This is a superb holiday retreat offering everything needed to ensure visitors will quickly feel at home and enjoy an effortlessly relaxing holiday. Every detail has been carefully thought of by the considerate owners, and the villa has also been featured in a well-known French magazine.

Surrounded by huge terraced gardens with mulberry trees and high pines providing plenty of natural shade, there is also a covered terrace, an excellent spot for reading, relaxation and al-fresco dining. Moreover, mesmerising sea and country views can be enjoyed from the huge private pool.

Comfortably furnished and well-appointed, Bastide du Val sleeps up to 6 guests in 3 welcoming bedrooms. The delightfully designed open plan living and dining area has doors to ceiling windows leading to the outside dining terrace. A gas barbecue is also provided, perfect to make the most out of the summer evenings.

Good amenities can be found in Le Revest les Eaux, an atmospheric and laid-back village, located just 1.4km from the villa. The towns of Toulon and Hyeres are both a short drive away, making for interesting day-trips out.

Scattered around the countryside are many wonderful walking, cycling and mountain-biking trails that showcase the breathtaking natural beauty of the Var Department.

Le Revest les Eaux is a typical hilltop Provencal village overlooked by the Caume, Grand Cap and Faron mountains. A colourful hidden gem which has always been popular among artists and painters, where one can visit the stunning Saracen tower, castles and churches. In this quaint village you will find local shops, 'boulangeries', bars and a restaurant as well as an artificial lake.

Toulon is a picturesque seaside city, home to the French Naval fleet, with cute narrow streets, ancient fountains, a daily market, several museums, cafes and restaurants. Taking the cable car from the city centre and reach the Mount Faron is a must!

The European blue flag Mourillon beaches are not far away either, perfect for families, with all facilities and plenty of watersports opportunities.

The medieval town of Hyeres is also within easy reach. Here, you will be able to admire colourful facades, beautiful parks, gardens and visit interesting historical buildings.

Offering beautiful landscapes with both mountains and sea, the Var Department is dotted with typical traditional villages and a wide choice of outdoor activities such as hiking, biking and horse-back riding.

The chef will arrive with all the necessary ingredients as well as the talent to turn them into something unforgettable. They’ll serve the meal and clear up afterwards - an easy and entertaining way to enjoy a top quality meal in your very own villa!

B) Full Chef Service: If you really want to kick back and relax, we can arrange for a chef to cater for the duration of your holiday (or part of it). With a range of options from simple family catering to full-on haute cuisine, we can organise a meal plan and a price to suit your needs. So why worry about self-catering when you can have everything taken care of?

    This house and its setting are superb. There are mountains on both sides as you take in the view from the front of the house and look down the valley to the harbour at Toulon, in the distance. The house is beautifully furnished in the French style throughout and encourages you to start relaxing as soon as you have unpacked. There is a lovely pool to the side of the house with a covered terrace for eating. Note that the pool is not heated, so don't try to edge your way in - just jump in! The nearby village centre is lovely and has a great boulangerie and village store. There are also some bars at which to take a coffee or glass of wine and watch the residents going about their daily business. Walk to the top of the village and there are great views to be had. Nicole, the owner, is lovely and cannot do enough to help you settle in. Note that you will definitely need a hire car or your own car with this property (if only to visit the boulangerie in the morning for fresh baguettes and croissants, which are delicious). On the day we were leaving, the petrol tanker drivers had gone on strike. Nicole led us in her vehicle to a petrol station nearby to ensure we had a full tank to get to the airport at Nice. We were here for a week and would have liked longer. A peaceful haven of simple living - a bit like England in the 1950s! Great holiday and will do again.
