If you are seeking your very own corner of Provençal paradise yet yearn to be within easy reach of the French Riviera, Villa Genevrier is an exceptional villa a short stroll from artistic Saint-Paul-de-Vence and the highly regarded Fondation Maeght.

Staying at Villa Genevrier is more like living in a boutique style hotel with its high-end furnishings and gorgeous décor. As well as stunning living spaces and French windows opening up to the wonderful gardens, the main villa is home to four inviting bedrooms, including an en suite master double with the most romantic rolltop bath and huge dressing room. A fifth pretty bedroom can be found in its own studio whilst the final double is in a separate guesthouse, perhaps ideal for an accompanying nanny or other staff.

The gardens are simply glorious with beautiful terraces and the most delightful palate of summer colours as agapanthuses, hydrangeas and lavender bloom alongside fruit, olive and palm trees – a true Provençal idyll with hints that you are so close to the Mediterranean.

Inspired by the renowned La Colombe d'Or hotel, lounge by the exquisite swimming pool and prepare great feasts with family and friends to enjoy in the shade of the superb and spacious summer kitchen, a joyous place for all to gather at any time of day.

Stroll down the lane to the highly regarded Fondation Maeght to admire its collection of modern art and wander through its incredible Joan Miró sculpture garden. Then continue walking into the heart of Saint Paul de Vence and soak up the artistic vibe of this very special place, known to be one of the most beautiful villages in France.

As well as other historic villages and towns from Vence to Valbonne, the French Riviera awaits with its palm-fringed shores, boat trips and watersports. Not to mention Côte d'Azur gems such as Nice, Monaco and Cannes alongside the charm and beauty of Antibes and its peninsula.

From Provençal markets and breathtaking walking trails to glamorous bars and sunset cruises, this part of southern France will captivate you in so many ways.

In the Alpes-Maritimes department, part of the Côte d'Azur hinterland, Villa Genevrier is within walking distance to the artistic hilltop village of Saint Paul de Vence. Furthermore, it’s only a 20-minute drive from Nice Airport and also within easy reach of the beaches of the French Riviera.

Follow the hilly road to reach the very heart of Saint Paul de Vence in around 1km. The perched village is one of France’s most beautiful and is famed for its artistic ambience – dine in La Colombe d'Or restaurant where the likes of Matisse and Picasso used to stay. As you wander through its medieval lanes and historic ramparts, admire the incredible views of the French Riviera. Then head to the main square for a coffee and watch locals play pétanque or look out for the charming Farmer’s market on a Wednesday and Friday morning.

The wonderful Fondation Maeght is even closer, a museum of modern art which was created in the 1960s. Visit some of its permanent collection, check what exhibitions may be taking place and explore its gardens with its many striking sculptures by Joan Miró.

Neighbouring Vence (5km) is another magnificent place to visit, especially for Matisse’s enchanting Chapelle du Rosaire. Other incredible villages and towns dotted across the region include Opio, Biot, Grasse, Mougins and Valbonne, all within a 30-minute drive. It goes without saying that the landscapes of this area are ideal for long walks or hikes between villages, passing olive groves, woodland, rivers, flourishing wildlife and rolling hills.

The French Riviera is never far away – the beaches around Cagnes-sur-Mer are only 9km by car or drive further towards Nice, Monaco or the palm-fringed shores of Cannes. Discover some of the breathtaking coastal trails and little coves of Cap d'Antibes before heading to Juan-Les-Pins for some superb watersports and a meal in a chic beachside restaurant.

Catch a ferry across to the idyllic Lérins Islands for a more tranquil day out or hop on a sunset cruise or dolphin-watching boat excursion, some of the many ways to discover the beauty of the Côte d'Azur.
