Featured in The Times '50 Best Villas in the Med' 2017

A lovely villa with large pool, sea views, secluded gardens and only a 4-minute walk to a beautiful sandy beach and restaurants…and all just 20 minutes from St Tropez.

Gigaro Beach House is a rare and very special find in the Côte d’Azur. Not surprisingly, many guests return year after year, so booking early is highly recommended!

From the moment you pass through the imposing iron gates, this little corner of paradise, with its roman style private pool, long wooden balconies and glimpses of the blue sea will raise your spirits and enfold you in its spell. Almost everything in this comfortable and stylish villa is dressed in natural materials; burgundy stone, marble, fine timber, handmade brick and wrought iron.

Gigaro beach, one of the most beautiful in the South of France is just a 4-minute walk away: you can enjoy an early morning swim in the sea and buy fresh croissants for breakfast as you walk back home to your beautiful villa.

There is a supermarket for all basic needs and several restaurants within easy walking distance, with choices from ‘feet in the sand’ to more sophisticated. Just five minutes drive away at La Croix Valmer, you’ll also find butchers, bakers, seafood and more. A back road reaches St Tropez in just 20 minutes, but the intrepid may walk there on the scenic route along the coastal paths.

The owners know that this most desirable area has so much to offer and so they enjoy sharing information with their guests about local attractions: superb wine domains, concerts in ancient chapels or chateaux, jazz and dancing in the amphitheatre in La Croix Valmer, nightlife in St Tropez, sailing and other nautical sports, golf, riding,  polo and much more nearby.

But with this very special villa you have the option to put the car keys away and stroll to the lovely beaches, woods and restaurants.

Your very own little paradise…

Owner Profile

How long have you owned the property?
We stumbled on the beautiful unspoilt beach at Gigaro 14 years ago and spent 4 years finding a house there.

What aspect of the house did you really fall in love with?

We swapped an inland vineyard for the unspoiled beauty of this coast, relishing the milder climate, tempered by the sea.

Are there any interesting stories in its history?
The house is built on land purchased from the descendants of a wealthy jute manufacturer who bought all the coastal land round Gigaro in the nineteenth century after he had travelled along it by horse and carriage, as entranced by the lovely landscape as we still are today. Sarah Bernhardt, the famous French actress built a chateau nearby and today well known personalities such as Joan Collins have lovely properties and fiercely guard the area from development.

For anyone coming to stay is there anything they should...
Really do?

Even in high season you can enjoy an almost solitary early morning bathe in the pristine waters. A must see is a walk along the spine of Cap Lardier with stunning views of the sea on three sides with vineyards, olive groves and woods running down to the water, hard to believe St. Tropez is just over the hill.

Really eat?
Must eats are the local seafood bought as the catch comes in at Cavalaire or cooked for you. In local restaurants, especially langouste and cigales de mer smaller and sweeter than lobster.

Really see?
For celebrity spotting take lunch at Club 55 just fifteen minutes drive or a long walk on the way to St. Tropez. On Sundays mornings La Croix Valmer has a thriving market and antique hunters can haunt  the extensive stalls of the Jas des Roberts in the hills behind Port Grimaud.

Are there any insider tips you can share?

There are wonderfully smart chateau vineyards all around to enjoy wine tasting, the smaller, fully organic, Domaine la Tourraque lies down a track towards the bay of Briande. It is a superb location.

  • Amazing Stay at Gigaro Beach House!

    Posted by Danielle on 22/08/2018

We enjoyed a wonderful holiday at Gigaro Beach House. The location is superb: the accessibility to the sea and the coastal path, the convenience of the shop/bar/restaurants in the immediate vicinity, combined with the very private feel of the property itself, and the easy access to the facilities of La Croix-Valmer, Cavalaire and of course St Tropez. But these things you know! Steve and Zoe were charming, informative, and very welcoming, and made it clear they were available to help with any problems. The house was beautifully presented, the gardens lovely and we felt very lucky but also very much at home.

  • Wonderful Holiday!

Posted by Professor Belinda L. on 13/07/2018

We had such a wonderful time at your beautiful house! what we particularly liked was that it was obviously a home as opposed to a holiday rental. We appreciated the fact that there were all the things you need in the kitchen, that there were plenty of sun lounger cushions, and mosquito repellent and the supply of hats! They were all really thoughtful touches that made a difference. The layout of the house and the landscaping around are just perfect. And an amazing location of course. Steve and Zoe were very welcoming and responsive whenever we asked anything of them. That included the pool going green, or wanting to arrange a private chef, or find a local tennis court. It was pretty much the perfect holiday!

  • Nice Property!

Generally beautiful furnishings, location lovely pool. Its a home and full of personal belongings which give a rather cluttered look for a visiting guest.

  • Really Happy

It was an easy process to coordinate the booking. Once we were at the Beach House, all information readily available and it was very nice.
