Overview

Recommended Pool Walk to Beach Walk to Village

There is a certain nostalgic romance that comes with the Côte d’Azur, especially here at Le Cap, where the view of the bay of Villefranche and Cap Ferrat is possibly one of the most prized in Europe.

This spacious and sunny apartment is in a privileged location; facing South towards the bay of Villefranche, one of the deepest natural harbours in the Mediterranean, and just a stroll away from the town and the beach. Villefranche is a delightful town with a fabulous array of restaurants, including the old town with its narrow, cobbled streets and the seafront, both dotted with excellent restaurants. Enjoy the town’s Saturday food market or the two antique markets held on Sundays. Hop on a train and explore the glitzy Riviera with ease…Nice, Cannes, Antibes, Monte Carlo and even Italy are on the doorstep. In Cap Ferrat, after exploring, especially The Villa Rothschild and gardens, dine in style on fresh seafood on the beach and watch the sun set over Villefranche.

Le Cap enjoys a calm setting in a small, tidy and private complex above the bay. It makes full use of the beautiful views and sunny aspect with a large South-facing terrace and impressive glass picture windows along the spacious and bright living room, both of which offer breath-taking views. A refreshing and panoramic swimming pool is available, but most guests head down to the beach, just a 15-minute walk away. There is also a small garden terrace, all you need for cooking and dining lavishly both indoors and outdoors and everything is comfortable, bright, attractive and bathed in the Mediterranean sunshine.

Dreamy, relaxing holidays are made up of everything Le Cap has to offer, including a touch of glamorous Côte d’Azur style and romance.

What you should know…

  • As the apartment is in an elevated position, the walk back from the town and beach is uphill and so will take a little longer.
  • There is limited unassigned parking spaces within the complex, however as it is in a cul-de-sac, there is no through-traffic and therefore street parking is safe and free of charge.
  • The apartment is on the second floor and there is a lift.
  • Air-conditioning is in the bedrooms only.
  • The swimming pool is shared by the residents in the complex, however it is relatively underutilized.

Owner Profile

How long have you owned the property?
Since 1999.

What was it about the property that you first fell in love with?
The aspect, view and situation.

Are there any interesting stories in its history?
Not particularly.

Have you ever had any famous guests staying?
Several film stars and two film directors have stayed at the apartment. It would be indiscreet to mention names.

For anyone coming to stay is there anything in the surrounding area they should...

Really do?
Visit the Villa kerylos, Beaulieu Ser Mer, and  Villa Rothschild, St Jean-Cap Ferrat.

Really eat?
Try the Nicoise street food socca (a sort of  chickpea pancake) also  a pizza like food called Pissaladiere, topped with anchovies and onion. By the way the Nicoise invented Ratatouille.

Really see?
A firework display over Cap Ferrat.

What insider tip would you pass on about the property or the area?
Having exhausted the sights of the Cote d’Azur hop on the ferry to Corsica, the ferry leaves the Port of Nice several times a day. Also there is a massive market in Ventimiglia just over the boarder in Italy. This takes place every Friday. To drive it takes about an hour. By train from Villefranche also about an hour.

  • Superb. Really loved the place!

What a lovely apartment. It had everything we could ask for, fantastic views, comfort, fully equipped. Great location with a refreshing swimming pool.

  • Simply Fantastic!

Exactly as it appears to be, beautiful views, comfortable accommodation an amazing area to explore with something for everyone. So good we've booked again for next year and I think that says it all ! We were glad of hiring a small car, street parking mainly and very tight bends made journeys fun and a little hair raising. Can't wait till next year. You can even book beach sun beds now via the Internet, although we were very happy with the pool and public beaches. Thanks!

  • Classy, comfortable apartment with fabulous views!

Posted by Nick and Amanda W. on 02/09/2016

This was our second holiday at Le Cap and we hope it won't be our last. The apartment was as impressive as we remembered - beautifully clean, spacious and tastefully furnished, well maintained and equipped with everything to make it home for the duration of our stay. The kitchen has everything you need to cook a proper meal if you wish and there's a BBQ too. If not, the town has so many great restaurants you can eat out every day. The view from the front terrace over the bay is magnificent, a constant source of entertainment. The pool is clean and easily accessible and the walk down into town and to the beach is a feature of the holiday in itself. No need for a car as the train takes you all along the coast, and buses stop nearby as well. The very helpful owner answered all our questions and returned our deposit promptly. We would highly recommend Le Cap.

  • Superb apartment, with stunning view!

Posted by Duncan P. on 07/08/2016

We had a fabulous week at Le Cap. The apartment was superb, very well equipped and the view was absolutely stunning. Lovely communal pool, which on many occasions we had all to ourselves. We visited Menton and Nice by bus and took the train to Ventimigila. The hilltop village of Eze had fantastic views from the exotic gardens. Visited Villa Rothchilds and gardens on Cap Ferrat which was absolutely beautiful. Villefranche is a lovely and we enjoyed the beach and sea. The weather was superb all week and we finished the holiday with an excellent seafood meal on the beach at Cap Ferrat ,watching the sunset on Villefranche. Communications with the owner throughout were excellent. Many thanks for a wonderful holiday!

  • Lovely apartment with fantastic balcony and views

Posted by Alec k. on 21/08/2015

Very enjoyable. Well maintained apartment affording comfortable accommodation and brilliant views over Villefrance. Small but well-equipped kitchen ideal for preparation of breakfast and lunch. With 2 grown-up children we welcomed having 2 bathrooms and 3 toilets. Huge balcony with a table , chairs and settees, ideal for relaxing and taking in the views with a glass of wine. Shared pool was good for an evening dip but lacked shade and adequate seating during the day. However the beach is only a short drive away.

  • Fabulous!

We spent a lovely week in this beautiful and well maintained apartment. The view from the spacious balcony was simply stunning. We are looking forward to returning in one of the next years.
