The owners of Joli Champ had a clear and simple plan; to create family friendly holiday homes in the heart of the Dordogne where castles, caves, market towns, vineyards and restaurants offer endless delights for the young and old.
The result is three simple yet charming stone houses made with families in mind, plus a host of handy and thoughtful services, designed to make guests’ holidays easy and carefree.
The whole estate includes exclusive use of all three houses and their two swimming pools, making it an ideal solution for large families and groups of friends travelling together.
Joli Champ is the main detached house, which sits at the top end of the drive. This is an elegant restored barn with a private heated pool with electric security cover as well as a gated play area, patio with barbecue and lovely dining area. Indoors there are three bedrooms, an open-plan kitchen/lounge as well as a mezzanine with children’s toys including a doll’s house and a pirate ship. The kitchen is well-equipped and has the added bonus of offering a view over to the pool and fields.
Pear & Peach Cottages, are two adjoining cottages at the bottom end of the drive. They share a large garden with swimming pool with easy access steps for all ages and a lawn area for children to play. The garden contains an abundance of fruit trees including peach, pear, apple, cherry and plum. In front of the cottages is a large shared patio area with a dining table and a large barbecue for each cottage.
Pear Cottage has two double bedrooms. The downstairs bedroom has twin double beds, lovely exposed limestone walls and an original Perigordian fireplace and original tiled floor. Upstairs there is a bathroom with shower and the master bedroom with a king size bed plus a single bed. Peach Cottage has a main double bedroom upstairs with an en-suite WC and hand basin and downstairs there is a twin bedroom with direct access to a fully tiled wet room style bathroom with shower and toilet.
Joli Champ benefits from a peaceful countryside setting with vineyards and small farms ideal for exploring by car or bike. Yet a village is only a five minutes’ drive away and there is easy access to the Dordogne’s many attractions, like its pretty villages, night markets, châteaux and vineyards. Eymet is only 10 minutes away, a fun aqua park 15 minutes and Bergerac, Duras and Issigeac are all under 30 minutes away.
Relaxing and fun family holidays are guaranteed at Joli Champ, so it’s no wonder that many guests return year after year.

The charming medieval village of Issigeac is 25 minutes away where you will be impressed by its fascinating architecture, winding streets and its colourful Sunday morning market selling local produce. There are also boutiques, excellent restaurants and night markets in summer. Very popular events are the 'Foire aux Paniers et à la Vannerie' in July and the Medieval Day in August!
The old town of Bergerac (25 minutes) has kept its architectural heritage from the 14th, 15th and 16th centuries that can be seen in the half-timbered houses and narrow streets, full of local boutiques and good restaurants. Here, you will also find the unmissable 'Maisons de Vins' and will have the opportunity to take a tour along the 'Route de Vins'. Bergerac is also the starting point to discover the castles of the region such as Duras and Montbazillac.
For fun days out, there is an Aqua Park just 15 minutes away. It has swimming pools, water slides, beach volley, jacuzzi, sauna, spa, snack bar and evening entertainment. Moreover, the Bergerac Karting is also close by.

Beautiful and peaceful
The houses are in a beautiful and peaceful location, perfectly set up for a large family holiday. We were impressed by the welcome basket and toys for the kids which were very thoughtful. They loved playing with the dolls' house and pirate ship. Helen was very friendly and helpful. The fans were a welcome feature as it was quite hot at night while we were staying.
A fab holiday!
We had a truly wonderful 10 days at Joli Champ, so much so that our youngest son cried himself to sleep the night before we had to leave! The house was very well stocked & there was nothing that we needed that wasn't already there. The play area & dressing up clothes were wonderful for our young daughter, a really lovely thought. We all loved the pool & the children spent hours each day splashing about. The furnishings were of a fantastic standard & we all loved chilling out on the Loaf sofas?? The area was great, with so much going on that we had plenty to do, the night markets were wonderful & plentiful. The property was far enough away from everything though that it was really peaceful & we had a wonderful view of the stars every night. We'll definitely be back. P.S. Helen was lovely too & it was lovely to know that she was on the end of the phone if we needed anything. A fab holiday!!
The most wonderful holiday
The little welcome touches were very thoughtful and well received. We had the most wonderful French holiday at Pear Cottage.
Outstanding Joli Champ!
A superb holiday rental, absolutely faultless. We had a fabulous time, wonderful accommodation, stunning location, lots to do. Outstanding!
