Villa Luminary is a delightful traditional 5 Bedroomed farmhouse sleeping up to 10 Guests on the sun drenched Island of Gozo, the second–largest of the Maltese Islands. Gozo offers an amazing authentic experience and a chance to get close to nature with fabulous beaches, wonderful countryside, historical sites and some of the best food on the Islands.

Reached by Ferry from Malta, Villa Luminary is located on the south side of the Island near the sleepy village of Sannat where you can meander through cobbled streets, pick up essentials and relax at charming local restaurants.

Villa Luminary is a great base for exploring, with gorgeous beaches and Gozo’s historical Capital City only a short drive away. This tranquil farmhouse is full of charm and character and offers plenty of space inside and out, as well as a beautiful private pool and luxury modern touches to ensure your escape is stress free.

Villa Luminary is one of five farmhouses surrounded by pretty shrubs and stone terraces, its warm stone walls and traditional facade seamlessly blend into the gorgeous surrounding countryside offering a taste of authentic Island life.

Flooded with natural light through large glass doors and windows, the property has open beam ceilings, rustic stone walls, and cool tiles as a backdrop for warm woods, light furnishings and tasteful accessories, creating a cosy setting and inviting total relaxation.

The open style living and dining space offers large comfy sofas where you can unwind in front of the TV and the huge farmhouse style dining table is made for lively dinner parties and fabulous feasts and faces onto the beautiful pool deck.
The Kitchen space is compact and modern and well equipped with oven, hob, microwave, fridge freezer, dishwasher and coffee machine.

Also on the Ground Floor is an airy double bedroom with en-suite bathroom, ideal for the less able or noisy teenagers!  There is also a convenient separate WC / utility room with washing machine for guests comfort.

Upstairs on the First Floor Bedrooms 2 and 3 are spacious double bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms and Bedroom 4 is a flexible twin bedroom also with en-suite bathroom.

Private and spacious Bedroom 4 is located on the Second Floor. This large double bedroom has en-suite facilities and a bonus private terrace with wonderful views, a lovely spot to watch beautiful sunsets.

Villa Luminary has a gorgeous sundeck and terrace with a large inviting pool (7.00m x 3.60m) framed by comfy loungers ideal for long lazy days. This is a lovely entertaining space so fire up the barbeque and enjoy dining under the stars on warm balmy evenings.

This is a family friendly property and there is a cot and high chair available if required. The property benefits from Wi-Fi and air conditioning and there is open-air parking for your convenience.

Gozo is Malta’s smaller, quieter and greener sister island and offers a wonderful escape in an enchanting unspoilt sunshine destination. Frequent ferry services from Cirkewwa Port on the North side of Malta and fast boats from Malta’s capital city, Valetta will take you across to this natural, unhurried oasis.

Villa Luminary is in a lovely spot close to the charming village of Sannat which is set within an area of natural beauty and is the gateway to the Ta’ Cenc plateau and Cliffs which is Gozo’s primary birding site. There are a few local bars and restaurants to enjoy and the delights of Victoria the capital City are only a short drive away.  

The Island is just 26 square miles and very easy to drive around with hardly any traffic. Gozo is blessed with some beautiful sandy beaches and the Blue Flag certified Ramla Bay is the largest sandy beach located on the north side of the Island. Surrounded by unspoilt countryside, the long, wide beach has a reddish hue next to shallow clear waters and is a popular destination for families, locals and snorkelers.

Gozo is said to have been the home to Calypso the nymph from Omer’s Odyssey and is a Mystical and magical Island to explore.

A magical attraction is Dwejra Bay, with its dramatic coastal formations and sea spilling over the rocks. Here you can swim in the stunning deep sea of the bay, in the calm shallows of the inland sea or in the foamy waters around the Blue Hole – one of Gozo’s top dive-sites. Other attractions include Fungus Rock, a 60 metre high rock feature and Dwejra Tower a 16th Century watchtower that is open to the public to explore.

The heart of Gozo lies at Citadel in Victoria the capital city. The ancient fortified town has witnessed many historical moments yet has stood the test of time and is rich in history with its own cathedral, dungeons, battlements and museums to visit. Set on one of the most central hilltops on the island you will find amazing views in all directions.

The Fortress was constructed in the 15th century and settlements have been present on the hill since the Neolithic period.

Today there is a good choice of bars and restaurants and shoppers can checkout Gozo’s only shopping Mall and daily market which is a great spot for picking up fresh local produce. Don’t leave without sampling pastizzi, Malta’s best-loved snack!

Eating out in Gozo is a real treat and there are delightful trattorias and cafes in Victoria.

Elsewhere, sample beautiful seafood restaurants in Xlendi Bay and fine dining at Mgarr Harbour.

To find the perfect gift, Ta’Dbiegi Crafts village in Gharb showcases local artists at work manufacturing lace, silver, knitwear, art, leather and glass which can be purchased at affordable prices.

Also worth a visit is Ta’Mena in Xaghra which produces DOK wines, virgin olive oil, sweet tomato paste, Jams, liqueurs and offers food tastings and tours of the vineyards, a delightful way to spend an afternoon!

Villa Luminary is an ideal property for families with the beautiful pool, rolling countryside and abundance of space for fun and games. This is a lovely sanctuary after long sunny adventures near and far exploring this enchanting Island.

Kids love beaches and Gozo has some wonderful well-kept sandy beaches within a short drive. Xlendi Beach has a lovely gently shelving bay and crystal clear waters ideal for the little ones to enjoy. Surrounded by cliffs to hike and caves to explore there are plenty of facilities and water sports available and walks along the promenade are great for souvenir shopping and tasty treats.
 
A lovely family day out is a trip to Dwejra Bay where you will discover ‘the Inland Sea ‘. For a few Euro’s you can take an exciting boat trip where you literally go through the cliff to the sea and then along the cliff to look at the various formations! Back on land you can learn all about local marine wildlife at the Dwejra Marine Environmental Education Centre where you also get the opportunity to take a virtual ‘dive into the depths of the sea. Back on the bay there are plenty of fossil sea shells to marvel at and the day would not be complete without a stop off at the Dwerja kiosk, selling some of the best ice creams on the Island!

The Tiny island of Comino, once a hideout of pirates and smugglers, sits between Malta and Gozo. The Island is a haven for swimmers and lovers of water sports and well worth a visit. You can take the hourly ferry to Comino and The Blue Lagoon which has clear blue waters surrounded by awesome caves and is a truly spectacular sight and a wonderful place to bathe in bright turquoise waters. For real water adventurers you can book a private boat to enjoy the Maltese waters or even become a skipper for the day and rent a self-drive boat!

A fun way to save tired legs and sit back and relax is to book a Tuk Tuk chauffeured tour which will take you to many of the islands tops sights including the Sannap Cliffs, Xlendi Beach and the rotunda of Xewkija.

If the kids want a change of scenery, Hop on a ferry to Valletta in Malta, which has museums, artwork and historic buildings at every turn – The Valletta sightseeing Train is a fun way to explore all the major sights and departs from St. John’s Cathedral every 30 minutes. The beautiful Upper Barrakka Gardens offer plenty of space and fabulous views and are ideal for a picnic break. And to people watch Valletta Waterfront is a lovely place to take a stroll and has many places to sit and take in the views and the sea.
