Pool Villa/House Modern Self-Catered Ideal for Kids Walk to Beach Parking Space

Enjoy a vacation in the cool contemporary Villa Admetos, situated on the southwest coast of fashionable Mykonos, in the heart of the Aegean Sea. This stylish three bedroom villa can comfortably accommodate up to six guests, ideal for a family or friends sharing.

The villa is built of sparkling white Mediterranean white-washed stone over two levels, on a sizeable plot of five and a half hectacres, and the property itself is a spacious one hundred and forty nine square metres. The interiors are a blend of the old and the new, combining minimalist chic with traditional hand-crafted pieces, and decorated in contemporary colours of soft white, cool greys, and subtle beiges. The villa comes with private parking for two cars, an alarm system for your security, and for your comfort and entertainment, complimentary Wi-Fi and air-conditioning throughout. Best of all the villa commands simply stunning sea views from the terrace and bedrooms, has its own private infinity swimming pool, and is only four kilometres from Mykonos old town.

Enter the villa at the ground floor level, where you will discover a holiday home of open plan living. The seating area has a large dove grey sofa and matching pouffe, with a beautiful soft grey bookcase, two funky silver coloured coffee tables, a flat screen television with a DVD and CD player, and an open fireplace to keep you cosy in the cooler months. The all-white dining area has billowing curtains with French windows that open onto the terrace, and a dining set to seat seven, ideal for some impressive indoor entertaining. The adjacent fully-equipped soft beige kitchen has everything you will need to cater for your holiday, including a built-in oven and hob, a family-size fridge freezer, and a dishwasher and washing machine. Take the stairs to the first floor where you will find three double bedrooms. The master bedroom is dressed in cool grey and white and has a large double bed, fitted wardrobes, bedside tables, chest of drawers, floor-to-ceiling windows that open onto a sea view balcony, and an en suite marble bathroom with a walk in shower. The second bedroom is decorated in white with brown trim, a large double bed, a freestanding wood wardrobe, bedside and dressing tables, and an en suite bathroom. The third bedroom is a white and soft grey twin room, with two single beds, and free standing furniture. There is a separate bathroom with a walk in shower.

Access the tiled terrace via the living space, where you will find your own private ladder entry infinity pool, long enough for a few lengths before breakfast, and with its own waterfall to blend beautifully with the blue of the sea. The pool is surrounded by modern grey mesh sun loungers, a purpose built dark grey soft seating area, and comfy fat cushions for the ultimate in luxuriating under the heat of the summer sun. The villa has a veranda with a covered pergola area that is home to an eight seater dining table and chairs. Enjoy a sundowner at sunset on the sea view terrace, then dine alfresco under the twinkling stars, with local delicacies grilled on the barbeque.

What you should know…

  • The villa commands stunning sea views, but it is about a kilometre walk to the beach and water, and the nearest organised beach is Agios Ioannis is a kilometre and a half away, albeit a lovely walk, and an easy journey by car
  • We recommend a hire car to make the most of your holiday and see all of the sites and sights you wish to see
  • The third bedroom doesn’t have an en suite bathroom, the third bathroom is a separate facility.

Villa Admetos is located on the southwest coast of the holiday hot spot of beautiful Mykonos, one of the Cycladic islands in the heart of the Aegean Sea. The villa is one of a handful of luxury properties occupying an amphitheatre of land overlooking a beautiful bay and rewarding you with panoramic sea views. The exclusive island of Mykonos measures only ten kilometres long by fifteen kilometres wide, so wherever you want to go it’s only a short drive away.
The villa is just five kilometres from Mykonos airport, which is served by both local and international flight operators. If you are island hopping, nearby Naxos and Syros also have their own airports. If you are arriving by boat, the new port of Mykonos is also a short five kilometres drive from the villa.

The coastline is surrounded by many beautiful golden sandy beaches, take your pick from the nearby sandy parabola of Paralia Agios Ioannis, just one kilometre away, to the family-friendly favourite of Agios Stephanos, or party, party, party all day long on hedonistic Paradise Beach, with its crystal clear waters, restaurants, bars, and clubs with resident DJs, there’s something for everyone on the island of Mykonos. The nearby town of Ornos is one and a half kilometres from the villa, with two sheltered organised beaches in a bay, a seafront lined with traditional tavernas and shops, and a boat service to local beaches and the island of Delos. During daylight hours play penance in one of the eight hundred churches that populate the island, most notably Paraportiani, which is a unique construction combining four styles of architecture, or the church of St George Spilinnos, uniquely built into the cavity of the rocks.

