What Oliver loves…
- The uniqueness of this home makes for an unforgettable stay, how many pajare will you get to sleep in?
- It’s just a 10-minute walk to the sea along the Cipolliane path
- The hammock by the private pool is the perfect place to enjoy a day
- A true heaven for couples and romantic getaway in every sense!
Enjoy a unique stay at this home away from home created in the unique pajaru style, specific to the Italian region of Puglia. It’s the kind of place you will never forget, and that will be the one of the top highlights of your stay.
Spend your days by the private pool, rocking in the hammock, or head down to the beach, which is just a short walk away.
The interior of the home is incredibly unique. The living and dining area is very minimal but has everything you could need and want, such as a comfortable couch and a dining table perfect for a romantic dinner for two. The kitchen is well-equipped and at the end of the living space.
The bedroom is built in a Pajaru, a traditional Puglian dry stone hut. Like the rest of the home, there is everything you need and nothing more helping create an environment that encourages relaxation. There is a large circle bed, a swing chair and very little else in the bedroom, which means you can truly appreciate the traditional style of home. The bathroom is incredibly modern, with a large shower that boasts a beautiful crystal wall. The sink is in an old stone vat, and like the rest of the home is very unique.
The outside area is equally as beautiful and you can see just how well the house has been built in the harmony with nature. There’s lush gardens and vegetation surrounding you, with a large table at the foot of an ancient olive tree. The pool is the ideal spot to relax and take a dip, and it is salt water to further respect the environment.
This villa is located in Gagliano del Capo in the Puglia region. It’s just under an hour’s walk into the centre, or a 7-minute drive (4km). Here you will find the odd restaurant and bar offering authentic treats. The sea is just a 10-minute walk away and there are many other great bays close by - like Grotta di Novaglie (400m), Porticciolo di Marina di Novaglie (600m) and Torre di Novaglie (650m). The villa is also just a 55-minute drive to Lecce (64km), a city that boasts loads of breathtaking Baroque buildings.
What you should know…
- This house is located in a residential area, however, the set-up offers optimal privacy
- Despite absence of air-conditioning, the authentic pajaru stone walls are excellent at keeping the air cool throughout the day
- Guests with mobility issues should bear in mind that there are steps outside the villa
- Kitchen with induction hob and dishwasher, table and chairs and sofa
- Large bathroom with shower
- Double bedroom with round bed, hanging chair and a door opening onto the garden
- Salt water pool
- Parasol and sun loungers
- Outdoor dining table and chairs
- Comfortable seating area
- Outdoor fireplace
- Outdoor food preparation area with sink
- Air conditioning in the bedrooms and living area
This villa is located in the region of Salento, the southern spot that forms the heel of Italy’s boot, in the small commune of Gagliano del Capo. The villa is located in a residential area, just a medium walking stretch or a short drive from a few restaurants, bars and the port. Gagliano del Capo is a quite town that is surrounded by the countryside, and the Salento coast. Here you will find restaurants and cafes that offer local delicacies and aperitifs.
The southern location means there are plenty of beautiful beaches, with crystal clear waters and spots to set up for the day. There are plenty within a short drive or walk from the villa like: Grotta di Novaglie (400m), Porticciolo di Marina di Novaglie (600m) and Torre di Novaglie (650m). The nearest sandy beaches are Torre Vado and Marina di Pescoluse (18km).
It’s just a 55-minute drive to Lecce (64km), a city that has plenty do to and see. It’s known for its baroque buildings, which are breathtaking, and its Piazza del Duomo cathedral. There’s plenty to do, from the Basilica of Santa Croce, Cathedral of Lecce and Piazza Sant’Oronzo. There are also loads of tasty restaurants to enjoy, bars to explore and shops to get some local treats.
The region is known for beautiful whitewashed hill towns, centuries-old farms and endless coastline that boasts beautiful turquoise waters. It’s well worth a visit to some of the other towns and beaches near the villa, like: the picturesque town of Castro (19km), the coastal town of Otranto (51km), and the stunning beach of Torre Dell’Orso (60km).

There’s a reason Puglia is the region of the moment, or rather several: the excellent food, exuberant architecture dotted in the South, the breathtaking coastline and heaps more. Puglia is much bigger than you might first expect, but you’ll get both a wonderful and varied Italian experience here.Use our travel guide as a nifty sidekick (think of us like the Robin to your Batman) to help you plan the holiday of a lifetime.
And don’t forget we’ve got a selection of villas in Puglia that will add that extra special touch to your trip.
Puglia is an ideal location to travel with children, especially those who love the water. The beaches in the region vary in terms of whether there are lifeguards on duty, but the majority are safe and ready for children. There are also lots of excursions that are great fun for the whole family and offer a different view of the waters. Lecce is just a short drive away and there’s loads to do here with kids, explore the streets and the beautiful old buildings and colourfull gelaterias.
