Two families travelling together might adore this playful suburban villa in Sicily, where separate quarters and beautiful shared outdoor spaces let you spread out. This old country-style home has been renovated without abandoning its charm: wooden beams, stone fireplaces, and steel casement windows remain. Your holiday villa lies hidden in a walled garden, with citrus trees and palms lining the perimeter. Relax on the electric green loungers beside the private pool, soaking in the Sicilian sun.
The outdoor life is sweet here, from the dining table on the shady terrace to the solarium. Chefs will love the poolside barbecue and wood oven - what better time to perfect your pizza technique? An outdoor shower will help the beach-goers wash off the sand (the closest beach is just 3 km away). When the day is done, you can retire to private quarters - an annex off the main house can sleep up to 6 in peace.
This family villa sits in a suburb of Marsala (6 km), famous for the eponymous fortified wine. From here you can arrange a boat to the Egadi Islands, where you can wander unspoilt villages, secluded pathways, and perhaps find a crystal clear cove for swimming.

Location
About the surrounding area of Villa DucaMarsala, from which the property is a short drive, is located in the Province of Trapani in the westernmost part of Sicily. The town is known chiefly for two things.
Firstly, it is famous for the docking of Garibaldi on 11 May 1860, during the Expedition of the Thousand. Secondly, for its exceptional Marsala wine. Though the order and significance of these is largely up to the visitor!
Marsala is built on the ruins of the ancient Carthaginian city of Lilybaion, and includes in its territory the archaeological site of Motya island, an ancient Phoenician town. At the very westernmost point of both Sicily and Marsala is its splendid archaeological museum.
The Egadi Islands are extremely worth exploring, offering much natural beauty and tranquillity. These are just off the coast, accessible by boat trips which can be arranged in Marsala. Walking around these islands it is still possible to find deserted mountain paths; secluded coves and bays with crystal clear waters.
A feature of the area is the Natural Reserve called Stagnone Lagoon — a marine area with shallow waters which create the perfect environment for salt pans. These are truly a sight to behold: a walk along the salt pans of the Stagnone at sunset offers spectacular, unforgettable views.

Excellent!
The service from the Oliver's Travels team in the UK was excellent. The concierge service was absolutely brilliant, could not fault them at all. Oliver's Travels Representative out in Sicily was a great help to us, and her service was equally brilliant so thank you to you all. The Villa had the most rustic charm with beautifully kept gardens, and the pool was of a fantastic size. The villa was clean, and when the electric gates went back, it was like our little haven. The location was good but to get to the beach, shops and good restaurants was a taxi drive away, but for us, that was not a problem as the representative in Sicily took care of this for us and our driver gave us some fantastic advice of where to go. Before this trip, I had never gone self-accommodation, but with the help and the service I received, I will be using your service again........Thank you Oliver's Travels
