Overview
Looking out across the hills, valleys, olive groves and vineyards that make the landscapes of this rural part of Tuscany so green and lush is hillside Villa Limona. Such a typically Mediterranean setting is matched by the villa's charming origins. Villa Limona was once a humble greenhouse for the huge estate that it sits within and underwent restoration to become the beautiful holiday home it is today.
Enjoy sweeping views and lawned, leafy gardens that are an oasis of calm connecting the villa's relaxed interior with the idyllic wider surroundings. On the doorstep are country walks through forested areas and along tranquil lanes, with sleepy villages and historic towns short drives away. The iconic city of Florence can be reached in under an hour.
The standard of finish throughout Villa Limona is excellent, with modern features creating comfort and an abundance of tasteful antique pieces adding character and heritage. The villa sleeps up to six people in three double ensuite bedrooms; with each having its own distinct personality. The ground-floor bedroom is a particularly soothing space, with a cool white and blue colour scheme, four poster bed and direct garden access. Upstairs, one of the two bedrooms opens onto a terrace that's perfect for watching both sunrises and sunsets over the hills.
Open plan, with a light feeling by day and a cosy atmosphere once evening falls, is the villa's double living space. It offers several areas to enjoy time together as well as room to find your own quiet corner. Dine inside or out, with a covered terrace running the length of the villa that has a table and chairs for relaxed al fresco meals. Walk from dining table or sofa straight into the picturesque gardens that are home to a swimming pool and a range of trees and plants – including lemon trees that reflect the villa's origins.
Villa Limona is surrounded by typically Tuscan countryside, with olive groves and vineyards rambling across the green landscapes. This particular area is also prime Chianti wine territory, with wineries not far from the villa.
Historic Bagno a Ripoli is the nearest town, with the city of Florence and all its culture and art just a 35-minute drive away. Other places to visit on longer day trips include Pisa with the famous leaning tower and Siena; known for its medieval brick buildings and Renaissance architecture.

Even better than the pictures
Wonderful place. Even better than in the pictures. Very convenient location close to Florence, Siena and the whole Chianti region. Staff were very friendly and kind. Highly recommend, either for a place to rest and enjoy loved one's company, or as a base to discover the wonders of Tuscany. Very quiet too.

Highly recommend
We had a lovely stay and quite enjoyed the villa, Florence, and the surrounding areas. The villa itself is beautifully decorated and maintained (pristine) and had everything we needed to ensure a comfortable stay with the ability to produce elaborate meals in the fully stocked kitchen.
The onsite staff were very attentive and helpful. The children thoroughly enjoyed the pool and we found great joy in riding bikes and hiking the various roads and paths near the villa.
We lacked for nothing and had a wonderful time! The views of the valley are gorgeous, particularly at night when we enjoyed dining al fresco on the lovely patio.
As a very particular traveller, I highly recommend this villa and would stay there again!
