Set in a peaceful countryside location in Southern Tuscany, Casa Quintieri is the perfect retreat to get away from it all, whilst providing an excellent base for exploring the towns and cities of Tuscany and nearby Umbria.

Casa Quintieri is a three-storey villa sleeping 17 guests in 8 bedrooms, of which four are en-suite. A further three children can also be accommodated in the loft areas of two of the first-floor bedrooms. Living spaces are also a plenty as this home has two living rooms as well as a wine cellar. Guests can also spend quality time together lounging by the outdoor pool or playing table tennis.

Home-cooked meals made in the professional kitchen can be savoured in the large dining area, or you may wish to prepare something al-fresco on the barbecue and dine under the covered seating, overlooking the breath-taking countryside views of the Cortonesian Mountains and valley. Outside, there is also a vineyard, vegetable garden and olive grove.

Casa Quintieri is a historic abode boasting many original features like wooden beamed ceilings and brick walls to transport you back to days gone by. Yet, the casa also features all the necessary mod-cons for an enjoyable and relaxing holiday, including a dishwasher, Wi-Fi and air-conditioning in all bedrooms.

The villa is ideally located for visiting many of the popular towns and cities of Tuscany and Umbria. The charming town of Cortona, is around half an hour away from the villa and is the place to go for any amenities, as well as bars, restaurants, Renaissance-era buildings and historical sites of interest.

Arezzo and Montepulciano are approximately an hour from Casa Quintieri and are also rich in history. It is worth noting that some of the most prestigious vineyards of Tuscany are also located in Montepulciano, producing the famous vino nobile wines.

Perugia and Pienza are both a little further away, but are equally worth visiting (especially for any foodies). Head to Perugia for the Chocolate Museum and Factory and to Pienza to try pecorino cheese from its hometown.

Located in Southern Tuscany and close to the border of Umbria, Casa Quintieri is well-situated for visiting the nearby hilltop towns and cities.

Cortona (15km), famous for the book and film "Under the Tuscan Sun" by Frances Mayes, is the nearest town to the villa. Here it is possible to buy groceries as well as enjoy drinks and meals in the numerous bars and restaurants that the town has to offer. The town also has other amenities such as a pharmacy, bank and tennis club.

Cortona also has many sights of interest including Renaissance-era buildings, such as Palazzo del Popolo and the cathedral, the Diocesan Museum, featuring paintings by Fra Angelic and the Etruscan Academy Museum, which holds fascinating artifacts found in surrounding archaeological sites. 600m above sea level, Cortona also boasts views of beautiful Tuscan landscapes, even as far as Umbria and Lake Trasimeno on a clear day.

Lake Trasimeno (36km) is the perfect destination for watersports including sailing, canoeing and kayaking whilst the many paths in the surrounding area are great for hiking or cycling with some fantastic scenery. Guests staying at Casa Quintieri can also take advantage of the many rural paths on the villa’s doorstep.

Other notable towns and cities reachable in approximately an hour include Arezzo (44km) and Montepulciano (46km), notorious for its vino nobile red wine. Pienza (60 Km) is a short distance further, but is worth the extra journey being the home of the delicious pecorino cheese, or head to Perugia (66km) to learn all about chocolate and the chocolate making process at the Chocolate Factory and Museum. You may even be lucky enough to try some!

  • The Most Wonderful House

    Created on 01/06/2023

This is the most wonderful house set in a dreamy position overlooking wonderful wooded Tuscan hillside. If you're looking for a spacious & comfortable house to meet with family and friends then this would be a great choice. The kitchen is commercial with a large cooker & dishwasher normally seen in a restaurant. The owner cooked us a delicious Tuscan dinner one night which I would highly recommend. Fab food effortlessly produced. The pool is particularly large commensurate with the size of the house. On a practical note the basics, salt, pepper, oil, vinegar, herbs, loo paper, soap & shower gel were provided. Cortona is about 30 minutes drive but there is a coffee bar 15 minutes away which sells the basics, bread, Italian croissant, focaccia, cold meats, wine, beer, water & more. Bread can be ordered from the very friendly owner. There is also a large restaurant next door to the coffee bar.

  • This villa will guarantee an amazing holiday!

    Created on 14/10/2022

This villa will guarantee an amazing holiday in the heart of Tuscany. The house is located on the mountain and you have lots of space for yourself. The pictures do not even do justice to the scale of the entire villa, it truly is enormous. The pool is a great way to relax. The communication with the host is also very quick and clear, if you have any questions you can swiftly expect an answer. The kitchen is amazing and it is easy to cook for large groups with great tools, pans and even an industrial dishwasher. The host has a lot of activities ready that you can do and has enough recommendations to make your stay amazing.
