What Oliver loves…
- These utterly breath-taking panoramic sea views from across the terrace can be viewed in total style and comfort, with a clifftop, alfresco dining area and an infinity pool overlooking the bay!
- If ever you’d instead relax inside, with a games room each for both the kids and the bigger kids, with toys, a PlayStation and a pool table, you can be sure everyone’s entertainment needs will be met!
- Enjoy your exclusive spa, where you can unwind in the vast hot-tub or get in a work-out before you take on the day!
- Animals are allowed at this villa, so there’s no need to leave your furry friends at home, bring them along – they’ll love it!
With a spa, games room and breath-taking, panoramic views over the dazzling sea in the distance, Villa Paradiz indeed is a piece of Paradise on the Croatian coastline!
The interiors strike a majestic balance between traditional charm and character and total contemporary luxury!
Built in just 2015, there’s certainly nothing outdated about this home, yet the interior stone walls and rustic décor will take you back to a simpler time when getting cosy by the fire under beautiful wooden beams across the ceiling was the greatest pleasure.
There are three separate living areas in total, each providing a unique atmosphere – one with large sofas in front of the TV and fire, one with a pool table and one with a children’s play area – so guests of all ages will have all the comfort and entertainment they could wish for!
The kitchen is spacious and elegant, with floral and wooden patterns combining beautifully. There is a dining area alongside a large table for all the group to gather for memorable meal times!
A second, more casual, dining area has the atmosphere of a tavern, with a lovely long bench for guests to enjoy. Descend one floor further to find your very own spa, with a delightful hot-tub and mini-gym, as well as a shower.
There are five sumptuous bedrooms, each incredibly spacious and stylish, once again with fabulous wooden beams overhead. All five feature a double bed, while two also have a single bed, and all are decorated similarly, with complementary colours, white wardrobes and elegant wire-frame beds.
Each has a dazzling ensuite bathroom with a large walk-in shower and marble-effect tiles. On this floor, there is another casual seating area.
The great highlight of the home must be the garden. A huge dining area sits elevated on the cliff-top, gifting you the most majestic of sea-views!
A casual seating area, a row of sun-loungers beside the pool and a play area for the children all enjoy these same wondrous views, stretching across to the islands and over the vibrant, deep blue of the Adriatic.
There is an infinity pool where you can enjoy a dip in the refreshing waters after a day of sunbathing with a view – and a barbeque for unbeatable alfresco meals! In the distance, you can see the green beauty of the island of Cres!
The villa is in the small village Obrš, just a short walk from the hugely popular (and rightly so!) tourist resort of Mošćenička Draga!
And around a kilometre from the beautiful Učka Nature Park, a sprawling protected area with hiking routes leading to canyons, waterfalls and historic sites, you’ll find unspoilt nature a stone’s throw away.
In fact, one-third of the Istrian territory is forested, and the rest is carpeted with vineyards, olive trees, pastures and orchards, with ancient walled cities perched atop hills in the mountainous landscape, so wherever you venture, you’ll be sure to discover the richness of Istria.

Just 10 minutes away from the sublime coast, Villa Paradiz is beautifully nestled between the thickly forested hills of the Učka Nature Park and the dazzling Adriatic Sea.
Along the coastline, you can stroll on the charming promenades, or even pop into the Croatian Museum of Tourism in Opatija!
Once a seaside resort for the Austro-Hungarian elite, in the days of the Austro-Hungarian Empire, Opatija remains a popular destination for those seeking a picturesque and peaceful Croatian coastal town with a little more to it than just a beach!
A charming heart-shaped peninsula in the north-west of Croatia, Istria is warm, welcoming and perfectly-sized – you can drive the length in around an hour, putting everything within easy reach!
From breath-taking scenery, rich history and a world-famous culinary scene – you will find it all in Istria! As a former part of the Venetian Republic, this region has seen many rulers from the Romans, Byzantines and Austro-Hungarians to the Italians and Yugoslavians.
Now, a myriad of enchanting towns and villages, rich in history and culture, are nestled among the undulating countryside.
Active holiday-makers will be delighted with the offerings: from windsurfing in Medulin to scuba diving in the Brijuni National park and rock climbing, hang-gliding and walking in Buzet along the 15km ‘seven waterfalls’ walk, Istria has it all.
Both along the dramatic coastal paths and in the mountains inland, you will find an abundance of natural paths for cycling (including the scenic Parenzana route over an old railway line from Viznada to the Slovenian border) and rugged off-road hiking trails.
Pick up a trail-map from any of the Tourist Offices, for loads of well-marked routes around the coast and in the Cape Kamenjak.
Much like its neighbouring Italy, Istria is a gastronome’s paradise, home to world-class cuisine and endless rows of vineyards. Be sure to try the local wines, which are often sweet and fruity, using a wide variety of grapes including white Malvasia, red Terrano and Moscato.
Istria is especially famous for its truffles, which you will find served with any dish and sauce! Truffle flavoured olive oil is a typical product of the region, and indeed, you will hardly find a village which does not have its own Olive oil ‘supermarket’!
Unlike the rest of Croatia, Istrian food tends to be light and heavily influenced by its Italian neighbours.
Generally, pasta, gnocchi, risotto and polenta accompany each meal, while the coastal areas specialise in a fantastic array of seafood, including scampi, squid and sole and inland it is more common to find prosciutto, or ‘pršut’, and sausages.
Both Rijeka and Pula have international airports within a short drive of the villa, while Pula is the central hub for those getting ferries, although there is a daily ferry between Poreč and Venice.

This heart-shaped peninsula was the birthplace of modern Croatian tourism, and it’s easy to see why. Its history has bestowed it with Italian sophistication, most obviously seen in pastel-painted coastal towns, like romantic Rovinj. But, tear yourself away from the Istrian coast, through the vineyards, olive groves, and dense forests, and you will discover brilliantly preserved medieval towns and villages, where cobbled streets reveal quaint galleries, sweet squares and sea-views.
Villa Paradiz is the ideal home for your family holiday. With a fabulous array of onsite facilities and so much to explore nearby you can guarantee making memories to treasure as well as a little peace and quiet while the kids get stuck in!
In the heart-shaped bubble of Istria, you will find many activities specifically designed for families, including the two sensational water parks of Aquapark Istralandia near Novigrad and Aquapark Aquacolors in Poreč.
There is also the Dino Park just outside the town of Funtana where the kids can enjoy seeing life-size dinosaurs in the wilderness, an amusement park and even a dino shooting range!
On the theme of Dinosaurs, just a short drive from Pula, on the very southern tip of Istria, is the Kamenjak National Park where you can follow the ‘Dinosaur Path’ to discover dinosaur footprints and admire stunning views over the bay.
All along the coastline you will find opportunities to rent boats, pedalos and snorkelling equipment (or even scuba diving if you’re feeling up to it!) to enjoy the pristine beaches and bays, while inland among the deep green, rolling mountains there are some of the most beautiful cycling and hiking trails in Europe.
