Troia Atlantico is based just a stone’s throw away from the centre of Península de Tróia, giving guests a prime opportunity to explore this decadent area in depth. THE REGION

The Troia Peninsula is one of the most beautiful coastlines of Portugal, with a 13 km stretch of pristine sands, crystal clear waters and pine forested sand dunes. Reachable by ferry from Setubal, the pristine setting of the Tróia Peninsula is unquestionably one of Portugal’s best-kept secrets.

Sheltered by mountains, the Troia Peninsula enjoys a mild microclimate. The Reserva Natural do Estuario do Sado covers part of the peninsula and is a good place to go birdwatching. The waters around the peninsula are home to a school of bottlenose dolphins. Dolphin-watching trips leave from the marina, or you may even spot them gambolling in the surf on the ferry trip across the estuary.

Península de Tróia is a bustling region that has the ability to help children craft a variety of fond and lifelong memories. If you are looking to blend in more with the locals, a trip to Mercado do Livramento is a perfect option. This market is best recognised for its immense collection of azulejos. These are quaint hand-painted tiles that work to depict Portugal’s most crucial events. As such, this is a great place to visit if you are looking to learn more about this inviting region from a more creative and intimate perspective. This market is also teeming with fresh produce, including fish, vegetables, and meat. Thus, guests are free to pick up a few ingredients to use in their own cooking back at the villa. Mercado do Livramento is situated just under an hour away from Troia Atlantico.
 
The Roman City of Cetobriga is a truly awe-inspiring attraction that is even placed on the UNESCO Tentative List and is soon to be transformed into a tremendous World Heritage Site. This city was once a vibrant hub of activity and commerce, allowing guests to observe a collection of well-preserved artefacts such as traditional baths and tombs. Dating back to 1 BC, this is a pivotal landmark to visit if you wish to deepen your understanding of this area and wish to discover how the previous generations managed to cope under ferocious Roman rule. The Roman City of Cetobriga can be found around an hour away from the villa.
 
This area is often commended for its vast selection of glorious beaches, such as the immense Galapihnos beach. Here, you will be inundated with crystal-clear water and an abundance of soft golden sand, making it a fantastic place for the grown-ups to recharge their batteries whilst the children build countless looming sandcastles. If you are travelling by car, guests must park in the local car park and walk a short distance toward the beach. For those travelling during busier seasons, such as during the summer, a lot of companies run local shuttle services for an added sense of convenience. Galapinhos beach can be found just over an hour away from the villa.

These terms and conditions may be amended from time to time.

Security deposit €2,000 charged to client’s credit card by the owner before/upon arrival and refunded two weeks after departure, subject to full inspection.
Arrival time Between 3 - 8 pm, arrivals out of schedule will have an extra cost of €50 to be paid directly to the owner.

End of stay cleaning included? Not included on the rental price, extra €600 to be paid with the balance to OT. However, guests are required to leave the accommodation clean, tidy and in the same condition as on their arrival. Any extra cleaning, laundry, maintenance and/or garbage disposal required will be charged against the security deposit.

  • Lovely house

    on 26/06/2023

    House is lovely, however we did have a few issues when settling in...

    1. We requested that one of the rooms be spit into 2 beds, was told that is not possible. Upon check in they said if they had known we needed a room split they have done that ahead of time.
    2. We almost didn't get Wi-Fi login info as this was shared ahead of time With Oliver's but not conveyed to us. Agent checking in assumed we already had it.
    3. We are sitting in a massive construction site. Houses being built on all sides-some sort of disclosure ahead of time would have been appropriate
    4. Technology does not seem sorted out. Safe doesn't work. Front door power lock does not work. Air con has error codes

    Otherwise the house is lovely and near beach. Looks like this will be a lovely community in another year or two.
