Overview
In the hills of the Alpes-Maritimes department in southeastern France, this stunning holiday home stands amongst an abundance of greenery and enjoys endless countryside views near some of the French Riviera’s most charming villages. The French Riviera enjoys worldwide recognition due to its wonderful sunny climate, beaches, and affluent cities, and it has been luring jet setters for centuries.
This traditional home boasts a cosy living room with a sofa facing the fireplace for all those snug nights in, as well as a dining area where you can enjoy treasured moments in the company of a home-cooked meal, your family and friends. Wooden beams, soft lighting and traditional crockery decorate the communal areas. All three bedrooms are designed in the same hues with wooden furniture and comfy beds.
Outside, guests can take in the sweeping views from the comfort of a sun lounger or directly from the pool, while multiple shaded spots also offer an option for unwinding. Or, simply spread out a blanket in the shade of pine, chestnut and olive trees planted in the garden and absorb the powdery scent of mimosa flowers as you gaze into the distance.
The closest village, Berre-Les-Alpes, is just a 5-minute drive away and has local amenities such as restaurants and a mini market. This area is the best for hiking, walking and exploring nature, with many trails just outside the villa. Mont Macaron is a great example, with a view of the high mountains in the distance and the surrounding villages. Ruines de Châteauneuf Villevieille has castle ruins at the top of a hill, making it an excellent place to have an unforgettable picnic.
A bit further away, just over a 40-minute drive, Nice sits tall and proud on the coastline. It has a charming historic centre where you can stroll for hours and discover the many markets, landmarks and historic buildings. On a warm day, relax on the city’s pebbly beach or escape the heat by visiting one of its many museums and galleries.
Flashy Monaco is also just a 50-minute drive away and has an exquisite casino, a 13th-century palace, a glitzy port and a bustling dining scene.

Location
About the surrounding area of Villa SorelFor a taste of the city life and the beach, head to Nice for an idyllic day trip from Villa Sorel. The beautiful Mediterranean city is just over a half an hour drive away, and its buzzing dining and nightlife scene alongside beaches and coves make it well worth exploring.
After a stroll through its cobbled historic centre, head to Cathédrale Saint-Nicolas de Nice – a byzantine-style place of Orthodox worship and gardens at the site of Tsarevich Nicholas' death. Continue your sightseeing by visiting the Gothic church, Basilique Notre-Dame de l’Assomption and do not forget to stop by the Musée Matisse – an elegant 17th-century villa containing a museum of paintings by Matisse. For some greenery, head to Parc Chambrun, with paths, benches and tall trees, or Le Parc du Ray boasting a pretty fountain. There are plenty of restaurants and bars to sample traditional French cuisine alongside seafood and Mediterranean dishes.
Nearby, you can also explore Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat, the world's second most expensive residential location (after Monaco). With an abundance of lovely beaches, breathtaking views, and azure waters, this is a fantastic option for a day spent by the sea. Some notable beaches include Plage Cros Dei Pin, Plage Paloma and Plage de la Fosse.
Monaco, less than an hour's drive away, boasts everything a holiday-goer is looking for, including local distilleries, a city beach and landscaped gardens. Spend your days visiting hidden coves aboard a rented yacht or sailboard, lazing around in one of the beach clubs or visiting one of the city’s interesting sites, such as the prince’s residence – a 13th-century palace with many ornate rooms and grand decor. Notable buildings worth ticking off your list include the Monte Carlo Casino, Monaco Cathedral and the botanical gardens Jardin Exotique.
In Cannes, visitors can look forward to kicking back in its leafy parks, and walking around the old quarter of Le Suquet. The Parc Naturel Forestier de la Croix des Gardes overlooks the city, bay and surrounding peaks, making it a great spot. Boulevard de la Croisette curves along the Mediterranean with breezy sea views. Just past the Palais des Festivals building to the west is the Vieux Port, full of sailboats, yachts, and fishing boats.
Alternatively, the Lérins Islands allow you to escape the French Riviera crowds, with the archipelago being conveniently located on the Bay of Cannes, accessible by private charter boats or ferries.

Region
The Provençal way of life is one that’s deeply tempting for anyone who’s been feeling the need to get away from it all. This is a place where the Mediterranean weather turns fields of corn and lavender into picture-perfect backdrops, where you can sip your locally bought wine and enjoy the landscapes before heading out and tackling them head-on with a range of great activities for families, groups of friends and adventurous foodies. Better yet, our range of villas in Provence and chateaux and holiday homes in the Côte d’Azur make the perfect base to explore this enchanting region!
Kids
Best Suited For: All AgesChildren who love running around and playing will enjoy the villa’s surrounding forests, where you can get lost together. Equestrian centres are dotted all around the hills, and in the closest village, you can even find a tennis court. Most hiking areas in this region are also accessible for children and include the Pyramid of Falicon – a stone pyramid above a cave believed to date back to the early 1800s. Alternatively, Canal De Gairaut is a short but scenic path that follows a historic canal past trees and bridges and boasts scenic city views.
You can also hop in the car and head to one of the French Riviera’s many beach spots. Notably, in Antibes, Plage de la Gravette has easy access right near the Old Town. By the port, Plage du Ponteil runs from the Antibes ramparts to the rocky Cap d’Antibes and has soft, white sand, clear shallow waters, a lifeguard station, and a palm-lined promenade with a playground for the kids.
A bit further away from Antibes, there’s Marineland, which hosts dolphin shows and showcases sharks and birds alongside a separate waterpark which children will immediately fall in love with.
In Nice and Monaco, you can find family-friendly activities such as museums, galleries, parks, and stunning historic buildings, which can be visited most of the year.
