Villa Adrianna is a gorgeous Croatian gem, sitting within steps of the sea in Okrug Gornji on the western side of Ciovo island, within easy reach of Trogir. It is contemporary, full of trendy furnishings and luxurious fittings and offers a superb holiday experience. With four heavenly bedroom suites, wonderful sea views and lots of indulgent touches, it is a fabulous pick for a family or group of friends.
Okrug is divided into Okrug Gorji and Okrug Donji, both gorgeous villages surrounded by dense subtropical and Mediterranean plants and trees, breathtaking bays and a stunning archipelago of idyllic, picturesque tiny islands. Okrug is one of the most attractive Croatian tourist destinations, and Villa Adrianna could not be better located to enjoy it. Guests find it hard to leave this serene, beautiful spot through the delights of Trogir and the sensational Dalmatian coastline await.
Villa Adrianna is beautifully presented thoughout. The living space is open plan in design. Its all black kitchen is state-of-the-art and super cool. The chef in your group will be blown away by its design and excellent appliances. There is a sociable island too, so you just need to open a bottle of chilled local wine and keep the chef company. The living area enjoys sumptuous grey sofas and gorgeous leather accent chairs as well as a giant television. The dining area is elegant and smart with a lengthy wooden table and black leather chairs that complement the black kitchen. Trendy light fittings hang over the table and the island. Several sets of floor-to-ceiling glass doors open to the garden, terrace and pool. These all ensure that this dreamy space is drowned in natural sunlight.
One of the double-bedroom suites sits in the basement. Like the living space, it is exquisitely presented with a kingsized bed, gorgeous soft furnishings, contemporary art and an immaculate ensuite bathroom. The remaining three-bedroom suites are found on the first floor, each with a delightfully furnished balcony so you can enjoy the beautiful sea views and a pre-dinner drink while you get ready for the evening. They all enjoy beautifully dressed kingsize beds where you can dive into a deep slumber in crisp cotton and coordinated throws and cushions. Each of the ensuite bathrooms are fully tiled and very cool. If you have another two guests, you are welcome to use the luxury sofa bed.
The outside space of Villa Adrianna is just as impressive as its interiors. The pool is wonderful, surrounded by luxury loungers, deck chairs and an egg chair. There is a gorgeous alfresco lounge area and a wonderful alfresco dining area under a modern pergola. You, barbecue masters, will have fun on the barbecue, and you can dine with a view, enjoying sunsets and night stars. Villa Adrianna will send you home with magical holiday memories. You will feel very spoilt and indulged in staying in such a wonderful holiday home!

- A car is recommended, however the roads that approach the villa are very narrow and winding. For nervous drivers a transfer may be preferred.

