Villa Bussola is a very spacious, traditional villa located in the characterful village of Almancil, just over 5 km from the stunning beaches of Praia do Garrao and Praia de Vale do Lobo. With eight bedrooms and two living spaces, this delightful villa sleeps up to 16 guests and offers wonderful outside space. The villa's design would particularly suit two families as each family would enjoy a little private time with two living spaces.
Almancil and its neighbouring village of Sao Lourenco are very attractive, with Sao Lourenco boasting probably the prettiest church in the whole of the Algarve. The area is known for its pottery, so visitors will enjoy their time browsing the workshops. Quinta do Lago and Vale do Lobo are well-established developments close by with excellent golf facilities, gourmet dining opportunities and spectacular beaches. Almancil is only 15 minutes from Faro airport so you will arrive at your villa very quickly.
There is private parking at the villa for up to 4 cars and a lovely garden and outside space. The decor and furnishings of Villa Bussola are very typical of the Algarve. The villa's ground floor is home to four bedrooms, one enjoying an ensuite shower room, a fully equipped kitchen, an open plan living area, and two family bathrooms. Three of the bedrooms enjoy double beds, and the fourth bedroom offers twin beds. One of the fully tiled bathrooms enjoys a bath and the other a shower. Throughout, you will find calm, neutral colour schemes and warm, wooden furnishings. The living space is drowned in sunlight through the two sets of double doors, making it feel bright and airy. Comfy sofas and chairs surround the feature fireplace. The kitchen is very spacious and enjoys a breakfast bar where guests can keep the chef company. The doors lead to the generous outside space.
The first floor is home to a further four bedrooms, of which two enjoy ensuite bathrooms. There are a further two family bathrooms as well as another fully equipped traditional kitchen and living space. Again, the two family bathrooms are well maintained, fully tiled and comprise one bath and another with a shower. The bedroom arrangements are two doubles and two twins. They feature charming wooden furnishings and enjoy views of the garden and pool.
This villa comes into its own with its outside space. There is a delightful large 10m x 5m swimming pool surrounded by sun loungers and umbrellas where you will all enjoy relaxing. You can also enjoy alfresco dining using the built-in barbecue. There are lush lawns and beds with mature plants. A table tennis table is provided for your enjoyment.
The location is wonderful, peaceful and private, yet within 15 minutes, you will be lazing on a gorgeous beach. The buzzy tourist town of Vilamoura is just 10km away.

Location
About the surrounding area of Villa BussolaAlmancil is a lovely destination where you will feel the real Algarve rather than just tourist amenities. The neighbouring village of Sao Lourenco boasts a pretty 18th-century church with fabulous Portuguese style blue and white tiles. The characterful tiles tell the story of its patron saint with the azulejo work dating back to 1730. Close to the church is the local centro cultural where you will enjoy art exhibitions and musical performances. The local pottery of Almancil and Sao Lourenco is widely renowned.
The quaint Portuguese market town of Loule is the perfect place for souvenir shopping in its Arabic inspired market. You can also buy local produce and freshly caught fish in the market. The Gothic Igreja Matriz Church is very striking. Close to Loule, you will find the magical Quinta da Tor where you can taste and buy some delicious authentic Algarvian wines.
Vale do Lobo is a very popular region in the Algarve. It was designed in the sixties with golf in mind, so there are 2 championship courses amongst the fragrant pine trees and a wonderful beachfront. The main square is brimming with charming bars and restaurants. Distinctive terracotta cliffs flank the 2km sweep of golden sands, and the rolling Atlantic waves are just waiting for swimmers and watersports fans. The challenging Royal Golf Course, 5km from the villa, will see you teeing off along the cliff edge.
The lively town of Vilamoura is a sporting haven with golf courses, horse riding, football pitches, watersports and a top tennis academy on offer. The Old Course, set in a lush pinewood, is the second oldest golf course in the Algarve. The Victoria, Laguna, Millenium, Pinhal and Vila Sol courses are all outstanding. Vilamoura’s striking, award-winning marina has played host to World Championship races, with many countries participating. The classy marina is lined with high-class bars and restaurants, and the glamorous super-yachts are a sight to see. Vilamoura boasts two amazing beaches, several of the regions leading spas and a fabulous casino.
East of Faro, the Ria Formosa Nature Park is a network of barrier islands and inlets created by constantly shifting sandbanks. It is beautiful and definitely worth the trip. Ferry boats take visitors to the little islands of Barreta, Culatra, Armona and Ilha Tavira.

THE REGION
Vilamoura has been a glamorous town ever since Roman time. Its rich history is still palpable as you walk its streets, coming upon Roman Baths and ancient murals all around town. These days, Vilamoura is still a high-class destination although it has certainly kept up with the times. Yachts dock at the large marina and travellers galavant the seaside strip hopping between bars, restaurants and the dazzling casino.
The local championship courses naturally attract a crowd of golf enthusiasts as well, and there is a large selection of other sports to enjoy in the area (including those best played out in the water). There is certainly no need to ever be bored in Vilamoura, but if it’s ultimate relaxation you’re after you won’t be disappointed. The town is alluringly close to Praia da Marina and Praia de Falesia, where the golden sand and hot Mediterranean sun is just about never-ending.

Kids
Best Suited For: All AgesVilla Bussola is a fantastic holiday villa for families. The pool will keep children happy for hours, and the table tennis table will be trendy. The villa and garden are very spacious, so there is a lot of room to play.
Besides many superb beaches, this area of the Algarve offers many water parks, theme parks and other family-friendly entertainment. Children love visiting Aquashow Park at Quarteira. Its wave pool, lazy river, flumes, slides and fairground rides are so much fun. The watercoaster ride is a combination of an overground rollercoaster and a water ride. There is a mini-train for youngsters as well as animal shows with birds of prey and snakes.
Zoomarine is wonderful, offering shows, rides, slides and a variety of pools. Environmental education is the focus of its well-reputed rehabilitation centre for marine life. The dolphin, sea lion and birds of prey presentations are delightful. Visitors can close to dolphins in the pool at Dolphin Emotions. Make sure you book in advance, though!
The Desert Pines Algarve FootGolf near Vale do Lobo is also great fun. Visitors play the golf-like course holes using their feet as clubs, kicking the ball from the tee to the green and into the cups. There are plenty of crazy golf courses around too. Almancil Go Karting enjoys an assortment of karts depending on age. Youngsters aged 13 and over will use the 200cc karts, and younger children have the junior karts. There are also two seater karts if parents would rather take the wheel. As well as karting, there are trampolines and buggy safaris.
Horse riding fans aged 4 and over can enjoy treks and tuition at Pinetrees Riding Stable. There are other stables and equestrian centers close by where you can watch horse shows, including the Vilamoura Equestrian Centre.
