Overview
Built on a rocky headland on the sea's edge, Villa Silvija is a hidden fortress sleeping up to ten guests. A wonder to behold, the bare stones have a charm that welcomes you into your home away from home. The rustic exterior is repeated inside the villa with any modern twists to make your stay comfortable.
The main living room has authentic open beams and brick walls with stone flooring. A comfortable corner couch warms the room, aided by a chimney heater. From here, you go into the kitchen, with homey features, traditionally styled cabinets and all the modern appliances you will need. There is also a dining room within the main building, plus the benefits of Wi-Fi and air conditioning. The open stonework is repeated throughout the villa, and some bedrooms have been built into the authentic stone walls adding further character.
The four bedrooms are spread out across the villa grounds. Some are on the first floor of the villa, and others are in separate buildings built into the rocky landscape. No matter where you lay your head, you will wake up with views of the bay and the sound of the waves hitting the harbour. The bedrooms within the villa are comfortably designed with the ensuites within the room, with glass panelling separating the two spaces. The ensuites have walk-in showers.
At least one of the bedrooms is detached from the main villa, giving you some privacy with your thoughts and the spectacular views. A vast window opens up so let the sound of the waves below crash into the rooms. The ensuite is incorporated into the stonework with glass panelling separating the area from the bed. All bathrooms have starter kits, and towels are included.
The grounds are an extension of the villa's character. There are seven terraces to choose from. Each has a function, some providing shade from the sun with the pine trees, others helping you soak up the rays' warmth with sunbeds. Another has an outdoor dining area to enjoy your delicious feasts alfresco. Down a steep set of stairs on the side of the rocky shore, you have mooring and direct access to the sea. This plot of paradise will provide peace as there are no immediate neighbours around you- you will have a slice of the Mediterranean to yourselves.

What you should know…
- The grounds of the villa are very uneven and accident-prone in places and may not be suitable for guests with poor mobility or families with young children.
- Budva and local amenities are close by and easy to access.
- At least one of the bedrooms is detached from the main villa, allowing you some private time emersed in the views.

Location
About the surrounding area of Villa SilvijaVilla Silvija lies on the coast of the small but beautifully formed country Montenegro.
Less than half an hour drive away, you can witness one of the oldest human settlements, dating back to the 5th century- Budva. Famed for its medieval walled town and sandy beaches, Budva flourishes in the summer months, making it the centre of tourism within Montenegro. It has an extensive range of architecture, with the old town’s heritage compared to the modern developments and superyachts that visit year on year. Its rich history stems from the Roman Empire and has a lot of Greek influence in the early years of the town’s development. The local food is delicious and can be easily found on the shoreline and in the town’s narrow streets. Enjoy the delicious feasts as you look over the sun setting on the Adriatic Coast.
There are many beaches dotted along the coast. The Budva Riveria surrounds the town of Budva and is the heart of Montenegro beach tourism, with twenty-one kilometres of beaches within. With cafes, restaurants, sunbeds and parasols to rent out, plus water sports in the area to entertain you, you cannot go far wrong enjoying your days in the sunshine. If you are looking for equally good but slightly quieter beaches, ones like Drobni Pijesak beach may suit you better, plus it’s closer to the villa!
Further up the coast is the famed Bay of Kotor. Take a boat trip and explore the hidden gems of the understated terracotta roof-top towns and submerge yourself amongst the mountains protecting the Bay. Journey into the Bay via kayak as a part of a tour, learn the history, see the landscape from a new perspective and make memories together that will last a lifetime. The biggest challenge will be to leave this corner of the world at the end of your stay.

