The villa is a wonderful, contemporary base to return to at the end of thrilling days riding the surf or hiking along the dramatic coastline. With three beautiful bedrooms, the villa is perfect for a family of up to 6 or a group of friends.
Villa Salimao II is one of 10 villas on a tranquil development just minutes from the town centre. The condominium boasts a fabulous 12m x 6m community swimming pool, a children’s pool and splendid community gardens. The villa also enjoys a private outdoor space.
Sagres has a laid-back surfer vibe. There are plenty of restaurants and bars, but it is not touristy in the way that many resorts on the Algarve are. It is all about nature, environment and chilling. Sagres has four main beaches for swimming, surfing, windsurfing, dolphin watching and scenic boat trips. There are breathtaking landscapes throughout the stunning Natural Reserve where you can hike or cycle. Nearby are tennis facilities and golf.
The ground floor of Villa Salimao II is open-plan with a bright and airy living and dining room. The villa is modern with a neutral colour theme though there are splashes of sunny colours. The furnishings are all extremely comfortable and stylish. The dazzling, streamlined kitchen opens to the living area and also a covered outdoor dining area. There is a handy downstairs toilet. The villa enjoys private outdoor spaces to the rear, front and upstairs with a large rooftop terrace. The villa has a barbecue for alfresco dining and sun loungers to top up your tan. If you want to use the lovely community pools and garden you just step straight out to them.
A very contemporary floating staircase leads you to the bedrooms upstairs. The master bedroom is stunning with a double bed, a beautiful en-suite bathroom and access to the lovely furnished terrace with excellent views towards Martinhal Beach and the ocean. There are sun loungers and chairs on the terrace so you can relax in peace if you wish. The remaining bedrooms are both twins and share another immaculate, modern bathroom.
Villa Salimao II is very stylish and comfortable and an ideal base for a wonderful holiday in Sagres.
Villa Salimao II is part of a small development with three of our other properties, Villa Salimao I, Villa Salimao III and Villa Salimao IV, all sleeping 7 guests between 3 bedrooms. Each property can be rented individually, but the villas may also work well for larger groups looking to stay together while maintaining individual privacy.

About the surrounding area of Villa Salimao IIAdventurous holidaymakers are drawn to the remote and dramatic Sagres. The landscapes are dominated by the power of nature. Pounding waves carve into the immense cliffs and challenge surfers. The Nature Reserve offers many hiking and cycling paths. The prevailing winds can be strong, offering watersports lovers thrilling times. The beaches are pristine, with some being sheltered and peaceful, ideal for families. There is something for everyone in Sagres. Those that do not want to take on the pounding waves can enjoy yoga, hiking or just relaxing in the Portuguese sunshine.
Villa Salimao II is situated within walking distance of the spectacular Praia do Martinhal beach and the town centre. Sagres is laid-back and chilled. It has many cafes, bars and restaurants, a buzzy, colourful market, a variety of shops as well as surfboard rentals, bicycle rentals and other watersport rentals. The nightlife is very good.
Praia do Martinhal has a long stretch of sandy beach with medium-sized waves. More sheltered is Praia da Mareta with its golden sand and lifeguard during the summer. It is lined with cool bars and restaurants. Next to the harbour is Praia da Baleeira and Praia do Tonel faces west, enjoy the best of the prevailing winds. It is a surfer and kitesurfer’s paradise. Praia do Beliche is another popular surfing spot. Sagres is the ideal place to learn to surf or kitesurf.
Most visitors in Sagres take a stroll to the Sagres fortress which sits on the top of a headland to the south of Praia da Mareta. There is a delightful cliffside walk inside the fort, a lighthouse, cave and a large wind compass. Most guests also visit the barren, most westerly point of mainland Europe at Cabo Sao Vicente. You can drive, take the bus or even a tuk-tuk to visit the remote point. The lighthouse beams can be seen 35 miles out to sea. You can take a challenging one day hike from Praia do Beliche to Cabo de Sa Vicente, past Telheiro Beach and through the hamlet of Santo Antonio and back to Beliche. The circular walk, offering spectacular coastal views is approximately 6km.
The nearest golf courses to Villa Salimao II are at Espiche, Palmares, Boavista and Morgado. Espiche has a gently undulating 18 hole par 72 course. Palmares commands magnificent views of the bay of Lagos and distant Monchique hills on its par 72 18 hole course. Boavista is 20 minutes from the villa and has an impressive 18 hole par 71 championship course and Morgado is laid out in a large 980-hectare estate. It is a par 73 18 hole course. The two championship courses at Amendoeira Resort, designed by legendary names in golf Nick Faldo and Christy O’Connor, both being par 72 18 holes, are one hour from the villa.

THE REGION
Sagres sits at the southwestern tip of the beautiful Algarve coast, where it calls out to holidaymakers looking to get a little bit closer to nature. The town and its surroundings are perfectly tranquil, making this destination ideal for those travelling with children who best enjoy beach and outdoor fun.
The town is inviting and personable, but it’s certainly not the liveliest spot on the coast. Sagres mostly has its seaside location to thank for being a hub among avid surfers, who bring life to an otherwise sleepy village.
Barely a stone’s throw from its centre, you’ll come across plenty of lovely and sheltered beaches, where you can relax in the sun and soak in the stillness. Since the area is much less crowded than central Algarve, you couldn’t find a better place for that laid-back getaway you’ve been longing for.

Kids
Best Suited For: All AgesVilla Salimao II has shared use of the delightful community pool and children’s pool. The villa is very comfortable and also has its own private outdoor spaces.
Praia do Marinhal is just a short walk away and boasts golden sand and thrilling waves. Very young children might be better on Praia de Mareta, which is more sheltered. There are many surf schools that operate from the beaches and also from Praia do Beliche, just a bit further north. Wave Sensations, Freeride Surf School, Sagres Natura Surf Camp and the International Surf School Sagres all offer one-off lessons, courses and equipment hire. Highly qualified instructors take lessons for all levels, from beginners to advanced surfers. Other watersports on offer are kitesurfing, kayaking and stand-up paddleboarding.
Boat trips can be taken from the harbour to look out for dolphins, to fish or just to explore the many caves and dramatic cliffs of the coastline. Mar Llimitado have wonderfully exciting rip boat rides. They are a team of passionate marine biologists committed to the preservation of the ocean, so the tours are educational as well as being great fun.
Sagres is a wonderful area for cycling. There are many places to rent bikes, and the impressive cliffs boast spectacular views. You can cycle to the fortress in Sagres and onto Cape St Vincent. The landscape is stunning. If you have very young children, you can hire bikes with carriages.
There is a train that goes from Sagres to Lisbon so you could also take that for an exciting trip to the vibrant city of Lisbon where you can enjoy the colourful trams, the aquarium and the interesting museums.
