On a warm summer evening, sit out on your poolside terrace for an apéritif before strolling into the heart of Saint-Tropez to dine out in an upmarket restaurant. This chic French Riviera enjoys an enviable location just 400m from Place des Lices where Saint Tropez’s bustling twice-weekly Provençal market takes place.
Villa Citrouille welcomes up to 10 guests across its five attractive bedrooms. The open-plan living and dining room is contemporary in style, light-filled with large windows opening out to the poolside terrace. The master bedroom is on the same floor with a dressing room, poolside access and en suite bathroom whilst there is a second en suite double on this level. Downstairs by the lower garden you will find three further bedrooms, each with queen-size double beds and their own bathrooms.
The heated swimming pool is set in a Mediterranean garden with palms and olive trees alongside a vast terrace for outdoor lounging and al-fresco dining. As evening approaches, the garden and swimming pool are atmospherically lit up.
Pick up a wealth of Provençal delights at the market on a Tuesday and Saturday morning or make the most of the many places to eat within walking distance from picturesque café terraces to high-end establishments. Explore Saint-Tropez’s old quarter with colourful houses, narrow lanes, pretty squares, art galleries and boutiques, then walk over to the marina to admire fishing boats and luxury yachts. Boat trips tour the French Riviera coast and ferries whisk you away to Port Grimaud, Sainte-Maxime and beyond.
A short drive away is Plage de Pampelonne and its exclusive beach clubs and summer watersports or venture to idyllic bays such as Plage de l'Escalet and Plage de Gigaro for idyllic scenery, snorkelling and coastal hikes.
Play golf in elegant surroundings, visit Saint-Tropez’s wine châteaux and spend time in Port Grimaud, known as the ‘Venice of the Côte d’Azur’ - Monday evenings in July and August are especially lovely when the marché nocturne takes place. Other gems in this part of the French Riviera include flower-filled Grimaud and artistic Ramatuelle as well as the historic hilltop village of Gassin, officially classified as one of France’s ‘Plus Beaux Villages’ and only 9km away by car.

Stroll a little further to the old quarter with narrow lanes, boutiques, café terraces, upmarket restaurants and charming little squares. Spend time visiting museums, art galleries, shops and the impressive marina. Saint Tropez’s iconic beach, Plage de Pampelonne, is around a 10-minute drive away, summer traffic dependent. This long stretch of sandy coastline offers a wealth of seasonal watersports and exclusive beach clubs including Le Club 55 (5.5km) and Nikki Beach Saint Tropez (6.5km).
Heading towards Port Grimaud, play golf at the Gary Player designed course at Golf Club Saint-Tropez (7.5km), tour the vineyards of Saint-Tropez’s wine châteaux and watch polo matches at the Polo Resort & Country Club (7km).

Region
Once a traditional fishing village, Saint-Tropez is now one of the most glamourous destinations of the Côte d’Azur and welcomes visitors from across the world.
However, there’s more to Saint-Tropez bay than exclusive beach clubs, glitzy boutiques and fine dining restaurants. From the family-friendly beaches of Sainte-Maxime to the vineyards of La Croix Valmer, Oliver’s Travels guests can truly admire this enchanting corner of the French Riviera whilst staying in one of our handpicked villas in and around Saint-Tropez.
Soak up the luxurious yet laidback vibe of Saint-Tropez as you wander around its marina lined with huge yachts contrasting colourful fishermen’s houses overlooking the bay. The old quarter is a warren of winding lanes with French designer boutiques, picturesque cafes and restaurants whilst Place des Lices hosts a vibrant Provençal market on a Tuesday and Saturday morning. Enjoy the most glorious vistas from Saint-Tropez’s 17th century citadel and maritime museum. Boat trips are another superb way to tour this part of the coast and passenger ferries cross the bay.
Just south of the town, follow Brigitte Bardot’s footsteps as you visit one of Plage de Pampelonne’s exclusive beach clubs, the most famous being Le Club 55 (always book well in advance). Stretching over 5km, Pampelonne’s long sandy beach is also loved for its vast range of summer watersports including jet-skiing, windsurfing and paddleboarding.
The picture-perfect villages of Saint-Tropez bay are beautifully located to make the most of the French Riviera scenery. On the hillside overlooking Plage de Pampelonne, Ramatuelle has attracted artists and writers over the years and is full of charm – look out for performances during its theatre and jazz festivals in the summer months. Meanwhile, hilltop Gassin is classified as one of France’s 'Plus Beaux Villages’ whilst flower-filled Grimaud is such a pretty medieval village with yet more stunning views of the coast.
Driving into the Maures hills, discover the characterful villages of La Garde-Freinet and Le Plan-de-la-Tour surrounded by oak and chestnut forests, a paradise for hikers, mountain bikers, horse-riding enthusiasts and other outdoor adventurists.
Back to the coast, take a boat tour of Port Grimaud, known as the ‘little Venice of the Côte d’Azur’, and experience its atmospheric Monday evening summer market. Across the other side of the bay, Sainte-Maxime is a lovely sheltered seaside town with pretty cafes, a daily market and gorgeous beaches. Families adore this area – there are tree-top adventures, tennis, mini-golf, a water park and coastal paths for biking and hiking.
Golf-lovers can appreciate a choice of courses – Golf Blue Green as well as the prestigious Beauvallon Golf Club and Golf Club Saint-Tropez. Wine connoisseurs should head to the wine châteaux of Saint-Tropez and Pampelonne as well as the vineyards of La Croix Valmer.
Not forgetting the idyllic shores of soft sand and crystal-clear sea of La Croix Valmer’s coastline from Plage de Sylvabelle to Plage de Gigaro, also home to a wonderful coastal walking trail with the most incredible flora and fauna alongside sensational views of the Mediterranean as you hike towards Cap Lardier and beyond.
Kids
Best Suited For: All AgesIt is fantastic being able to walk into Saint-Tropez’s centre – within 400m you can be soaking up the ambience of the twice-weekly market at Place des Lices, then continue towards the marina or old quarter. Visit art galleries and museums and enjoy a range of boat excursions, ferry trips or private yacht charters.
There is a tiny bay you can walk to near the centre but the most popular beach for families tends to be Plage de Pampelonne, around 6-8km away by car. The long sandy beach is famous for its exclusive beach clubs and summer watersports including paddle-boarding, canoeing, pedalo hire, jet-ski and more. There are smaller bays to consider a little further south such as Plage de l'Escalet (great for scuba-diving and snorkelling) and idyllic Plage de Gigaro. In the other direction, Plage de Grimaud is also loved by families.
Across the other side of the bay (best reached by ferry) is family-friendly Sainte-Maxime, a charming seaside town with lovely beaches, watersports, a summer carrousel and tourist road train. On the edge of the town heading towards the mountains there is a waterpark and tree-top adventure centre.
Discover more tree-top trails at Grimaud Aventure, next to the go-karting track around 10km away. This area also offers horse-riding, mini-golf and family attractions at Azur Park, open on summer evenings. Not to mention coastal hikes, mountain biking through the Maures hills and beautiful walks, a great way to appreciate the scenery of the French Riviera and its hinterland.
