About the surrounding area of Deluxe AlentejoDeluxe Alentejo is situated just 10 minutes away from the centre of Montemor-o-Novo, a region that is teeming with enticing landmarks and an intensely rich history. If you are a true animal lover at heart, you must take a trip to the Monte Selvagem Animal Reserve. Complete with a plethora of awe-inspiring horticulture as well as a collection of majestic animals such as goats, deer, and pelicans; this park allows guests to observe the true wonders of nature from a much more intimate perspective. In turn, guests are encouraged to explore this landscape in depth and really let their worries melt away as they focus on the beautiful sights and smells that surround them. This park is also home to a quaint coffee shop, allowing guests to enjoy a warming beverage as they look out at the inviting views that sit close by. The Monete Selvagem Animal Reserve can be found just over half an hour away from the villa.
The Dolmen-Chapel of Sao Brissos is a deeply unconventional attraction that is based just over 20 minutes away from Deluxe Alentejo. First crafted sometime in the 3rd and 4th millennium BC, this chapel was once regarded as an uncanny prehistoric tomb. In its later life, this space was transformed into an off-beat Christian cult following, helping to give the building a unique sense of mystery and flair. The building is also regarded as a Property of Public Interest after gaining prestigious status back in 1957.
Due to the large stretches of land that surround this area, it is a prime location for artisan winemaking. Quinta da Pansel is an inspiring winery that is located just under 15 minutes away from the villa. Here, guests will have the privilege of exploring its vast vineyard and deepening their understanding of how these delicious local wines are produced on a regular basis. In addition, these wines can be found in many bars and restaurants across the town centre. Thus, guests are free to indulge in a remarkable glass of wine as they soak up the native atmosphere and make small talk with the amicable civilians.

THE REGION
The plains that extend as far as the eye can see start close to the Tagus. While to the north, the pace is set by the green of the flatlands, further south; the landscape combines with the sun, the heat and a slower pace of life. This is the Alentejo.
The vastness of the landscape is dotted with cork oaks and olive trees that withstand time. Santarém is a natural viewpoint over the immensity of the Tagus. Here and there, you find a walled town, such as Marvão or Monsaraz, or an ancient dolmen to recall the magic of the place. Around the hills, low, whitewashed houses stand on small knolls, castles evoke battles and conquests, and the yards and gardens are witnesses to the Arab influences which shaped the people and nature.
In the Alentejo, the power of the land marks the time and cities like Elvas and Évora, listed as World Heritage by UNESCO, show the tenacity of the people. Perhaps this is the reason that culture and spirituality take on a singular character here. These memories of the past are also shared by other cities, such as Santarém, Portalegre and Beja, and in the former Jewish quarters, particularly in Castelo de Vide.
But you must also explore the coast. The landscape here is hilly and rugged, with small sheltered coves between the cliffs, many of which are ideal for surfing. You will also breathe the scents of the countryside here, the aromatic herbs that season the fish, seafood and other regional fare to be accompanied by the region’s excellent wines. Indeed, the entire Alentejo lives according to the rhythm of the earth.

Guests are encouraged to explore the intricacies of this landmark, marvelling at the immense clock tower and sublime guard house. Travelling to the very top of this castle, guests will be greeted with an abundance of incredible panoramic views. As a result, this is a perfect attraction to visit if you are looking to observe the wonders of this area from an entirely new perspective.
Escoural Cave acts as both a looming structure and an endearing museum, giving guests a chance to uncover a wealth of Prehistoric artefacts. During their time at this establishment, guests will be able to marvel at a range of rock paintings that seem to date all the way back to the Palaeolithic era. Thus, guests can now deepen their understanding of how this quaint region grew from its archaic roots to the charming town we see today. Guests can even enter the cave for themselves, ensuring that they can gain a more intimate and personal look at this thought-provoking structure. Escoural Cave is based just over 20 minutes away from Deluxe Alentejo.
One of the most significant landmarks within this area is Igreja de Misericordia, a stylish church that was first constructed in 1532. The exterior of this property is characterised by a series of white-washed walls, which help to give it a truly traditional look. Inside, this church is home to a gigantic statue of Nossa Senhora da Piedade, which is made entirely from a decorative slab of polychrome marble. As such, guests can explore the true intricacies of this monument as a way to uncover the rich religious history that helps to give this area a comforting and charming feel. Igreja de Misericordia is located just under 10 minutes away from the villa.
