In a unique setting in the heart of Vallauris, Maison Cottin is an elegant abode in a wonderful location close to the glitz and glamour of Cannes.
Step inside and admire the exquisite renovation of this historic villa which offers five air-conditioned bedrooms as well as a sauna and swimming pool. The ornate detailing of the grand hallway, beautiful living area and splendid dining room will take you back in time despite the feeling of 21st century comfort. Across this abode, bold artwork adorns the wall as a reminder of the great artists that have been inspired by this alluring part of southern France.
The gorgeous interiors continue upstairs with the spacious master bedroom with its extravagant en suite featuring a double ended bath, as well as four further bedrooms across the first and second floor. The TV lounge on the top floor is another lovely touch or you may prefer a little solitude in the pretty library on the main level. Throughout this maison there is so much space for guests to truly relax in superb surroundings.
The swimming pool is yet another fantastic addition, great for cooling off after a day out exploring, and a courtyard-style terrace is ideal for al-fresco dining. Enjoy a pastis out on the balcony before wandering out to town for a bite to eat. Or call a taxi to whisk you to Cannes for the evening, after all it’s only 6km away.
When wandering around Vallauris, look out for little ceramic studios as well as sculptures and artwork inspired by the great artist who lived here for some time – the Musée National Pablo Picasso is just a short stroll away.
Head to the beaches of the Côte d'Azur, the nearest just 3km away, enjoy the watersports of Cannes or Juan-Les-Pins, stroll around the old quarter of Antibes or take a boat trip out to the tranquil Lérins islands.
With idyllic villages and market towns such as Mougins, Biot, Valbonne and Grasse also within striking distance, not to mention yet more artistic treasures in St Paul de Vence and Nice, Maison Cottin is a fine home from which to explore this captivating part of the French Riviera.

About the surrounding area of Maison CottinWhen you arrive at the marvellous Maison Cottin it’s fantastic setting may take you by surprise – for it’s in the heart of a bustling town just outside of Cannes, on a little road with shops, galleries, cafes and restaurants just a few steps away.
Vallauris is well-known for its ceramics which you can buy in various studios dotted across the town, as well as its associations with Picasso who lived here for several years. Look out for sculptures and street-art inspired by the great painter, admire Picasso’s bronze sculpture in the old town and visit the Musée National Pablo Picasso.
Head to Golfe Juan’s port, around 3km away, and admire the boats in the harbour before relaxing on one of the sandy beaches or dining in an atmospheric restaurant near the promenade. You’ll also find boat hire and fishing opportunities in this picturesque and relaxed seaside resort.
Of course, the glamour of Cannes is never far away – in around 6km you could be strolling along one of France’s most iconic boulevards, La Croisette, with its glistening beaches, high-end hotels and glitzy restaurants and bars. Explore the charming old quarter, Le Suquet, with amazing views down towards the bay and experience the ambience at one of the bustling markets such as Marché Forville.
Boat trips depart from Cannes harbour to the more tranquil Lérins Islands or enjoy a tour of the French Riviera with your own private skipper at sunset. Watersports are also extremely popular in Cannes from stand-up paddle boarding and sea-kayaking to sailing, diving and much more.
Watersport enthusiasts will also appreciate the great beaches around Juan-les-Pins (6km), a vibrant and chic resort with some great restaurants and bars. Then there’s Antibes (8km) with its historic old town and super-yacht marina as well as its peninsular, Cap d'Antibes, for wonderful walks and idyllic beaches.
Nice (27km) can be reached in half an hour, another fine day trip, as is Monaco (49km) and even the border with Italy, passing picturesque seaside resorts such as Èze and Beaulieu-sur-Mer.
The delights of the Côte d'Azur hinterland are also close by with picture-perfect villages such as Mougins (8km) and Biot (12km), the perfume factories of Grasse (22km), the historic market of Valbonne (13km) and some lovely walks through rolling hills of olive groves, woodland and rivers.

Best Suited For: All AgesIn the heart of Vallauris, it is great for families to be able to stroll out to shops and restaurants. Young artists can look out for Picasso inspired artwork across the town and visit the Musée National Pablo Picasso or watch ceramics being made in little studios.
The attractive sandy beaches of Golfe Juan are only 3km away, where you will also find boat hire. Just nearby, Parc du Paradou is a wild park waiting to be discovered by young explorers with woodland, hills and some spectacular views.
The delights of Cannes are also close by with fantastic beaches, boat trips and a huge amount of watersports. Juan-Les-Pins, close to Antibes, is also great for watersports along its brilliant beaches.
There is plenty to do away from the coast too – find paint-balling, go-karting and tree-top adventuring near Grasse as well as football, tennis and amusement parks near Villeneuve-Loubet.
Antibes and the surrounding area is also home to a waterpark, farm and summer funfairs – there seems to be something for everyone in this part of the French Riviera.
