The enchanting Villa Calinho is a miraculous sweet escape for holidaymakers looking to spend some time away in Portugal’s lovely Algarve. The holiday home is set over two apartments and is located in Poço Barreto, in between the nearby towns of Silves and Carvoeiro.
The enormous outdoor pool benefits from elegant Roman steps leading down into the water and twenty sun lounges surrounding it for optimal sunbathing.
The pool is steeped in rich greenery, with palm and pine trees, flower hedges and luscious green grass enhancing the vast garden. The extensive garden surrounds and encircles the entire villa; therefore guests can indulge in an extravagant amount of outside space and panoramic views over the regions beautiful and vast nature.
There is also a sizeable covered outdoor dining area, equipped with a barbeque for evenings spent entertaining guests under the stars. The communal dining area contains large benches and tables with a wooden roof and elegant hanging lights for social gatherings at any time of day or night.
The living room benefits from a bright open plan design that connects it to the dining room. Villa Calinho has a clean and sleek design throughout.
The living room comprises of modern furniture surrounding a quaint brick fireplace and flat screen television, and the marble-floored dining room has minimalist furniture and opens out onto a massive terrace.
The terrace has its dining and seating area with lights for the night-time and views overlooking the garden and broader surrounding nature.
The ample kitchen has two small seating areas for enjoying breakfasts and light snacks and benefits from full windows that look out over the immaculate garden. The well-lit bedrooms benefit from simple furnishings in a minimalistic design.
This design is carried through to the bathrooms which are simple yet stylish, house plenty of room for toiletries and provide the ultimate opportunity for guests to pamper their selves.

About the surrounding area of Villa CalinhoVilla Calinho is nestled in the countryside within a 20-minute drive of the town of Lagoa. Numerous restaurants and bars are located within Lagoa but for those looking for more of a buzz, Carvoeiro is another great option nearby.
Carvoerio has a famous beach surrounded by steep and towering cliffs that is a favoured spot for holidaymakers during the summer months. Carvoeiro is a peaceful location with thrilling hiking trails, waterparks and fascinating boat tours.
Carvoeiro Boardwalk is a cliff top walk with striking cliff top views that are even more enchanting against the captivating Portuguese sunset. At night the boardwalk is lit, providing a romantic and charming trail.
For beach lovers, Praia do Vale de Centeanes is worth a visit. The golden sands of the beach are positioned right at the bottom of high cliffs, providing shelter from harsh winds and making the beach a haven for those wishing to bask in the hot sunshine.
The beach has wooden stairs that reach to the top of the cliffs and allow travellers to take in the phenomenal views of the sea and coast. Visitors can also partake in snorkelling and diving at this beach.
The town of Portimão is only 14km away from the villa and is a great attraction for its marina, old quarter and many fantastic beaches. The city holds many 19th and 20th century buildings and a mix of traditional and international shops, making it a great shopping destination.
The Museu de Portimão lay on the town’s riverfront and was once a São Francisco sardine and mackerel canning factory. The building is now a museum that provides an in-depth insight into the creation and daily production of sardine and mackerel cans, as well as the production of dried fruit. The museum also displays temporary exhibitions, especially artworks from local artists.

THE REGION
Situated some 7 km inland from the magnificent coastline for which this municipality of the Algarve is renowned, the small city of Lagoa has a rural feel that contrasts significantly with the cosmopolitan atmosphere of its popular seaside resorts.
The idyllic town is charmingly traditional and only a short distance from the popular Portimão. As well as being close to some of the best beach resorts in the region and the historic town of Silves, Lagoa holidays have ample charms of their own.
Inserted in a traditionally agricultural and important wine-producing area, Lagoa lies on a small hill rising above flatlands that allegedly once held the lagoon that gave the city its name.

Best Suited For: All AgesThe town of Carvoeiro is an excellent destination for families with safe beaches and restaurants that are child-friendly, and it is just a short drive from the villa.
Fun days out are available in the form of the Slide and Splash water park only 13km away from the villa and the Zoomarine park in Albufeira, 10km away.
Both provide an active and educational experience that will tire children out for the evening and night.
Lagos zoo with animals including a variety of species of birds, monkeys, snakes and crocodiles is also nearby.

An excellent service all round, would use again
Our party of 19 was made up of grandparents, parents and grandchildren and the Villa proved an ideal property for a weeks family holiday. The accommodations were perfect to fit the varied ages and groups with comfortable beds and large social rooms. Of course the swimming pool was the main attraction due to the lovely sunshine conditions and was enjoyed by all.
The booking online service was excellent with regular email updates throughout. The regular reminder contacts were very helpful and constructive. -

So far so good, everything suits us fine. We are all happy with the accommodations, the swimming pool and as it is only the first day we will follow this up.

Lovely Villa for our big family.
This large villa was lovely for our big family. Ages 5-70. Well equipped kitchen with 3 large fridge/freezers. Outside dining on the terrace was great. Pool area delightful. Everyone made good use of the snooker table and the table-tennis. Top quality bed linen and towels. The Manager, Gaby, was very helpful. Just one thing, there is no air conditioning. Although fans are provided in the bedrooms.

Some functional issues but overall amazing
The garden is an amazing place! The WiFi works well and the house is really comfortable. Overall it is an amazing property for the value and would recommend to anyone.

Great Villa for a family Holiday
We spent a lovely 10 days at this villa, a family party of 18. We arrived early at 10am, check in wasn't until 4pm, but were allowed use of the pool until the cleaners had finished. The villa is a great size and fully equipped, we made great use of the swimming pool, pool table and table tennis. TV had all stations and the kids loved turtle in the garden. Any issues or questions we had we just text Gaby and they were answered and resolved. We also had a late check out of 5pm which was great as our flight wasn't until the evening. Only suggestion I would make, is to have a welcome book detailing how, oven/washing machine works and local restaurants, supermarkets, beaches, markets etc. Otherwise we couldn't fault it.
