The main town on the island, also called Lefkada, is around 30km away, and sights such as the Kerasia Waterfalls and the Olive Museum are about 8km from your villa.

Location
About the surrounding area of Villa KoralA superb island for beach life and relaxing in the sun, Lefkada is easily reached via a road bridge from mainland Greece. When you reach the island you will find yourself in Lefkada Town, the largest on the island. With countless waterfront bars and restaurants and a pretty marina, the town has plenty to recommend and offers the best shopping and entertainment in Lefkada.
Lefkada Town’s cultural highlights include museums such as the Archaeological Museum, the Phonograph, Radio and Traditional Museum and the Museum of Angelos Sikelianos – housed in the former home of the Greek poet. Another notable sight is Agia Mavra castle. Dating from the 1300s, the castle was originally built to defend Lefkada from pirates and is now a popular visitor attraction.
Elsewhere on the island, you can visit the beautiful waterfalls at Nidri or Kerasia or even the Karoucha Cave near Sivros. If you’re interested in the island’s wine or olive oil production, you can find out more about both. The Lefkaditiki Winery and the Fabbrica Olive Museum are among the attractions of the southern half of the island.
Many visitors head straight for the beaches of Lefkada, and there is a great choice all around the island. They are generally very picturesque, often enjoying rugged cliffs or forest backdrops. Down the west coast are beaches such as Porto Katsiki which is flanked by white chalk cliffs. This beach impresses with azure waters and white sands – it’s one of the prettiest on the island. Not far north, Egremni is also among Lefkada’s best, while gorgeous Kathisma enjoys stunning sunsets.
South of Lefkada Town, the small pebble beach of Lygia is a nice place to admire the views back to the mainland. On the eastern side of the island, you also have Nikiana, about 10km from Lefkada Town, and Nidri. This town is often buzzing with visitors and has plenty of bars, restaurants and clubs to keep them fed and entertained. The Ionian Regatta sailing competition is held in Nidri every September.

Getting There
How to reach Sivota
There are three ways to reach Sivota: by flight, ferry and car or by flight and car.
By plane and car: Sivota is on the mainland of Greece, getting there either fly to Preveza Airport (code PVK) which has many international flights, and drive approx. 100km, Ioannina Airport (IOA) has domestic flights plus the drive is 165km to Sivota or fly to Corfu, get a taxi to Corfu port, then get a ferry to Igoumenitsa, then pick up a car or taxi to Sivota, approx. 25km

Best Suited For: All AgesChildren are sure to have a great time on the island of Lefkada. This laidback Greek island is the perfect place to enjoy the beach, boat trips and beautiful scenery. The adventure starts in the main town of Lefkada, which is the best place on the island to shop or eat out. You can visit Agia Mavra Castle, or check out the landmark Wooden Bridge which has become the place to be at sunset. It’s a particularly photogenic spot, with a long stretch of restaurant terraces nearby, so head down there for an evening of great local food.
Also in Lefkada, you’ll find Lygia beach and a few cultural attractions. Check out the Phonograph, Radio and Traditional Museum and the Archaeological Museum which are both a short walk away. Kids will be pleased that the town streets are also lined with plenty of places to pick up an ice cream, waffle, dessert or any other sweet treat you could name. Look out for the delicious honey-flavoured loukoumades, a doughnut-like Greek speciality available with all sorts of accompaniments.
The island’s beaches are among the best you’ll find, and many offer opportunities to try water sports as well as general sunbathing and relaxation. For surfing, check out Vasiliki in the south or Agios Ioannis in the north. One of the loveliest towns, Agios Nikitas, is home to a couple of fine beaches, including the sandy Milos – they won’t be able to resist spending a day here.
Lefkada is all about beaches, scenery and relaxing vibes, but there are a few special attractions which might appeal too. There are the lovely waterfalls of Nidri and Kerasia, as well as the Fabbrica Olive Museum for a fascinating look at the island’s olive oil production. You will also find a small zoo on the grounds of the elaborate Monastery of Faneromeni which offers fine views from its position on top of a hill.
