An exceptionally modern 4-bedroom villa with sea and mountain views, Villa Nyxi lies just a 20-minute drive from the Cretan city of Chania. Its position offers a breathtaking view of the Bay of Chania area, as well as landscaped gardens with a tennis court and infinity pool – the ideal place to watch the sunset.
Situated in a quiet location on the Akrotiri peninsula, Villa Nyxi can comfortably accommodate up to 10 guests. On an 8000 square metres plot of land, it offers ample outdoor space and a host of features. As well as the heated infinity pool, you have a hot tub, a pergola with outdoor dining area, a summer kitchen with barbecue, and an outdoor shower and sun terrace. If that wasn’t enough, you will also have the use of a tennis court and fitness room.
You will have an incredible view from inside the house, thanks to the large glass panel lining the living area. This open-place space offers ample seating, a dining area and a luxury Italian kitchen with all you could need. A double bedroom, bathroom and the gym/playroom can all be found on the ground floor too.
A half-level floor accommodates a king room which can also be used as a twin. Here you can appreciate mountain and sea views from the private balcony. On the first floor are two more double bedrooms, including the master suite, completed with free-standing bath, walk-in wardrobe and Smart TV. Large terrace areas on this floor lead you to the rooftop gardens where you will find the hot tub and a decked seating area.
This amazing property is equipped with virtually every convenience you could think of, from air-conditioning and heat-reflective glass for the ultimate comfort, to cool extras like a PlayStation, Nespresso coffee machine and a ping-pong table. There’s a Bluetooth music system, covered parking and Wi-Fi, and a range of additional services are offered too, including those of a private chef, massage therapist and babysitter.
With Chania just a short drive away, you have one of the most enchanting Mediterranean cities on your doorstep – as well as numerous excellent beaches and attractions ranging from a water-park and botanic gardens to historic landmarks and fantastic restaurants.

Location
About the surrounding area of Villa NyxiMuch admired for its Venetian harbour and striking lighthouse, Chania is one of the highlights of Crete’s northern coast. Surrounded by wonderful beaches and stunning countryside, this city is one well worth making time for – and it’s geared up for visitors with plenty of entertainment and an excellent dining scene.
The harbour’s colourful buildings and landmarks like the Ottoman Baths make it incredibly photogenic, and you will be tempted to stick around on its many waterfront restaurant terraces. You are in a great position to then start exploring the Old Town or perhaps head out to sea. Various boat tours showing off the area’s beautiful coastline are easy to find.
The area has no shortage of idyllic beaches, and there are many within a short distance of the city – some walkable. Golden Beach and Neo Chora are both good choices and family-friendly, although they can get busy. Many of the real gems require a longer drive, but are well worth it – Balos is considered one of the island’s best beaches, around 60km from Chania.
In the town, you have a variety of museums dedicated to aspects of the area’s history, including those focussed on archaeology and local folklore. A maritime museum won’t take you far from the water – you can also walk along the seawall to the Venetian Lighthouse and enjoy one of the best views in town.
Further out of town, the extensive Botanic Park and Gardens sitting beneath the White Mountains are a must-see. Wandering through the park filled with exotic flowers and herbs is a sensory experience. The restaurant offers a wonderful view over the park, so it’s worth stopping for lunch there. Other notable sights include an impressive trio of monasteries on the Akritori Peninsula, Agia Triada.
The wonderful Samaria Gorge is just across the island from Chania and makes a great excursion if you are willing to venture further. Seeing the countryside of Crete is a real treat, and this area is ideal for walking and hiking. Many organised tours will also show you the region’s scenery, and often local craftsmanship – visits to see products like olive oil, honey or Cretan wine being produced are popular.

How to reach Chania
There are two ways to reach Chania: either by flight or by ferry.
By plane: Chania Airport (CHQ) is only a 20 minutes ride away from central Chania. During the summer months, frequents overseas and domestic flights are performed. In most of the cases, there are available buses that connect Chania city and most of the villas. You can also hire a car from one of the many rental companies at the airport, or alternatively get a taxi to bring you right to your doorstep.
By ferry: If you choose to do an island-hopping trip and use the ferry as a method of transportation, then the closest port is in Souda, only 8km from the centre of Chania. Only ferries from Piraeus in Athens or Heraklion in Crete. Heraklion port has a wider choice: you can also take a ferry from other Greek islands like Santorini, Mykonos or Paros, but you will have to take a longer bus ride to reach your villa. Kids
Best Suited For: All AgesVilla Nyxi really does have it all as far as the kids are concerned. Huge gardens, an ocean-view infinity pool and a tennis court sound like a great start, but there’s even more. Smart TV, PlayStation, DVD, Bluetooth music system, Wi-Fi… this villa is packed with the tech they love. But they might just find that a soak in the rooftop hot tub as the stars come out beats the lot.
You have lots of comfy bedrooms, one with twin beds, and the playroom gives them another space to make their own, equipped with two sofa-beds. The villa is only a 5-minute walk from the beach too, so days out couldn’t be easier.
You will have lots to show them in nearby Chania, a town full of great places to eat and be entertained. There are many museums and historical sights, like the landmark lighthouse which overlooks the Venetian Harbour, or how about taking a boat trip out to see the marine wildlife from a glass-bottomed vessel? You will also find cinemas, an escape room, great shopping and a lot of fun going on in the streets – especially during the summer when it’s festival season.
About 20 minutes’ drive from town, the Aqua Creta water-park in Limnoupolis is one they will love. For something more natural, there are the impressive Botanic Gardens about 10 minutes further on. Alternatively, just follow the coast for a host of family-friendly beaches – several can be found within a few minutes of Chania.

Perfect place to relax near Chania
Perfect place to relax near Chania. Nice and quiet area as well. The Villa has everything we needed. A big kitchen with nice view. Enough rooms with their bathrooms. A big living room as well. And the swimming pool at the garden always clean. We really enjoyed our stay there. Looking forward to be back. Thank you for everything.

The whole holiday was thoroughly enjoyed by everyone
On arriving at the villa we were met by a lovely woman who provided us with keys and gave us a tour of the villa. As soon as we walked in we were in awe. The attention to detail was fantastic and all the facilities exceeded expectation. The bedrooms were spacious, comfortable and the en suites were in pristine condition. The tennis courts and pool, which were used daily, were a great size and the lay out allowed for a sense of privacy.
The villa was perfect for spending a whole day at, we could walk to the local market and buy food to grill that evening in the outdoor dining area, everything we needed was available and several high quality local restaurants delivered too.
The location of the villa suited us perfectly, as Stavros is a small town, we were only a 15 minute walk away from bars, restaurants and the beach, and there was a bus stop 2 minutes away from the villa that took us into Chania. There was lots to do in the area and we hired a car for the first half of the week which allowed us to explore.
As the holiday was in June the tourist attractions were not as overcrowded as peak times so we enjoyed visiting local monisteries (which produced their own ice cream, honey, and wine!), going on walks to secluded beaches, trying out the water park and doing day trips by boat. The whole holiday was thoroughly enjoyed by everyone, so much so that we are planning on going again next year.
I would highly recommend this villa as a luxuary accommodation that works for a variety of ages and group sizes.
