What Oliver loves…
- Maison de Lauris offers an array of high-quality furniture carefully selected to offer the utmost style and comfort
- Beautiful and intricate, the attention to detail is clear throughout the chic and modern villa, with bold artworks complementing the sophisticated colour palettes
- It’s just 1km to a really authentic Luberon village with a beutiful medieval castle whilst charming Lourmarin, one of France’s Plus Beaux Villages, is just 5km away
- Many others Luberon’s most idyllic villages are within striking distance such as Gordes, Lacoste, Roussillon and Bonnieux
Delicately and tastefully refurbished, Maison de Lauris is a stylish and modern home from home for your stay in the exquisite Luberon region.
There is a cosy open plan living area complete with a beautiful dining table, a relaxed seating area in front of the TV and a spectacular kitchen space, all complete with sophisticated décor. The kitchen offers high-end appliances, a breakfast bar and plenty of space for several chefs to prepare a Provençal feast.
There are three charming bedrooms decorated with soft colour pallets of hazel, cream and ivory complementing the bold prints and flagstone flooring. Alongside the bedrooms are two bathrooms, one featuring a romantic freestanding bathtub, the other with a distinct tribal design to add to the character to this delightful home.
Outside you will find a shaded terrace which overlooks the beautiful garden and private swimming pool for the summer months. This is the perfect spot for a bit of relaxation or an al-fresco meal on the terrace.
The beauty of Maison de Lauris is rivalled only by its unbeatable location, just off the road leading to an authentic Luberon village where one can visit its troglodyte caves and medieval castle, now a classified site. Highlights include visiting the modern art gallery or shopping alongside locals at the Monday morning market.
It’s also just over a five-minute drive to Lourmarin, one of France’s Plus Beaux Villages nestled in rolling vineyards, olive groves and almond trees. Wander around the winding streets, discover café terraces or pretty boutiques and admire the beautifully restored architecture and village atmosphere. On a Friday morning head to the village for market day where you can pick up some Provençal delights alongside pottery, fabrics and soaps.
Furthermore, the stunning castle of Rousillon, the incredible hillside town of Gordes with its postcard-picture Abbaye Notre-Dame de Sénanque, alongside a total of seven protected sites across the Luberon region, are all within a short drive of the villa.

Maison de Lauris has a fantastic location, in a semi-residential area just off the road leading to a pretty Luberon village (1km), a couple of minutes by car or a 20-minute walk. It is less touristy than some of the Luberon’s other villages and has an authentic and lively village ambience where you will rub shoulders with locals at the Monday morning market and enjoy the cafes and restaurants nearby. The village has an interesting history seen through its troglodyte caves and medieval castle and there is also a modern art gallery open for visitors to see.
It’s also just over a five-minute drive to Lourmarin (5km), one of France’s Plus Beaux Villages nestled in rolling vineyards, olive groves and almond trees. Wander around the winding streets, discover café terraces or pretty boutiques and admire the beautifully restored architecture and village atmosphere. On a Friday morning head to the village for market day where you can pick up some Provençal delights alongside pottery, fabrics and soaps.
Of course, the Luberon region is all about cascading hills and vast vineyards, olive groves and vivid fields of lavender of Provence. The surrounding enchanting villages of Roussillon (25km) with its stunning castle and the incredible hillside town of Gordes (30km) with its postcard-picture Abbaye Notre-Dame de Sénanque are both within a short drive of the villa. Other archetypal Luberon villages to explore such as Bonnieux (18km), Lacoste (35km) and Ménerbes (27km).
Food enthusiasts should also head to the Luberon town of Apt (23km) on a Saturday morning for its incredible Provençal market, one of the most famous in the region and well known for its local products especially candied fruits and goats cheese. Market lovers should also seek out the famous brocantes (antique markets) at L’Isle-sur-la-Sorgue (50km).
The Luberon National Park offers an ideal setting for hiking, cycling and even kayaking along the Sorgue near L'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue. There are some amazing climbing opportunities near Buoux (17km), a tiny village with a castle not to be missed and now a mecca for rock-climbing.
Wine lovers will appreciate all the amazing wineries in the local area whilst more family friendly activities in the region include tree-top activity centres, a zoo at Barben (26km) and model railway south of Carpentras (58km).
Furthermore, the wonderful University city of Aix-en-Provence (35km) and beautiful Avignon (65km) can both be visited for memorable day-trips during your stay.
International Golf of Pont Royal
La Côte Plage
The Provençal way of life is one that’s deeply tempting for anyone who’s been feeling the need to get away from it all. This is a place where the Mediterranean weather turns fields of corn and lavender into picture-perfect backdrops, where you can sip your locally bought wine and enjoy the landscapes before heading out and tackling them head-on with a range of great activities for families, groups of friends and adventurous foodies. Better yet, our range of villas in Provence and chateaux and holiday homes in the Côte d’Azur make the perfect base to explore this enchanting region!
The Luberon offers great opportunities for walking, cycling and horse-riding as well as kayaking along the Sorgue near L'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue or rock-climbing in nearby Buoux.
Animal lovers should head to Zoo Barben with over 600 species of animals across several hectares of land and the more adventurous can discover the fantastic Tree-Top activity centres in the Luberon. Further afield, young and old train lovers alike will adore the model railway, the JardiTrain, just south of Carpentras.
City lovers can enjoy the carousel in Aix-en-Provence and take a picnic to one of the city’s parks before riding the little tourist road-train for a kid friendly tour of the city or head to Avignon where you can take a boat trip along the Rhone.
