Awaken your senses at Villa En Bois, an impressive holiday home benefitting from a private swimming pool and jacuzzi, just a short walk to a wild beach in south-western Corsica.
This unique structure en béton, with an industrial heritage, has been expertly renovated into a stylish and contemporary Corsican villa which brings the outside in, allowing gorgeous interiors to blend in with the home’s natural surroundings.
There’s an air of luxurious simplicity across its vast open plan living, dining and kitchen space with tall windows sliding open to the decked terrace, framing and swimming pool, garden and mountain view. Three inviting double bedrooms each feature their own shower rooms, allowing six adults and two children to sleep in this incredible place both comfortably and peacefully.
A swimming pool awaits outside, just by the spacious terrace ideal for al-fresco feasts, then there’s the covered jacuzzi for an extra touch of decadence. On warm summer evenings open a bottle of Vin de Corse Sartène as you chat with loved ones in the outdoor lounge.
Part of a large domaine, the owners can arrange for pastries and bread to be delivered each morning for leisurely breakfasts on your terrace. Then follow the estate’s path all the way down to a wild beach just perfect for a morning swim or even a spot of paddle-boarding.
Within a short drive you can be soaking up the bustling ambience of Propriano, a small yet delightful seaside harbour town with several restaurants, shops as well as beaches, boat trips and watersports. Perhaps you may prefer the rural charm of Olmeto in the hills or venture towards the characterful town of Sartène and truly experience the natural beauty of the island’s interiors.
Set in the Gulf of Valinco, there are so many picture-perfect shores within striking distance from Plage de Porto Pollo to the north to the idyllic bay of Campomoro further south. If you can find the time to steer away from Corsica’s pristine beaches and turquoise coloured sea, then spend the day visiting Bonifacio’s captivating citadel or the island’s capital, Ajaccio, with its vibrant markets, grand architecture and magnificent sea and mountain vistas.

Location
About the surrounding area of Villa En BoisPart of a large domaine, Villa En Bois is located in south-western Corsica, close to the seaside town of Propriano. Guests can fly in to Figari or Ajaccio Airport, both around an hour by car.
You can follow the domaine’s private path down to a beautiful wild beach, around 150m away, and a stand-up paddleboard can be made available for you. There are further watersports in Propriano itself, 4km away, where activities also include sea-kayaking, pedal boat hire and wake-boarding. The small, bustling seaside town of Propriano is home to several shops, restaurants and a picturesque harbour.
The beaches in the Valinco Gulf are stunning. Visit gorgeous bays such as Campomoro (19km) to the south with crystal clear sea, a paradise for snorkellers, and Porto Pollo (16km) to the north, another idyllic spot with summer beachside restaurants. Drive further south towards the Figari coastline and discover coastal gems including Plage de Tizzano and remote Plage de Roccapina.
Heading towards the mountainous interiors of south-western Corsica, with its vineyards, olive groves and maquis-covered hills, take time to visit the small historic village of Olmeto (6km). Sartène (16km) is another joy to explore as you wander around its winding lanes coming across charming squares and pretty restaurants. The Saturday morning market sells a plethora of local produce such as Corsican charcuterie, cheeses and honey (on a Tuesday and Thursday there are smaller markets in July and August) whilst history lovers won’t want to miss the newly opened Musée Départemental de Préhistoire.
As well as a number of wonderful walks and hikes within south-west Corsica’s rugged interiors, find horse-riding opportunities, cycling and mountain biking routes. Not to mention wine-tasting in the vineyards of Sartène or visiting the fascinating pre-historic menhirs so typical of this region at Filitosa (16km).
Further afield, drive to Bonifacio (66km) for a superb day out in the south of the island. Its historic citadel is perched above limestone cliffs which tumble down to the sea, resulting in dramatic views of the sea below. Further north, visit the island’s capital, Ajaccio (65km), for its wonderful restaurants, art galleries, markets, sea vistas and historic beauty.

There is a wild beach within walking distance and the opportunity for stand-up paddle boarding whilst the town of Propriano (4km) offers sea-kayaking, pedal boat hire, wake-boarding as well as a small summer waterpark with inflatables.
Then there’s the idyllic sandy shores of beaches such as Porto Pollo to the north and Campomoro to the south or pack a picnic and venture to more remote spots a little further afield such as Plage de Roccapina.
Boat trips are another wonderful way to admire the beauty of south-western Corsica with departures from Propriano. Back on land, explore the island’s interiors by finding a suitable walking or hiking trail or head off on horse-back through the maquis covered hills, discovering the most incredible mountainous landscapes.
