What you should know…

- Unfenced pool and stone steps externally - little ones will need monitoring (alternatively, you can request pool barriers)
- A hire car is needed to enjoy this beautiful stretch of coastline, there is plenty of parking. You can opt for your car being delivered straight to the villa
- Elounda is known for its pretty finishing villages and dramatic coastline but doesn’t have much on offer by way of nightlife

About the surrounding area of Spinalonga Villas 1Spinalonga Villas 1 is nestled on the stunning North coast of Crete, close to the small town of Elounda, only an hour’s drive away from the Heraklion International Airport and 15 minutes away from Aghios Nikolaos. Synonymous with luxury and style, neither too busy nor too remote, it offers ancient ruins, a spectacular coastline and crystal clear seas. Elounda’s harbour, known as the “Gulf of Korfos,” is a natural, tranquil lagoon which is bordered by rugged peninsulas, creating serene and calm waters, ideal for bathing.
From golfing to sailing and yachting, luxury spas and an array of blue flag beaches, this golden part of Mediterranean paradise is hard to beat.
Around the Elounda region, guests can explore unknown pretty beaches, jump on a boat to visit the island of Spinalonga, enjoy a walk along the peninsula of Kolokitha, and visit two of the most important archaeological sites of Cretan history: the relics of the ancient sunken city of Olous and the Venetian fortress on the island of Spinalonga.
From Elounda harbour, there is a boat to Spinalonga every thirty minutes throughout the summer. It takes about twenty minutes to reach the island, while the sea voyage sometimes includes a sail around the Kolokytha Peninsula.
