Maison du Marineu is a beautifully refurbished medieval mansion set right out into the tranquil Dordogne countryside, with use of your own private 6 x 12 metre swimming pool. The mansion itself holds up to 8 guests, but the historic tower can also be privatised and included for an extra 4 guests in two gorgeous en-suite double bedrooms.

The house is surrounded by luscious parkland, including a tennis court and scented garden that wafts the aromas of the lavender plants around the property, making the idyllic outdoor seating areas that much sweeter. The interiors are full of traditional touches like the stone flooring, ornate fireplaces and the main living space has a sociable open plan lay out that include the kitchen, sofas and a dining area.

The Inner Courtyard
H
ere, the handsome local wood takes centre stage. The courtyard with its ancient beams and perfectly controlled assembly is of great majesty. The beautiful covered terrace, overlooking the courtyard, is an opportunity for impromptu and lively dinners on summer evenings in an exceptional setting. 

The Park
The large park flirts with the medieval spirit : squares of relaxing and calming greenery, the chapel's garden to meditate, a large lawn for a ball game, lime tree's bouquets near the fountain ... The Scented Garden offers scents and colours of fresh herbs. In a secluded area in the park, pick succulent vegetables in the kitchen-garden. 

The Living Room
The house is primarily the friends house with a large living room where the kitchen stands alongside the dining and living room. While some are busy cooking, others are occupied around the table or sitting in the large sofa near the fireplace ... friendliness guaranteed! For a great atmosphere, you can connect your phone or computer to listen to your favourite music since the room and the covered terrace is entirely equipped with a sound system. An upright piano, regularly granted, await you for a few notes ... 

The Kitchen
Functional and perfectly equipped, the kitchen has a food processor, fridge - freezer, electric oven with a 4 gas hobs cooker, dishwasher and cookware. The beautiful display is sufficiently stocked with dishes to draw a pretty table. On arrival, you will find the staples . The " pile " , a semi-underground space where the temperature remains almost constant, will allow you to keep your shopping back from the market. You can dine around the large table and under the covered terrace where the air is so fresh in summer. To add to your comfort, you can get different services for your breakfasts, lunch baskets or dinners. 

2 Double Bedrooms
Both located on the ground floor of the house, one facing the Scented Garden, the other the garden. Large bedrooms with a king size bed (anti-acarid bedding and cotton linen), wardrobe, closet and dresser. On demand, these two rooms can be converted into twin bedrooms. The bathroom have a double sink and a large shower (with cotton towels). Separate toilets. 

2 Double Bedrooms
Cosy double bedrooms under the eaves of the roof, with their small windows and lovely views over the gardens. Bedrooms with two single beds 90cm x 190cm (anti-acarid beddings and cotton linen), which can be matched in king size. Wardrobe, cupboard, double bedside light. Bathroom with double sinks and bath (with cotton towels) and a separate toilet. 

The Courtyard's Tower
The courtyard's tower has two luxurious and spacious bedrooms, elegant and tastefully decorated, with a soft and serene atmosphere. 

In each room, a king size bed (anti-acarid beddings and cotton linen)and a private bathroom with cotton towels.

Wellness and Leisure
A private flat bottomed swimming pool, secured, of 6m x 12m A tennis court, a charcoal bbq, a table tennis and trampoline. Shady garden, a large park and a kitchen-garden

Périgord is a region where the cultural, natural and gastronomic riches have made ​​the reputation. This area in the north of the region is known as the Périgord Vert, the name coming from the forests of clear oak and chestnut trees, and the wetlands, and meadows that make up the landscape.

Region

The pace of life in the Dordogne is languid, laid back and positively infectious. Relax in bucolic beauty as you drift along the Dordogne River, or wander among the forests and hillside of the Périgord Natural Park.

The foodie scene too, is a relaxed affair. Take your time over your lazy lunches of local duck, black truffles and goats cheese. If you’re feeling energetic, you can even hunt for them yourself. The wine here is second to none, with infamous grapes like Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Chenin Blanc all having a huge presence here.

The Dordogne is also brimming with history. Castles and chateaux are scattered throughout the region, among the enchanting medieval villages. History of an altogether more ancient sort can also be explored in the incredible prehistoric cave drawings of Lascaux and Grotte de Rouffignac.

These terms and conditions may be amended from time to time.

Security deposit €1000 paid in cash to the owner upon arrival and refunded upon departure, subject to full inspection.
Arrival time After 4.00 p.m.
Departure time Before 10.00 a.m.
Energy costs included? Yes.
Heating costs included? Yes.
End of stay cleaning included? Yes. However, guests are required to leave the accommodation clean, tidy and in the same condition as on their arrival. Any extra cleaning, laundry, maintenance and/or rubbish disposal required will be charged against the security deposit.
Linen & towels included? Yes.
Pets welcome? On request only and with prior agreement with the owner.
Smoking Allowed? No.
Changeover day Flexible.
Minimum stay 7 Nights during July and August, 4 nights during all other periods.
Insurance Guests are required to be in possession of a valid insurance policy, which covers them for cancellations, personal belongings, public liability and any accidental damage caused during their stay.

    Beautiful house and grounds, very relaxing place. Tennis court and pool were used most days. The only thing I would say is there were not enough utensils for cooking. Especially for a party of 10. There was plenty of crockery glasses and cutlery. This us a minor fault, and am told these things will be sorted
