Overview
Villa Voli is an airy and light-filled new-build home set perched on the south-east coast of the Croatian island of Krk in Kvarner Bay. This vibrant and airy dwelling emanates a breezy sea-side vibe and upbeat, effortless living spaces. Complete with stylish outdoor living potential with a terraced garden and pool, this home-from-home hits just the right note - understated yet comfortable, sleek yet homey.
In keeping with the local architectural style, its terracotta tiled roofs are offset by olive green shutters, while dining al fresco will be a chic affair, with a shaded dining porch, a bistro set on the sun-filled terrace for morning coffee as the town wakes up, or an evening glass of wine as the sun sets over the dazzling sea views. Executed for indoor-outdoor living, the dining veranda has a brick-built barbecue, and the poolside is furnished with indulgent loungers, parasols and an outdoor shower. The panoramic vistas from the upper balcony offer a timeless slice of local Croatian life.
The interiors at Villa Voli are fresh, crisp and contemporary. Set over two well-proportioned storeys, six guests can be comfortably accommodated within 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. The warmly welcoming kitchen-diner features natural timbers and natural daylight, with an accent of Scandi design with low-hanging lights and minimalist natural wood finishes. Fitted with top-range appliances, self-catering will be a breeze. The relaxed living space is brightened by vivid artwork depicting local scenes, while every creature comfort is in place, from air-con to wifi to laundry facilities.
The bedrooms offer serenely restorative resting spaces, finessed with crisp, neutral linens and tones. The upper-level ones have balcony access and sea views respectively, while the ground floor bedroom has terrace access.
For a family or group, seeking to enjoy an authentic Croatian island experience, with just the right balance of tranquillity and local life, a home with local flavour along with seamless attention to detail, and sea-side access, this lovely home ticks every box.

Location
About the surrounding area of Villa VoliVilla Voli is set on a beachside position, with a rocky cliffside leading to a pebble beach and sparkling waters just in front of this home. Set just 300m from the busy local town centre of Vrbnik, on the southeast coast of Krk island, this dwelling enjoys both sea-side tranquillity and access to the bustle of authentic Croatian town life.
One of the largest islands in the Adriatic, Krk is unofficially known as the “golden island” due to being one of the sunniest parts of Europe. It is small enough to easily reach both ends within half an hour’s drive, yet large enough to offer varied landscapes along with thousand-year-old monuments, romantic cliffside walks and wild shepherd’s rocky paths.
The town of Vrbnik (36 miles south of Rijeka) is a quintessential Istrian style community, centred around the medieval church and features classically Croatian narrow, cobbled winding streets and small pathways. Klancic is considered the narrowest street in the world and draws visitors for its charming, irregular shape. The bell tower dates back to 1527 and was once used as a prison.
The beaches around Vrbnik are known for their clear, sparkling waters and steep cliffs, making them ideal for cliff jumping. Famous for the golden coloured dry white wine that is produced in the region’s vineyards from the local zlahten grape, this fine wine can be enjoyed in the local tavernas with sheep’s cheese and prosciutto. The grape sort was introduced to the island at the end of 19th century, and to Vrbnik valley between the two world wars. The name of the wine comes from the Slavic word, zlahten, which means noble.
The famous restaurant of Konoba Nada is well worth a visit, it faces the sea with panoramic views and has a cellar bar. Whether it be a meal in the award-winning restaurant or something lighter in the wine cellar, Nada is an excellent choice; the local wine can be enjoyed with smoked hams, sheep’s cheese, salted fish and sublime views.
The neighbouring islands of Rab, Cres and Losinj have wonderful beaches and make for easy boat trips. Rab Island offers a taste of the Medieval - its crumbling architecture and annual jousting competitions are like something straight out of a historical film. Dolphins can be spotted on island-hopping trips, while Cres has a griffon-vulture population and Lošinj has a marine centre devoted to preserving the Adriatic's dolphins and turtles.

The Adriatic Sea provides the perfect playground for water sports enthusiasts - kayaking, windsurfing and jet-skiing are all popular activities around the island. The crystal-clear waters are also perfect for snorkelling and diving. Many tour operators on the island offer family-friendly excursions where you can explore the underwater world and observe marine life together. Krk also has several marinas, making it a popular stop for sailors and boaters exploring the Adriatic.
Krk’s landscape also includes lush greenery and rolling hills, ideal for hiking and cycling. Numerous bike paths and trails wind through the miles of untouched nature. Whether you're an experienced cyclist or a novice, you can explore the island at your own pace or join one of the many bike tours on offer, enjoying the fresh air and breathtaking scenery. The serene countryside offers splendid vistas, and the scents of Mediterranean herbs like rosemary and lavender fill the air.
The city of Krk, the island's main hub, is a charming blend of history and modernity. The well-preserved ancient city walls and medieval architecture are a testament to its storied past. One of the most iconic landmarks is the Frankopan Castle, a magnificent fortress that dates back to the 12th century. The island also boasts numerous churches and chapels, including the Cathedral of St. Mary, which features Romanesque and Gothic elements, and the small church of St. Donatus, one of the oldest on the island.
Krk's culinary scene is a rooted in the Croatian lifestyle, emphasising locally sourced ingredients and flavours. The island's cuisine is known for its use of olive oil, fresh seafood, and an array of herbs. In the picturesque towns and villages, you'll find cozy family-run restaurants and taverns offering hearty traditional dishes like "šurlice," a homemade pasta, and "pašticada," a slow-cooked beef stew. The island is also renowned for its sheep cheese, such as “šur", and the exceptional local wine "Žlahtina," which pairs perfectly with the island’s fresh seafood. Dining in a konoba, a traditional Croatian tavern, allows you to savour the essence of Krk's cuisine while enjoying the warm hospitality of the locals.
While Krk itself has so much to offer, it also serves as a gateway to explore the wider Kvarner region and the nearby islands. A short ferry ride connects Krk to Cres, Rab, and other smaller islands, each with their own unique charm and attractions. The proximity to the mainland makes it easy to embark on day trips to cities like Rijeka and Opatija, famous for their historic architecture and buzzing cultural scenes.
Krk offers a diverse range of experiences for travellers seeking natural beauty, history, culture, and delicious cuisine. With its rich history, warm hospitality, and breathtaking landscapes, Krk has rightfully earned its place as one of Croatia's top tourist destinations. Whether you're looking for adventure, relaxation, or a cultural experience, this “Golden Island” island has it all.

Great villa with fantastic location
Except for the steep driveway to the garage, there is nothing to complain about. Vacations can not be more beautiful!

Exclusive dream house in the best location
The modern house with the outdoor pool is situated slightly elevated and is easily accessible by car. For a fee can be rented in addition to the a garage. The house is practically in new condition, is well equipped and all three bedrooms have their own bathroom. At the pool you can find excellent rest. The equipment inside and outside is more than complete. But what made the vacation additionally unique are the lovely landlords. They take care from A-Z! A dream!!
