Facing the sensational scenery of northern Corsica, with wonderful views towards the sea, this contemporary abode offers style, space and the ideal setting for exploring the gorgeous villages and coastline of the Balagne region.
On the main floor, the open plan lounge and kitchen feature superb windows which open out to some of the villa’s vast and impressive terraces – we especially love the covered dining area for al-fresco feasts, followed perhaps by a glass of Corsican wine in the outdoor lounge. Downstairs, the striking infinity swimming pool awaits for warm summer days and the poolside summer kitchen means preparing leisurely lunches is a joy.
Across all three levels, the six bedrooms are simply styled, each benefitting from their own bathroom. At the very top of the house, stay in the master double with a private sea-facing terrace and there is a mezzanine level for three extra guests!
Some of the Balagne’s most delightful villages are within a short distance such as Pigna, Corbara and Monticello. It’s a walker’s paradise with trails between villages and through the hills whilst golf-lovers can admire the natural surroundings at the 9-hole Golf Club du Reginu.
L'Île-Rousse is also close by, a historic seaside town with charming restaurants, a lovely square and pretty beaches – take an evening walk towards the lighthouse for the most romantic sunsets. Beach-lovers can choose between the idyllic shores of Plage de Bodri and Plage de Ghjunchitu, perfect for snorkellers and swimmers alike, or Algajola’s Plage d’Aregno with its watersports.
Seek out the remote beauty of Corsica at Plage de l'Ostriconi, perhaps en route to St Florent, or soak up the bustling ambience of the captivating town of Calvi, around half an hour away, with its incredible mountain backdrop.
What you should know…
- The villa sleeps up to 15 guests across six double bedrooms and one mezzanine level with three single beds.
- The underfloor cooling system allows you to cool the bedrooms via a thermostat using ecological methods. Please note the temperature does not go any lower than 16C.
- If travelling with youngsters, please take extra care across the terraced grounds with steps and on the top-floor mezzanine level.

Location
About the surrounding area of Villa PanoramiqueIn the Balagne hills, just over 6km from the seaside town of L'Île-Rousse, Villa Panoramique enjoys the most sensational views of northern Corsica’s coastline. Calvi Airport is around a 30-minute drive away whilst Bastia Airport is also accessible 78km by car.
On the edge of a little hamlet, the villa is perched above a country road which leads to the main part of the village. Around 1.5km by car you will find a pizzeria or continue a little further to the heart of the village, around 2km away, to potter around near the Marie, the village church and pretty chapel. Look out for little gems such as the biscuit shop selling delicious home-made goods. There are yet more panoramic views from certain points in the village and its hamlets.
This is a great location for exploring some of the gorgeous Balagne villages that are scattered around the hills. Corbara (2km) is easily reached by car, with its beautiful houses and pretty fountain, whilst Pigna (5km) is famed for its ceramics and musical heritage. Monticello (6km) is another pretty village so typical of the Balagne or head to perched Sant'Antonino (10km) to discover one of France’s ‘Plus Beaux Villages’. There are some amazing hiking trails between the villages – reward yourself with lunch on a café terrace, many which make the most of the glorious vistas of the sea and mountains.
Driving down to the coast, L'Île-Rousse (6.5km) is such a charming place for a meal out in an authentic Corsican restaurant or by the beach, and the little morning market is also a delight. Stop off for a coffee or glass of maquis flavoured beer on the main square as locals play boules, before taking a stroll across to the lighthouse which is especially beautiful at sunset as the rocks turn red.
Some of the Balagne’s most idyllic beaches are near L'Île-Rousse such as Plage de Bodri and Plage de Ghjunchitu, both with crystal clear sea for snorkelling and swimming. Families may also love Algajola’s Plage d’Aregno, around 9km away, with a range of summer watersports, or continue to the long beach at Calvi with restaurants, watersports and incredible views towards the citadel.
Calvi (25km) is another perfect spot for dining out either on a terrace by the picturesque church, within the 13th century citadel or perhaps by the marina. From the port you can take a boat tour of the Scandola Nature Reserve, another great highlight of north-western Corsica.
In the other direction, spend the day in the handsome harbourside town of St Florent (50km), driving through the Désert des Agriate and passing the famously remote beach, Plage de l'Ostriconi (around 20km by car with the final part accessed only on foot).

Best Suited For: All AgesIt’s only a 10 to 15-minute drive down to some of northern Corsica’s loveliest beaches. Both Plage de Ghjunchitu and Plage de Bodri are popular with families and the clear sea makes them perfect for snorkellers as well as swimmers.
Both Plage d’Aregno in Algajola and Plage de Lozari are loved by watersport enthusiasts whilst the beach in Calvi also has a range of water-based activities. Look out for jet-skis, sea-kayaking, stand-up paddle boarding, windsurfing and paragliding along this stretch of coastline.
Of course, there are so many walks and hikes of varying abilities through the Balagne hills as well as rock-climbing and canyoning opportunities towards the mountains. Horse-riding is also popular both in the hills and by the sea or look out for donkey rides in the perched village of Sant’Antonino.
Another fun trip out is to ride on the delightful U Trinichellu train which travels between Calvi and L'Île-Rousse. Its fairly infrequent, so can get busy in the summer months, but it’s great to be able to admire some of Corsica’s stunning scenery and beaches from the old-fashioned train.
