The best way to discover the authentic Puglian countryside is by staying in a Trullo, a whitewashed, cone-shaped home which is only found in this part of Italy. The master bedroom of Trullo Foresta is set in one of these traditional dwellings, while the rest of the home is located within a Lamia building just next door. Sleeping six guests, or seven when utilising the sofa bed, this rural house, wrapped in pretty gardens is a wonderful base for a family trip or a holiday with a few friends.
The home is all spread over one level; the Lamia building is where you will find the open-plan living and dining area which boasts a sofa, smart TV and a dining table. This room is the heart of the home and is where you can gather together for a drink in the evenings or enjoy breakfast prepared in the adjoining kitchen before heading out for the day.
Two of the bedrooms are located in the main building, the Lamia; one bedroom with a double canopy bed and another room with two twin beds which would be ideal for the children. The master bedroom is located in the separate Trullo and is a beautiful room with original stonework, a comfy bed, a sitting area around a wood-burning stove and an en-suite bathroom.
As well as gathering indoors, guests can come together in the gardens which are split into numerous different zones. There are lawned spaces with deckchairs and hammocks which hang from the trees, a summer kitchen where you can cook up delicious meals outdoors and a number of al-fresco dining spaces. Up on the roof, you can soak in views of the surrounding countryside and the sea beyond as you take a dip in the private, rooftop jacuzzi pool. The children will love the outdoor space as there are swings, a football table and table tennis to keep them busy and lots of room for running around.
Though the villa is nestled amidst rolling countryside near to a large, wooded area, you do not have to travel far to reach the closest amenities. Just 3.5km away from the villa is the town of Fasano which has a picturesque historic centre packed with shops, cafes and restaurants as well as a number of visitor attractions.
When you wish to visit the sweeping coastline, why not drive over to the pretty seaside village of Savelletri which is 14km away. There are both pebble and sandy beaches in Savelletri as well as shops and eateries. You can also drive further around the coastline to Polginano a Mare which is 26km away. The glamourous town is a must-visit location with incredible beaches and a charming centre.
Also easily reached by the villa are the Trulli towns of Locorotondo and Alberobello which are both under 15km away. These towns, filled with bright white Trullo buildings and artisan shops are a lovely place to explore for the day and as they are small in size, you could visit both on the same day if you wish to. Just make sure to stop off for a leisurely lunch in between.

What you should know…
- One of the bedrooms is located in a separate building to the other two, this set up would suit those travelling with grandparents or another couple as the two buildings offer privacy yet plenty of space to gather together too.
- An extra guest can sleep on the sofa bed on request at an additional cost. Please see the ‘Features’ tab for further details and enquire for pricing.
- Those with little ones should be aware that the jacuzzi pool is located on a roof terrace.
- The closest amenities are 3.5km away in Fasano so we recommend that you bring a car to visit Puglia’s beaches and historic town.

Location
About the surrounding area of Trullo ForestaThis ancient Trullo, enveloped by dense forests and rural farmland is the perfect base for a Puglian escape with friends or family. Close to the home, you are able to discover the verdant natural landscape, beaches and charming towns.
The closest town to the villa is Fasano, a bustling historic town 3.5km away. Fasano has a rich history spanning back to the Roman era and the town was invaded and conquered by different settlers over the centuries. As Fasano is so close you can simply visit for a cup of coffee and a slice of cake in a pretty square or you can pay a longer visit to the town for a day of shopping and sightseeing. Here you can see the Museo della Casa alla fasanese which is a museum of local history, visit ancient churches like the 12th-century Chiesa di San Nicola di Bari and walk to the beautiful Giardini Pistola botanical gardens. On the outskirts of town, there is even a huge zoo and theme park which is a brilliant place for a family day out.
Further amenities can be found in the quaint village of Savelletri, a coastal village which also boasts the nearest beaches. Savelletri is 14km away by car and has everything you need for a day at the beach. Here there are both sandy and rocky beaches offering relaxing beach clubs or water sports and beach games depending on if you prefer a lazy day or an active day at the beach. With free parking and lots of shops, cafes and restaurants lining the promenade, this is an idyllic place to visit. Golf lovers may also like to play a round of golf at the nearby San Domenico Golf club before heading back for a dinner of fresh seafood overlooking the sea.
There are many more places you can visit along Puglia’s coastline and another town you could spend the day exploring is Monopoli, a lively port town 19km away. Monopoli is close to the famous town of Polignano a Mare and has stunning beaches which rival those in Polignano but with fewer crowds. The beaches are perfect for sailing, diving and kitesurfing or indeed simply unwinding on a sun lounger with a refreshing cocktail. Aside from the beaches, Monopoli’s town centre is also worth visiting, this historic old town has lots for visitors to see, including the 16th century Castle of Carlo V, the nearby Palmieri Palace and the imposing Gothic cathedral.
If you would like to visit one of Puglia’s magical Trulli towns; packed with whitewashed Trullo buildings, you could drive over to Alberobello (15km away) or Locorotondo (12.5km away) both can be visited independently or as part of a guided tour.
