiful beaches, look no further!

Located ten kilometres from Comporta, on the Tróia Peninsula, Villa Lianor provides a beautiful base to one of the most exciting and vibrant parts of Portugal.

Comporta is Portugal’s answer to St Tropez; it has a chic laid-back vibe with wonderful restaurants and pristine sands backed by windswept dunes - a designer’s haven.

This region of Portugal is ideal for water sports enthusiasts, whether it be canoeing, snorkelling, diving or surfing, the area is a water lovers paradise.

The beauty of the Lisbon coast is that it provides a breezy escape from the capital, whilst being home to some of Portugal’s historic jewels, which attract thousands of visitors: the ancient walled town of Obidos, the 12th century monastery at at Alcobaca, the Catholic pilgrimage site of Fatima, and the fairytale palaces of Sintra.

There are many attractive towns to visit along the Lisbon coast, such as the beautiful former fishing village of Cascais, the vibrant resort town of Estoril, or the surfer’s paradise Carcavelos or romantic town of Sintra.

Taking the Atlantic road from Ericeira to Peniche, down to the pretty, well-heeled town of Comporta, visitors will come across small harbour villages, hilltop castles, estuary reserves with flocks of flamingoes and mile upon mile of beach.

Sintra deserves mention; perched above wooded slopes, it is known for its turreted palaces, the most famous being the ornate Palacio Nacional and the pink and yellow Palacio da Pena. The town’s cool hilltop air has long attracted writers, artists and poets.

THE REGION

The Troia Peninsula is one of the most beautiful coastlines of Portugal, with a 13 km stretch of pristine sands, crystal clear waters and pine forested sand dunes. Reachable by ferry from Setubal, the pristine setting of the Tróia Peninsula is unquestionably one of Portugal’s best-kept secrets.

Sheltered by mountains, the Troia Peninsula enjoys a mild microclimate. The Reserva Natural do Estuario do Sado covers part of the peninsula and is a good place to go birdwatching. The waters around the peninsula are home to a school of bottlenose dolphins. Dolphin-watching trips leave from the marina, or you may even spot them gambolling in the surf on the ferry trip across the estuary.

ABOUT THE LISBON COAST

The Lisbon Coast is a sensational stretch of golden beaches, wave-lashed cliffs and vibrant seaside towns – but there's more to the Atlantic coastline than that. Delve beneath the surface to discover hidden coves, family-owned seafood restaurants and pristine natural parks.

The coast around Lisbon provides an easy, breezy escape from the capital, whose proximity has made it the stomping ground of kings for the last 1,000 years. In summer, Lisboistas stream into elegant Comporta and Cascais to escape the heat of the city; year-round, surfers hang loose on the coast, waiting for the rollers to crash down on the sand.

But while you're enjoying one of our fantastic villas on Lisbon Coast, you may well want to take some time out from all that sun worship to explore everything else the region has to offer – so we've put together this handy travel guide to give you a little help and inspiration!

  • Lovely villa

    on 13/08/2018

We had two weeks in this villa in August. It is a lovely villa, with lots of space and a good big kitchen and outdoor barbecue space at the back. The pool is not very big, but it's ok as long as you don't have lots of big teenagers. The surrounding area is fantastic with really beautiful beaches and places to eat out in Comporta as well. The villa manager was brilliant, very helpful with every question we had. There are only four sun beds, but the villa sleeps 10, so just be aware of that. We had a really great holiday and the villa is right opposite a great little shop with cafe and bakery selling fresh coffee and croissants etc. We definitely recommend this villa for families with children.
