Villa Elegante is a typical Tuscan retreat surrounded by tree-dotted land in the countryside close to the city of Siena. It offers the best of both worlds: peaceful seclusion with Tuscany's most gorgeous villages, towns and cities close at hand. On a hill overlooking the Val di Merse and accessed via a tree-lined avenue, rural heaven is on the doorstep.
Villa Elegante is a beautiful villa of 800 m2, able to accommodate 10-14 people, set over various floors, Villa Elegante is the perfect choice for family or friends wanting to stay in stunning surroundings. A beautiful house, expect opulent furnishings, many crafted by hand, and a real sense of Italian character and flair.
As well as ample room across its lounge and dining spaces, keen cooks will adore the brilliantly equipped kitchen which leads straight out to one of the many terraces. Enjoy outdoor feasts with loved ones by the pizza oven or even arrange cookery lessons hosted by the owner's hospitable family.
The five double bedrooms, three boasting an ensuite bathroom, include the lovely master bedroom with king-size bed, sitting area and doors to a lovely terrace. Like the rest of the villa's interior, each bedroom has an antique style, with elegant pieces of furniture and soft colours.
Upon entering the house, you immediately notice the extreme care that the owners put into every detail, elements of furniture chosen with love. Among the trees you can see the three-storey villa, while the private and equipped swimming pool remains in a more intimate and private position, behind the lemon house, in a point overlooking the hill and the villa itself, surrounded by bushes of lavender, strawberry tree, rosemary, broom: an explosion of colours and scents that captures all the senses.
At guests' disposal a small vegetable garden and chicken coop for vegetables and fresh eggs.
Imagine al fresco meals and morning coffees on the sofa with the simple sounds of nature as background music. In a slightly elevated position behind the villa is where you'll find the swimming pool. Elsewhere in the expansive grounds is a vegetable garden that's at your complete disposal and a outdoor jacuzzi to add another touch of luxury.
When you can bear to swap the sights of Siena for another amazing destination, discover what medieval Monteriggioni has to offer. The walled town with impressive castle is just over a 10-minute drive from the villa.
Other beautiful medieval towns, such as Lucignano, Montaione, San Gimignano and Volterra, are all easy to reach from Villa Elegante. Furthermore, around an hour's drive away are wine-famous Montepulciano and Montalcino, as well as iconic Florence with its rich history and culture.

- The villa sleeps up to 10 adults across five bedrooms and an additional four guests (preferably children) using the sofa-beds on the lower ground floor and the double sofa bed in large bedroom on the first floor.

About the surrounding area of Villa EleganteNestled in the countryside surrounding the city of Siena, Villa Elegante is a picture of Tuscan perfection. Utter peace and seclusion are yours, and yet amenities are incredibly easy to reach. Drive through the woods and hills of the immediate area and you'll reach the historic city of Siena just 10km away.
Siena is instantly recognisable by its wealth of medieval brick buildings. The central square of Piazza del Campo is home to the Gothic town hall, Palazzo Pubblico, and the 14th-century tower called Torre di Mangia. With its historic buildings, art and museums, Siena is a true cultural hotspot and a great place for a day out. It's also where to go to stock up on groceries and enjoy meals out with the family.
Monteriggioni is another medieval marvel, with the walled town famous for its medieval fortifications and watchtowers. The views over the lush Chianti region from the castle walls that you can walk along are sweeping and glorious. Stroll along narrow, cobbled streets and soak up centuries of history, with must-visits including the Armoury Museum and the 13th-century Church of Santa Maria Assunta. If you visit the town at the beginning of July, you may catch the famous medieval festival that features costumed locals, games, falconry displays and food stalls.
This part of Tuscany is just bursting with medieval cities, towns and villages like Siena and Monteriggioni. Other highlights that are within an hour's drive include San Gimignano (33km), Lucignano (52km), Montaione (53km) and Volterra (46km). The latter is also known for its Etruscan art, with the remains of the Etruscan Acropolis and the Guarnacci Etruscan Museum well worth visiting.
Tuscany is of course also renowned for food and wine, with plenty of vineyards to visit in the area. Montalcino (49km) is famous for its Brunello wine and Montepulciano (70km) for vino nobile red. Foodies will also want to visit the town of Pienza (70km), which has been producing delicious pecorino cheese for centuries.
The iconic city of Florence (63km) can be reached by car in an hour. There's so much history and culture here. But must-sees are the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore, the Uffizi Gallery and Michelangelo's David in the Accademia Gallery. For a longer day out, drive to hilltop Arezzo (80km) and explore its numerous medieval religious buildings, many of which boast stunning frescoes.

