Pool Modern Ideal for Kids Walk to Beach Walk to Village Ideal for Parties Parking Space Romantic

Designed and built in 2016, Villa Cuprian offers a wonderful, superbly comfortable stay with blissful outdoor space on top of a lush green Kefalonian cape, a ten to fifteen minutes walk from the fabulous village of Skala. This beautifully appointed villa offers uninterrupted Ionian Sea views, tranquillity and serene surroundings and is perfect for families or groups of friends. It boasts three beautifully presented bedrooms, two immaculate bathrooms and wonderful open-plan living space, all on one level. Outside, you can cool off in a wonderful pool, dine alfresco, relax with your holiday book and watch the glorious sunsets with a delicious cocktail. If you are taking a holiday with another family, they could always book Villa Cuprian’s sister villa, Villa Adamite, and stay next door.

In the southernmost corner of Kefalonia, Skala boasts a Blue Flag, three kilometre-long sand and pebble beach with lively beach bars, secluded stretches and plenty of watersports. Skala is lively and popular with an excellent selection of gift shops, mini-markets, bars and restaurants. Once a small fishing village, Skala is immensely popular though you can still find a quiet spot. It is surrounded by fragrant pine trees and boasts a warren of narrow cobblestoned streets sprinkled with delightful eateries. Though seriously damaged by the earthquake and rebuilt in 1956, there are still some well-preserved mosaics found within a 3rd-century Roman villa on the edge of the village and ruins of the Temple of Apollo which dates back to 600 BC a couple of miles out of town. Outside of Skala, you will discover vineyards, olive and orange groves, fields and hills, home to goats and sheep and thousands of beehives which are used to make the delicious Kefalonian thyme-flavoured honey.

Villa Cuprian is perfect for guests with mobility issues, being all on one level. The open-plan living area is bright and airy with numerous glass doors opening to the terrace. It also offers a wonderful vaulted ceiling with beams that makes it feel cavernous and add character. A sumptuous corner sofa and trendy accent chairs sit in the perfect position to enjoy the garden and sea views outside as well as to watch the television that is provided for your entertainment. Just behind, you will discover your dining table and chairs and a fantastic modern kitchen. The kitchen is a very sociable space and offers all the appliances you could possibly wish for.

Like the living space, the three bedrooms come in calm, serene colour tones. With either a kingsize bed or twins that can be made up as a super kingsize bed, they are dreamy havens where you will enjoy the sleep of kings on luxury linens. The coordinated soft furnishings complete the picture. One bedroom comes with a smart ensuite bathroom and the other two share a family bathroom. Both bathrooms offer walk-in showers and contemporary fittings.

You leave these immaculate spaces for a lengthy terrace where you can dine alfresco under a contemporary canopy, relax with pre-dinner drinks or a game of cards and laze on stylish loungers enjoying the Kefalonian sunshine. The large ecological chemical and chlorine-free swimming pool is superb and comes with a handy outdoor shower. Beyond the pool, is a very generous-sized lush lawn where children can happily play. The sea views are beautiful and very inviting. You will soon be leaving your wonderful retreat for the warm waters of the Ionian Sea.

Villa Cuprian enjoys a dreamy spot overlooking the calm, turquoise Ionian Sea just a short walk from Skala. It is a fantastic location where you will enjoy peace and tranquillity yet not need to get in the car every five minutes.

Skala is lively and vibrant with a wonderful beach which boasts watersports, bars and plenty of sun loungers and parasols. There are some trendy bars, traditional tavernas serving delicious feta-covered feasts and some excellent shops. Skala is surrounded by vineyards, olive groves and fields full of sheep and goats. Just on the edge of Skala are the remains of a Roman villa with its mosaics depicting an altar with a sacrificial bull and other wild animals.

Just along the coast is Potamaki Beach which has been declared a conservation area thanks to its resident loggerhead turtles laying their eggs. If you visit the beach at night, the turtle watches are fascinating. Kaminia Beach is also a nesting ground for loggerhead turtles. Just minutes from Skala, you can also visit the waterfalls of Potistis.

