Casa da Fontal is a charming villa set in a spacious estate comprised on a traditionally-styled house. Located less than an hour's drive from the centre of Lisbon, the Casa da Fontal is the perfect sanctuary for those looking to relax along the Lisbon Coast within easy reach of the city. With space for up to 10 guests between five bedrooms, the villa offers the perfect mix of private retreats and sociable communal spaces.
Stepping into the villa, you are greeted by a spacious living and dining room with a double-height ceiling and large sliding doors allowing natural light to stream into the room. The fireplace is the central feature of the room and is surrounded by comfy sofas, perfect for cosying up in the evening after long days out exploring the surrounding area. Also on the ground floor, you will find a large kitchen and dining area equipped with everything you need to cook up a feast during your stay. The first of the bedrooms is on this floor and has its own private entrance, great for those seeking a bit more peace and quiet. This bedroom has plenty of built-in storage and is home to a double bed and a modern en-suite bathroom.
Moving up to the first floor, you will find two double bedrooms and a twin bedroom sharing a spacious family bathroom. The twin bedroom has an additional small bed that would suit small children, making the room perfect for siblings or friends to share. All the bedrooms are decorated with wooden furniture and colourful soft furnishings that bring brightness into each of the bedrooms. The master bedroom is also on this floor and boasts a sumptuous double bed and en-suite bathroom as well as large built-in wardrobes, so pack as much as you like!
The outside space is where Casa dal Fontal really comes into its own. A large terrace wraps around the private heated pool and is lined with sun loungers for guests to make the most of the Portuguese sunshine. The long veranda is perfect for afternoon siestas or evenings dining alfresco, enjoying the feasts prepared on the barbecue. There is also a generous lawned garden with a putting green so you can practise your golfing skills without even leaving the comfort of the villa!

Location
About the surrounding area of Casa da FontalCasa da Fontal is located 3 km from the centre of Sesimbra, a town famed for its fabulous seafood and numerous coffee shops. And within 20 minutes walk, you will reach Sesimbra Castle, which built with a Moorish design between 8th - 11th Century and enjoys grand views of the coastline. The bay of Sesimbra is a short drive away and is a great destination for watersports, swimming, snorkelling and scuba diving. Praia da California can be found here and boasts clear waters and white sand, perfect for a day out from the villa.
For golf lovers, there are three championship courses within easy access of the villa; Quinta do Peru (17 km), Aroeira I & II (26 km) and Tróia (34 km). And if you enjoy hiking, then Serra da Arrábida is home to fantastic walking trails with views over the stunning Sado estuary.

THE REGION
Set on a curving turquoise bay just 40 km south of Lisbon, Sesimbra is both an attractive fishing town and a popular tourist resort within easy reach of the capital. Sesimbra is one of the finest beach resorts in Portugal. It is adored by the Portuguese who flock to the region for their holidays, drawn by the pristine beached, relaxed atmosphere and outstanding seafood restaurants.
Near Sesimbra, there are the beaches of the Arrábida Natural Park, which are considered among the most beautiful beaches in Portugal. The most famous one is Praia do Figueirinha, a long sandy shore kissed by calm and crystalline waters.
The outstanding beaches and tourist attractions make Sesimbra an enjoyable family holiday. Around the region, there is much to visit, like Cabo Espichel headland or a scenic drive through the Arrabida hills and a visit to the paradise beaches of the Portinho de Arrabida.

Best Suited For: All AgesKids will relish the opportunity to stay at Casa da Fontal. The large lawned garden provides plenty of space to run around and play - a game of hide and seek will definitely be in order! For those who love sports, the putting green provides the chance to practise your putting without even leaving the villa. And with a golf course just a short drive away, this is the perfect way to hone in your skills before heading out on the course.
The swimming pool is sure to be a hit with the whole family and will provide hours of entertainment for the kids (and kids at heart). With sun loungers lining the pool, adults can keep a quiet eye on the kids in the pool from the comfort of a lounger.
When its time to head to bed, there are six bedrooms to choose from. Any older kids will love having their own bedroom to unwind in peace and quiet, even better if it's in a double bed! The twin bedroom is perfect for younger siblings or friends to share, and the extra bed that can be added to this room will make it feel like a sleepover!
Beyond the villa, the Praia do California is less than a 15-minute drive away and is surrounded by several bars and restaurants that make it an easy day out from the villa. A little further out and you villa reach the Serra da Arrábida that will take you along fantastic hiking trails and stunning views over the Sado estuary.