Best Suited For: All AgesSiena is great for a day out with the family, with lots of narrow streets and piazzas to explore. A particular highlight for children is found inside the Santa Maria della Scala museum. The Children's Art Museum has an art space with lots of interactive features, as well as educational activities and workshops.
Around 40 minutes away by car is Saltalbero Adventure Park (42km). This outdoor park is set within a leafy forest just outside Rapolano Terme and boasts a range of acrobatic trails, rope bridges and swinging logs. Also fun are the hiking trails you can follow through the woods, with a return to the park's picnic area for lunch.

From 2001: we fell in love with this place from the first moment we saw it. My parents restored the house and we lived here until I got married in 2008. My parents started to feel alone in this big house and we decided to rent it by week, to share the magic of this place with our guests.
What was it about the property that you first fell in love with?
The view and the big garden, the position that is isolated and private but at the same time so close to the town and to all services. The light…all the house is so bright!
Have you ever had any famous guests staying?

For anyone coming to stay, is there anything you suggest that they really…
Must do? Have cooking class lunch with my father at the villa: he will bring the guests in the villa’s vegetable garden, chose the vegetables and cook together for lunch or have with him a pizza party with karaoke (available on request at an extra cost.)
Must eat? Tuscan ham and salame of “Cintasenese”, Ribollita, tagliatelle al ragu and carbonara.
Must see? Siena and Santa Maria della scala museum, climb the Torre del Mangia tower, have a private tour of Florence (walking tour) with private guide, have a wine tour all organized by us. To visit San Gimignano, Monteriggioni, visit Pienza and Montepulciano, to visit Villa La Foce, Florence, Volterra.

My family and I were lucky enough to have been guests at Villa Elegante this summer. What a wonderful experience it was! From the elegant interior with its beautifully decorated rooms, marble staircase, gleaming chandeliers and perfect kitchen to the gorgeous grounds surrounding the property to the welcoming pool area - it was a dream come true! We spent many of our days comfortably lounging by the pool, ate our evening meals outside on the porch overlooking breathtaking views of the Tuscan hills, and then moved to the lovely sofas to enjoy a bottle of local Chianti after dinner. It was heavenly! We looked forward to our daily visits from the owner, Manlio, who could not have been more kind, gracious and accommodating. He actually drove us to the store the first day to pick up some basics and brought us some farm fresh eggs for breakfast. Perhaps the highlight of our stay was the celebration of my granddaughter's third birthday - Manlio had the large dining table set up on
the expansive lawn and made the most delicious pizzas you could ever imagine for all of us in the outdoor brick oven! A mouth-watering birthday cake was also purchased from the local bakery (which we visited almost every morning!). I do not believe that there could possibly be a better way to celebrate an occasion with family! The location of the villa was quite convenient to local areas (Siena, San Gimignano, Florence, etc) for day trips - however, some of us just preferred to soak up the
beauty, peace and quiet of the villa instead. We will always treasure the memories we made at Villa Elegante and hope to someday return to this paradise. If I could give this property ten stars, I would! I highly recommend it to anyone looking to rent a villa in Tuscany. Grazie, Manlio. -
Fantastic!
We rented this wonderful house for 2 weeks in May. The owners, Manlio and Chiara, are incredibly nice. The house is beautiful, spacious, and has everything you will need. 5-10 minutes from Siena, yet very secluded. The house has 5 large bedrooms on 2 levels, many bathrooms, a great kitchen, dining room, living room, exercise room and bonus room downstairs. The grounds are beautiful and there is an outdoor pizza oven and wood grill. Very convenient to Chianti region. If you are looking for a family rental, this house is fantastic.

Exceeds Expectations
This villa exceeds expectations. Seven adults stayed the last week of May, and we enjoyed the beautifully manicured grounds, splendid gardens, and lovely home. There were enough bedrooms and bathrooms for all. Mario (owner) was helpful and accommodating. The view from the back veranda was sensational; we had all of our meals out there, as well as some naps. We took several day trips to other Tuscan towns, and the location of the property was good for that. Highly recommend.