Take a visit to Mykonos town, known locally as Chora, just four kilometres from the villa. Here you can wander the maze of streets with its colourful Cycladic houses, and do some serious designer dress shopping in one of the many luxury label boutiques. Then take a table at a seafront restaurant and enjoy a dish of freshly caught seafood, whilst sipping ouzo, and watching the beautiful people pass by.Find out the island’s history and culture at the Archaeological Museum, the Folk Museum, and the Maritime Museum, then go out slightly of town to Lena’s House to discover how the islanders lived. Take a walk up to the landmark windmills, or as they are known locally, Kato Mili, where once the wheat was ground to make bread and is now a mini museum and residencies. Walk along the waterfront to Little Venice, where the original and colourful merchant houses overhang the sea, and are now home to cafes, bars, restaurants and galleries, best enjoyed at sunset with a retsina or two. Admire the Armenistis lighthouse, still fully functioning and an essential asset of Mykonos’ maritime history.

No visit to Mykonos is complete without a day at sea, join a catamaran jolly and snorkel in the sea, or if you’re feeling flush, charter your own yacht and discover secret coves and hidden bays and beaches. For the romantics, nothing beats a sunset cruise, cocktail in hand as the sun sets over the horizon. Hop aboard a ferry for a day trip to the adjacent island of Tinos, visit the landmark Renaissance-style Church of Panagia Evangelistria, tilt at windmills, visit the fifty villages, walk the ancient fortifications, and coo at the famous dovecotes. Further afield the uninhabited island of Delos is well worth a visit, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, home to the birthplace of Zeus and Leto, go with a group or arrange your own private tour.

Getting There

How to reach Mykonos island

There are two ways to reach Mykonos Island: either by flight or by ferry.

By plane: Due to the popularity of this island local and charter flights for Mykonos (JMK) are frequent. The airport is located just 2 km outside the town.

By ferry: Ferries to Mykonos New Port (JMK), in the Tourlos area, depart from Piraeus port everyday with great frequency in order to service the great number of travelers. The trip usually lasts from 2 to 6 hours but it gives the possibility to admire other Greek islands while on your way. You can easily book your ferry tickets using the link below or the booking engine.

Kids

Best Suited For: All Ages
Ideal for Kids Ideal for Teens

Your kids will just love a holiday on the island of Mykonos, and there’s a surprising number of fun and family activities to keep them amused. Starting with Villa Admetos’ private infinity swimming pool, and as there are no set hours they can play and splash all day. There are lots of family-friendly beaches along the coastline and we particularly recommend the golden sands of nearby Platys Gialos, Agios Ioannis, Ornos, Agios Stefanos, and Kalo Livadi. These beaches are organised so that sun beds and parasols can be booked in advance, and provide facilities such as bars, cafes, and water sports, and most especially easy entry to calmer sea waters.

Younger children may enjoy a visit to the Animal Organic Farm, where they can pet and feed the livestock, harvest seasonal crops, enjoy some time in nature, and keep themselves busy with some farming tasks. Whilst your older kids could take a hike over the island’s landscape, exploring the local flora and fauna, ending with a cooling dip in the sea. All of the family will love a day at sea, whether it is island hopping aboard a shared Catamaran, chartering a yacht and discovering secret coves and hidden bays and beaches, and swimming and snorkelling spotting friendly fish. Keep your creatives happy with a mosaic workshop, or a family cooking lesson with a local chef teaching you all to make traditional Greek dishes. A trip to Mykonos town is a must, wander the winding streets, shop for souvenirs, meet Petros the Pelican, the mascot of Mykonos, and then enjoy a family-friendly meal in a seaside taverna.

For your intellectually curious offspring, there’s the Archaeological Museum, the Maritime Museum, the Folk Museum, and Lena’s House, all within walking distance of the old town. A short walk along the seafront will take you to Little Venice, a pirate’s paradise of a maze of streets with colourful houses overhanging the sea. Tilt at windmills at the top of the town, the landmark of Mykonos, where they used to grind wheat and make bread for the islanders, now a mini museum and some are even residencies. The Lighthouse of Mykonos is seven kilometres northeast of the town, and well worth a visit for the stunning sea views of the island of Tinos, and to watch the boats arriving and departing from the harbour. Who would have thought it, but Mykonos is home to the best Go-Kart track in Greece, open every day from April until November from 10 am until 2 am, which should keep them occupied all day. For those who prefer a more natural form of transport, they can mount a pony and go horseback riding in the village of Ano Mera. If you want to venture further afield, a trip to the adjacent island of Delos is a delight, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and the birthplace of Zeus and Leto, Apollo and Artemis, cross the water by private charter or join a shared tour for a fabulous family day out.
