Location
About the surrounding area of Deluxe PrimaDeluxe Prima is located in the charming region of Estoi, a destination that is well known for its alluring history and intriguing attractions. One of the most significant religious landmarks in this area is Cappella dos Ossos, otherwise known as The Chapel of Bones. The deeply macabre monument may be based nearly two and a half hours away, but it is an unmissable attraction for avid history lovers. Inside, this chapel is lined with over 1,200 skulls and bones, creating a morbidly curious experience. During the 19th century, the graveyards in Faro were filled to capacity, meaning that these human remains had to be impacted into the walls of the chapel using thick concrete. Although this attraction may not be to everyone’s taste, it is a truly unique and thought-provoking sight.
If you are looking for something that is a bit more calming, the Ria Formosa estuary provides a range of lagoons, marshes, and landscapes for guests to explore. This landmark was awarded a Natural Park status in 1987 and is home to a collection of rural delights. Guests can explore an array of beaches and can get up close and personal to an assortment of marine wildlife and birds. There is even a boat trip that takes guests to Cultura Island. Here, you will see an uninhabited piece of land known as Barreta Island and will have the chance to seek out seahorses in its quaint lagoon. The Ria Formosa estuary can be found just over half an hour away from the centre of Estoi.
Teatro Lethes is an authentic 19th-century theatre that is based just over 15-minutes away from the centre of the region. Although the exterior may come across as a little dated, the interior is well-preserved and timeless. The traditional seats are decorated with soft velvet, and the ceilings are covered in ornate paintings. The theatre was originally used as a Jesuit college but finally began holding performances in April 1845. Guests can book tickets to see a show in the magnificent building, and it is said that they are reasonably priced, considering the location.

THE REGION
Estoi is a fascinating little town hidden away a few kilometres from the Algarve coastline. It makes for a perfect home base while exploring the region, although there is not much going on in the village itself.
Estoi is simple and picturesque, with cobbled streets, whitewashed houses and terracotta roofs. You can begin your exploration of the region’s history right here with the Palácio de Estoi, an exquisite rose-coloured rococo palace which is open to the public and nowadays run as a hotel.
Close by there are also the ruins of a Roman villa dating all the way back to the 2nd century AD. But most of what you’ll be doing in the village of Estoi is relaxing and looking on as local life goes around you, as well as travelling to explore the Algarve on your own terms.
ABOUT THE ALGARVE
Though most people tend to see the Algarve as all about the beaches and a holiday on the Med, there’s far much more to it than that.
But while you’re enjoying one of our fantastic villas in Algarve, you may well want to take some time out from all that sun worship to explore everything else the region has to offer – so we’ve put together this handy travel guide to give you a little help and inspiration!

However, during the intense conflict of the Christian reconquest, the mosque was destroyed, and the cathedral we see today was constructed in its place.
