In the very heart of Saint-Rémy, this beautiful townhouse with it’s very own swimming pool is an absolute gem in a glorious part of Provence.

Imagine spending a day exploring the charming winding lanes, visiting the town’s art galleries and boutiques, following the Van-Gogh trail and picking up Provençal delights from the weekly market then just wandering a few minutes to your home where you can be relaxing with a glass of local wine in the shade of the delightful little garden or cooling off in the plunge pool.

During your time at La Cour du Soleil you’ll feel like a Saint-Rémy local, deciding whether to create a family feast at home in the beautifully equipped modern kitchen or to head out to a local restaurant and enjoy authentic Provençal cuisine. This traditional townhouse has been beautifully renovated to create a homely ambience with an elegant open-plan living room plus four pretty bedrooms and two modern bathrooms. Set over three floors, the glorious curving staircase is one of the many characterful features of this otherwise contemporary home.

Doors open up to the pretty little garden where you can enjoy long lunches in the shade of the al-fresco terrace or spend afternoons lazing in a deckchair by the inviting swimming pool. That said, there’s also so much to discover in the area as you drive out and explore the stunning and diverse landscapes of Les Alpilles Natural Regional Park. Visit enchanting villages such as Maussane and Les Baux-de-Provence, head further afield to the historic city of Avignon or explore other favourite haunts of Van Gogh such as Arles and beautiful Gordes.

There’s also a wealth of activities such as wonderful walks, great cycling routes, horse-riding or pony-trekking as well as rock-climbing and stunning golf courses in glorious surroundings. Not to mention wine-tasting in local vineyards, some of France’s finest olive oil mills and excellent restaurants across the region from authentic bistros to Michelin starred establishments.

So whether walking through fields of lavender, admiring rolling vineyards and olive groves or simply enjoying the ambience of the incredibly Provençal town of Saint-Rémy, La Cour du Soleil is an exception home in a captivating part of southern France.

At La Cour du Soleil you really are in the centre of the delightful town of Saint-Rémy-de-Provence in the stunning Les Alpilles Natural Regional Park in the very heart of beautiful Provence.

Just step outside, wander along the street and there are restaurants and a bar a few steps away then you only have to walk around the corner and you can be exploring the charming lanes of the town featuring the Musée Estrine, Alpilles museum and historic streets filled with little art galleries and boutiques. Sip local wine in pretty cafes under the ancient plane trees and enjoy an excellent choice of restaurants from authentic bistros to Michelin starred establishments. You can also pick up some lovely local produce at the weekly Provençal market on a Wednesday morning.

In the summer months, on selected Sundays, the ‘Route des Artistes’ fills with local artists showing off their work creating a wonderful and bustling atmosphere. Follow the trail of the town’s most famous artist, Vincent Van Gogh, who lived in the famous asylum St Paul de Mausole where he created 150 paintings including ‘Starry Night’.

Hire a car and explore the rich landscapes of Les Alpilles Natural Regional Park, discovering vineyards where you can sample local wine, ancient olive oil mills in delightful Maussane (11km) and historic and beautiful villages such as Les Baux-de-Provence (10km), one of France’s classified ‘Plus Beaux Villages’.

Arles (26km) with its rich history, fine cuisine and fascinating links to Vincent Van Gogh is also within a short distance as is Gordes (40km), another exquisite village set in the stunning Luberon region, another area filled with idyllic villages and glorious countryside.

Further north, lively but small city of Avignon (20km) is a great place to spend a day. Explore the winding medieval streets, experience further excellent dining opportunities and visit two UNESCO world heritage sites, the Pope’s Palace and Saint Benezet Bridge. The covered market offers all sorts of delights or head to the weekend farmers, flower and flea markets for wonderful local produce and some bargains.

Golf-lovers will find a range of courses across the region whilst there are horse-riding and ample cycling opportunities nearby. A little further afield, older children will love kayaking near L'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue (32km) and there are plenty of other family friendly activities throughout this part of Provence from open castles and trekking across the tree-tops to visiting a zoo.