About the surrounding area of Villa AdriannaOkrug Gornji is a delightful, beautiful village on the island of Ciovo, just over the bridge from Trogir. The village boasts an excellent array of restaurants and bars that serve a fantastic choice of Dalmatian specialities. Okrug Gornji boasts a diving school run by professionals waiting to show off the beauty of the Adriatic Sea. There is also tennis and a fitness centre. Boat trips take guests to the quiet, hidden bays close by, and parachutes take visitors into the air to enjoy this magical spot from an alternative viewpoint. Villa Adrianna is just steps away from the beach.
Visitors can take a ferry from Slatine on Ciovo Island over to Split if you want to avoid driving all the way around the coastline. Split is a seafront gem combining honeycombs of intricate historical buildings such as the Diocletian’s Palace with a cosmopolitan, palm-lined promenade offering tourists a fabulous vibrant holiday experience. The town’s atmospheric, narrow streets are sprinkled with ancient monuments, amazing restaurants, cafes, bars and a good variety of boutiques. The main city beach, Bacvice, is a perfect place to relax during the day and a popular night-time jaunt in the evening.
Trogir is just 2 km from Villa Adrianna. It is a wonderful tourist resort offering much entertainment, historic buildings, scenery and a fabulous dining scene. It is set within medieval walls on a tiny island, linked by bridges between the mainland and Ciovo Island. The Cipiko Palaces and St. Lawrence Cathedral are examples of the town’s incredible architecture. Building work started on the cathedral in 1213 though the main part wasn’t completed until 1250, and the bell tower was built between the 14th and 16th centuries. Visitors can climb the bell tower to enjoy spectacular views from the top. The Cipiko Palaces were home to the town’s noble family in the 15th century. It is easy to see why Trogir was designated a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1997. On summer nights, everyone leaves the knotted, maze-like marble streets and heads to Trogir’s wide seaside promenade lined with cafes, bars, restaurants and luxury yachts. You will find local honey, wines, olive oils and grappa amongst the colourful local fruit and vegetable produce at the town’s vibrant market.
It is easy to visit some of Croatia’s other islands while staying here. The popular islands of Brac and Hvar are also very close by. Brac Island is blessed with stunning scenery, wonderful coves and the mesmerising picture-postcard Zlatni Rat Beach at Bol. Hvar is famed for its lavender fields and reputation as Croatia’s coolest clubbing destination. You can take boat trips to both islands.
Primosten is a delightful resort towards Sibenik. The Our Lady of Loretto statue, a shrine to the Virgin Mary, stands above Primosten on Gaj hill. The site offers panoramic vistas of the resort. Primosten offers some lovely beaches, the most famous being Raduca Beach. The town also boasts one of the best-known clubs in Croatia, Aurora, which regularly attracts the very best DJs.
Flowing from the Dinara mountains, the Cetina River is action-packed with an awesome zipline, canyoning, river tubing, rafting and kayaking. You can even rent see-through kayaks so that you can explore the flora and fauna when you are paddling down the river. Thrilling rafting takes place in the northern part of the river, where there are exciting rapids and challenging waterfalls to descend. White water rafting takes place in a section of 10km starting north of Kuciceand passes one of the prettiest beaches, Stuzica. The rafting ends in the village of Blato na Cetini, which is a great lunch stop. Canyoning is not for the faint-hearted! Expert guides will help adventurous guests plunge into newly discovered rocky areas and clear waters, swim underneath powerful waterfalls, flow down naturally formed chutes and jump into emerald pools. The very bravest can abseil down the 56m high Gubavica waterfall, providing the most exhilarating and unforgettable experience. Paragliding is also very popular, with instructors taking younger visitors on tandem flights.
Rogoznica is also worth a trip. It lies on a peninsula that was formally the island of Koper. The town has one of the most beautiful ports, and locals engage in farming, fishing and tourism. It enjoys some wonderful historic churches and a salt lake called ‘Dragon’s Eye. The beaches are fabulous, with plenty of water sports available.

Best Suited For: All AgesVilla Adrianna is perfect for a family holiday. It enjoys a gorgeous pool, wonderful entertainment spaces, huge television and super comfy beds! The village of Okrug Gornji is delightful, with a good range of restaurants and bars and a lovely beach that offers watersports. The pebbly Kava Beach at Slatine on Ciovo is also very popular.
In Trogir, children interested in history enjoy the St Lawrence Cathedral and Fortress Kamerlengo. There are amazing views from the top. Trogir is an absolute delight with its narrow streets and buzzy, friendly atmosphere.
Children love the boat trips available to visit some of the islands just off the mainland. Very special is a boat trip to the magical Bisevo Island and the coastal town of Komiza to explore the epic Blue Cave and Stiniva Bay. The Blue Cave is so amazing with its striking blue light. It is 24m long and 10-12m wide with two openings. The underwater canopy through the cave floods with sunlight which fills the entire cave with a silver-blue colour when it passes through the water.
Split and the surrounding area boast a fantastic range of activities for children. Children love the maze of streets in the Old Town and running along the beautiful promenade, looking at the yachts. The oceanfront park Sustipan is popular. Klis Fortress is always a hit with families too. Marjan Hill boasts promenades, nature paths, beautiful vistas, playgrounds, bird and rare plant watching and the tiny Split zoo. There is a little tourist train from the Split National Theatre to visit many of the local attractions. Split’s Magic City is an indoor playroom, ideal if you have a wet day. The Wakeboard Cable Park is huge fun with five piers and several obstacles for wakeboarding and waterskiing fun. It can be very challenging, but it is a great day out.
Thrill-seeking children adore the Cetina River and its adventures. Families can raft the 10 km rapids, jump off rocks up to five metres high, swim, take a shower under a waterfall and zipline across the gorge. The minimum age for the zip wire experience is seven years old. A guide in tandem plummets will accompany young children. There are eight wires in total. You can also take a paragliding trip to enjoy the stunning scenery or take part in a canyon trip. Another treat is to kayak off the coast of Split, paddling around the beautiful peninsula of Marjan Park or kayak along the banks of the Zrnovnica river.