Kefalonia is a paradise island with a mythical Greek history at its heart. The scenic setting for Captain Corelli’s Mandolin, the island has much to offer and will definitely steal your heart. If you have time during your trip, the towns of Argostoli, Lixouri, Fiskardo and Assos should all be on your list of places to visit.

Pessada is a delightful seaside village with lovely views over to Zante. It enjoys several pretty beaches with crystal clear emerald water and rocks dotted around the bay. Other beaches that are worth visiting are Trapezaki Beach, Avithos Beach, Ammes Beach and Minies Beach Makris Gialos Beach, Xi Beach, Poros Beach and the famous Myrtos Beach.

Argostoli stands proudly at the far end of a natural bay surrounded by mountains and lush forests. The major 1953 earthquake destroyed the town which was rebuilt and is now a cosmopolitan wonder with a palm-lined coastal promenade, a wonderful array of restaurants, cafes, bars and shops, a small ferry quay where boats can take you to Lixouri and fishing boats moor up and a lively central square. You will discover the beautiful Church of Saint Spyridon and the fascinating clock tower of Campana Square. The town’s Archaeological Museum of Kefalonia is home to interesting archaeological finds from the Mycenaean, Hellenistic and Roman periods. There are plenty of other museums and monasteries to visit including the Byzantine Ecclesiastical Museum, the Monastery of Agios Milapidias, the Monastery of Sission and the Historical and Folklore Museum of Corgialenos.

You can take the boat over from Argostoli to Lixouri,  the second-largest town in Kefalonia. Lixouri was built on the site where the ancient city of Pali use to be. It offers delightful restaurants and bars which line the busy waterfront and the main square, Plateia Petritsi. Lixouri hosts many festivals throughout the year and is known for its rich cultural traditions. It boasts one of the oldest philharmonic schools in Greece. You can visit some atmospheric churches with wonderful frescoes, the archaeological museum, neoclassical buildings and the famous Monastery of Kipoureon.

Further north is Assos and Fiskardo, both wonderful day or evening excursions from the villa.  Assos is peaceful and charming with some excellent restaurants and cafes. It is surrounded by luscious green scenery and verdant forests. It offers a mystical atmosphere, almost as though the village is lost in time. Pretty pastel-coloured houses are nestled into the steep hillsides and the castle is a popular visit. On the northern tip of the island, Fiskardo is trendy and chic. Its waterside dining is fabulous and there is a wonderful array of unique boutiques and gift shops. As well as colourful fishing boats in the harbour, you will see many luxury yachts as Fiskardo is definitely one of the places to be in Kefalonia, albeit it is located at the far end of the island.

  • A wonderful week

    on 21/07/2022

Loved the house with its views and convenient distance to town. Our host kept in touch with us and was there for us on arrival, our flights got moved so we didn't arrive as planned but it wasn't a problem at all. She then spent a good amount of time with us telling us about the best places to see and go, the advice was great.

  • Beautiful

    on 23/05/2022

The owner met us personally and provided general info on the property and local area recommendations.
The villa is beautiful. So relaxing and quality furnishings. The setting is supremely peaceful and completely idyllic. I didn’t want to leave.

  • Pure Bliss

    on 26/09/2019

Travelled from rainy UK to glorious sunny Greek weather and this place was the best thing we could possibly get. Villa Cuprian is absolutely gorgeous! We went for family holidays and could not fail in anything! Extremely spacious place, spotless from inside out; the outside area provides ideal conditions to sit comfortably at any time of the day or evening while we thoroughly enjoyed the fresh fruits around the villa as well as the swimming private pool which was cleaned every other day. This was a family business and both owners and staff went above and beyond to help us with everything. Needless to say that we felt sooo welcomed and deffo coming back next year. The whole experience was such a bliss while all the extra touches made it exceptional in every single aspect. Worth every penny spent. Thank you everyone for making our holidays so special.

  • Lovely modern Villa

Villa Cuprian is a very nice modern vila, tastefully decorated and has everything you need for a fantastic holiday. The villa is very well equipped both inside and out. Bedrooms and bathrooms are modern with comfy beds, nice bedding and towels. Kitchen and living areas are equally well appointed and give out into patio and pool and lovely sea views. Hard to fault the place and overall exceeded expectations.
