In between you will discover Praia do Guincho, the famous surfing beach with dramatic, natural scenery. THE REGION

A coastal town just 20 miles west of Lisbon, Cascais was once a small fishing village, but its idyllic scenery attracted the attention of artists, writers and expelled European nobility in the 20th century. Today, it still attracts high society, but all society comes into force to enjoy the gorgeous beaches and adventure options like sailing and surfing.

Cascais also sits just west of Lisbon and right on the edge of the Sintra-Cascais Natural Park, meaning there are ample opportunities for exciting day trips. When you’re not off an excursion up the coast, you’ll find Cascais has plenty of its own allures. Take your pick of gorgeous sandy coves, wander around culture-packed art centres, book a surfing lesson or sit down to dine on some of the best food in the region.

ABOUT THE LISBON COAST

The Lisbon Coast is a sensational stretch of golden beaches, wave-lashed cliffs and vibrant seaside towns – but there's more to the Atlantic coastline than that. Delve beneath the surface to discover hidden coves, family-owned seafood restaurants and pristine natural parks.

The coast around Lisbon provides an easy, breezy escape from the capital, whose proximity has made it the stomping ground of kings for the last 1,000 years. In summer, Lisboistas stream into elegant Comporta and Cascais to escape the heat of the city; year-round, surfers hang loose on the coast, waiting for the rollers to crash down on the sand.

But while you're enjoying one of our fantastic villas in Lisbon Coast, you may well want to take some time out from all that sun worship to explore everything else the region has to offer – so we've put together this handy travel guide to give you a little help and inspiration!

  • A Hidden Gem with Extra Perks

    on 09/06/2023

The villa is a great place to stay with family. There were a lot of extra amenities not listed, such as a dryer, a changing table, and much more. I can definitely recommend this place. Also for people with less mobility as there is an elevator present. The hosts were also very proactive in communicating, which felt very welcoming. Only a slight issue with one of the keys not working well, but hopefully it will be solved for the next guest. Miguel and Paulo thank you so much for all your help!

  • Perfect villa for nearby Golf

    on 11/07/2021

The was in a perfect position for a great holiday and golf, it offered everything we needed would definitely recommend it other golfers or families.

  • Well equipped, spacious villa

    on 25/10/2020

reat villa which comfortably housed 8 of us for a week - plenty of bathrooms, good communal space including outdoor eating area, and a lovely pool. The elevator between floors was an added bonus since one of our party has mobility difficulties. Located in a lovely neighborhood of Cascais, walkable to the restaurants at Guincho but a drive to the centre of town and beaches (we used Ubers - they were only a few euros for a trip). A great place for a family holiday!

  • Easy to recommend

    on 15/07/2019

Excellent accommodation with all the facilities we could possibly need. Good, quiet location. We had a perfect holiday - thank you. Easy to recommend.

  • Fabulous villa for all the family

    on 07/07/2019

Great location, fabulous space and very well appointed villa. Very easy in terms of assistance and greetings from check-in to check-out!! Definitely a return visit soon!

  • Lovely villa in a quiet area of Cascais. Ideally situated for Cascais, Lisbon, Sintra and beaches

    on 27/08/2018

I probably would have given 4.5 stars if i could as the villa is lovely. In fact, there seem to have been some additions to the description online which made it even better. The villa thankfully had aircon (through the record heatwave), a new large TV with Netflix and cable TV and 3 adult bikes (all of which i was told were not there pre-booking ?!?!). For me, it lost a half star as the pillows were poor (personal preference maybe, but they were far too soft for any of the 6 of us who stayed there). It also lacked a feeling of 'home' as there was little to show that it belonged to anyone and was in fact slightly soul-less for this. For a villa of this price i might have expected a little bit more 'extra special additions'. That said, these are quite minor issues and they certainly didn't spoil our holiday. The villa is situated in a quiet area, but with a couple of decent Portuguese restaurants and a supermarket within walking distance, it is a short drive into Cascais centre, but ideally situated for access to the wonderful Guincho beaches.

  • Fantastic house and pool with so much space!

    on 29/04/2018

There were 7 of us staying here - 3 of them children - and the owner produced great toys and equipment for them to help them enjoy there stay. There were a high chair and cot for the little one and brightly coloured spoons and plates and even a "potty". The pool isn't heated so I was the only one brave enough to swim, but the weather hadn't been good enough to get the pool going. We were within walking distance of a supermarket and the wonderful beaches were a short drive away. Cascais was a short walk from a free car park too and is a lively little resort with many eateries, a lovely park, museums, and churches. We visited Sintra - the Monserrate Palace and wonderful gardens - driving along the coast and into the hills - beautiful views! Also, Lisbon is an easy drive along the coast road or by train and "oh those little custard tarts"! We had everything we needed in a lovely quiet location and really enjoyed our stay. Many thanks.