About the Region & Getting There
About Budva
Budva has been celebrated for its remarkable Riviera for decades! Not only are the beaches pristine and spoilt with turquoise waters, holiday-goers are continually reminded of this destination’s antiquated past wherever they look. With mesmerising streets in the Old Town and Monasteries rising over the symbolic Adriatic rooftop-slates, tourists unite in this glorious city for treasured holidays.
First stop, the Beaches! Budva’s coastline stretches for over 20km, so you will have to meander out of the city’s medieval walls to enjoy your choice of seventeen beaches. By far the most popular of these beaches is Jaz – here you will find lots of water-based activities that extend over the 4km shore. If you’re feeling a little more adventurous, a day trip to the charming island of Sveti Nikola is urged. Not only will you experience stunning scenery, which locals liken to Hawaii, but you’re likely to see deer and rabbits. If the heat and sand is all becoming a little too much for you and the family, make sure to visit Aquapark Budva. This impressive facility not only has restaurants, shops and great views, but it also has a superb range of water related activities.
During the day, feel free to explore the Old Town. There’s lots to see and you will learn about this unique town’s history, so visit the numerous museums, the Citadel and Santa Maria del Punta Church. After some sightseeing, stretch your legs along the promenade that acts as a walkway between Budva and another of our favourites - Sveti Stefan. Perhaps stop off half way down this coastal boulevard and familiarise yourself with the Montenegrin food, which includes the well-known Njeguski Steak (schnitzel filled with Njegusi prosciutto & cheese), Buzara (shellfish & prawns) and Ispod Saca (a hearty stew). If shopping is your thing, we suggest a trip to Petrovac in order to explore the dozens of unusual boutiques that are still spoilt with prominent coastal views.
Budva does have a recognised nightlife scene, so if you fancy a cocktail in the evening then check out Mogren Beach or Maltez. Festival goers are drawn to this part of the world during late August for the intimate Sea Dance Festival.
Budva has seen some developed over recent years, but that hasn’t taken away from its 2,500-year history. If you want to be wowed by architecture, beaches and wonderful food & drink – we think you’ve found your next holiday!
Prior to Booking
As many of our regions in Montenegro are coastal, there can sometimes be some adverse weather. This tends to only really occur outside of the Peak Season though. When thinking about booking your holiday to Montenegro, please consult Foreign travel advice for more information.
Entry Requirements
Tourists who are British Citizens will not require a visa upon arrival, unless their stay lasts longer than 90 days. Please check Entry Requirements before departure.
Getting There
Sveti Stefan, Bar & Ulcinj are served by Tivat Airport and Podgorica Airport. Please note that Tivat is a smaller International Airport, which can experience overcrowding in Peak Season. Due to its proximity to Orjen & Lovćen Mountains, flights are sometimes re-directed to Podgorica Airport or cancelled in the case of bad weather.
From the UK:
Direct flights are available from London on Montenegro Airlines, easyJet, TUI, Ryanair and many others. Chartered flights are also available from several other UK airports.
From Dubrovnik, Croatia:
Connecting flights are available from Dubrovnik Airport to Podgorica Airport.
By Bus:
GetByBus operates from Dubrovnik, Tivat and Podgorica to Sveti Stefan, Bar & Ulcinj. Journeys can take up to 4 hours and 45 minutes.
Kids
Best Suited For: All AgesAlthough everyone is welcome at Villa Silvija, older families may fit the villa's layout better. It would be hard to keep an eye on the younger ones with the bedrooms spread out. The main communal space in the villa, however, consists of a spacious open plan family space, ideal for making memories that will last a lifetime. There is plenty of space for everyone to enjoy plus a cot and highchair are available for very young families. Children will love the landscape of this villa. In a stone fortress with inbuilt turrets and hidden hiding spots, their imaginations will go wild with an adventure playground to explore and discover. Pine trees offer refreshing shade from the persistent sunshine allowing them to cool off from a day of exploring. The sea breeze will lift their wings as they zoom around the private grounds.
Montenegro offers plenty to do outside the villa, including an abundance of water sports, including parasailing, kayaking tours, and boat rides. Simply swimming in the clear waters or delving deeper and giving snorkelling a go to see the creatures who inhabit the home under the waves will excite our younger guests.
