Villa de Velours is a gorgeous villa on a hillside with panoramic views across wooded hills towards the sparkling Mediterranean. Close to Théoule-sur-Mer, the fashionable resort of Cannes is also easily accessible in this glorious part of the Côte d'Azur.
The villa is fully modernised and very comfortable, sumptuously furnished with four cleverly designed levels connected by lift. White walls and expansive doors and windows maximise the amazing views while beams, cornices and wood panels add character to the home.
A group of family and friends can comfortably socialise in the spacious living and terrace areas, relax around the large pool, compete in the billiards room, party next to the grand piano or find peace and quiet in the library and study next to the garden. All the bedrooms are comfortable and elegant - the luxurious master bedroom has a dressing room, impressive bathroom and a private balcony with sea-views.
It’s only a short drive from the shops and restaurants of Théoule-sur-Mer, a tiny cove on the Esterel coast with a castle, lighthouse and pretty beaches.
The glamour of Cannes is sure to beckon, so drive along the famous Corniche D’Or or take the short train trip from the nearby train station. Here you will find celebrity beaches, grand hotels and expensive boutiques as well as some local dishes from the food stalls in charming medieval Le Suquet. If you have time, take the ferry from Cannes to the idyllic Lérins Islands where there are more great beaches for swimming.
There are many more pretty beaches and rocky coves at the seaside resort of Saint-Raphaël, 25km away, some with restaurants and cafés - try one of the beautiful coastal walks or take a summer boat ride to Saint-Tropez.
This is also a wonderful area for hiking and mountain biking - the Esterel Massif contains thousands of hectares of volcanic mountains and forest with its typically red rocks and green pines contrasting with the azure sea.

Location
About the surrounding area of Villa De VeloursHilltop Villa de Velours is in the Alpes Maritime region of the glorious Côte d'Azur, on the edge of a wooded semi-residential area 9km from Théoule-sur-Mer. The nearest beaches are only 3km away, featuring the red rock and pebbles so typical of this part of the coast and ideal spots for snorkelling and swimming in the azure Mediterranean.
Théoule-sur-Mer (9km) is situated in a small cove on the Esterel coast, a peaceful spot with a marina and distinctive lighthouse and castle. At nearby Pointe de L’Aiguille the red rocks plunge into the sea and there are spectacular views of the sea, coastline and mountains. Walk along the path to find a sandy stretch of beach perfect for sandcastles as well as spotting underwater sea life – pick up a map and explore the marked marine trail in the summer months and there is a restaurant and snack bar for lunch. The adventurous can walk up and over the point to a wilder beach with cave and high rocks around the corner.
When the glamour and glitz of Cannes (20km) beckons, either drive past the wild coves beside the Corniche d’Or or pick up the train from the nearby station, 4km away, for a relaxing 17-minute journey. The bustling city has wonderful beaches, extravagant hotels, bars and expensive boutiques as well as the chance of a ferry ride to the idyllic Lérins Islands.
Alternatively, head southwards to the lively seaside resort and harbour of Saint-Raphaël (24km) which lies beneath the forested hills of Massif des Maures. There are so many pretty beaches here, some with restaurants and cafés while quieter bathing spots can be found in rocky coves. There are some great walks along the coastline here or you may prefer to wander around the town and marina, visit the playground at Jardin Bonaparte or even take a summer boat trip to Saint-Tropez.
Not far from Saint-Raphaël is the old military port and Roman city of Fréjus
situated on the plains between two sets of mountains. There are many Roman monuments to discover as well as the twice weekly farmer’s market in the medieval quarter and a beachside Sunday morning market in the summer. There is a great atmosphere at Plage de Fréjus where many water sports can be found during the summer.
The whole area is a walker’s paradise – the fabulous Esterel Massif contains 32,000 hectares of volcanic mountains and forest between the Mediterranean and Provence, its red rocks and green pine trees contrasting with the blue of the sea. A fabulous wide mountain biking track loops out from Théoule-sur-Mer, one of many to be found in the Esterel. There are also 23km of footpaths to explore among the cork and maritime pine trees of the Tanneron Massif (39km) and nature lovers will enjoy discovering the trails and paths leading to the summit of Grosses Grues (8km).
